Ordered mine on release day, still showing as Processing. No Apple Care, BTO, Shipping to the UK.

Mine is still processing too and also shipping to UK from within UK?! What's your configuration? I bought mine on Thursday too :) I'm going to ring tonight and try and get express shipping as some people are already getting theirs?! It's a joke, so annoying :/

Ordered mine on Saturday with upped CPU and GPU, 1TB Fusion Drive but then cancelled today and upped the HDD to 3TB Fusion.

I got my 32GB RAM in my late 2012 and is going to swap them all into this mighty machine

I wonder if the iMac's boards are Broadwell ready.. allowing apple to swap out the chips easily when they are launched later..

i5, M295X, 8GB, SSD.

Let us know if they allow you to upgrade the shipping.

Mine shipped!!! Apple says it will deliver on Thursday Oct 23rd, However Fed-Ex has a scheduled date for delivery of Oct 22nd Wednesday. I will go with Wed. :D

I'm wondering if they would even consider skipping Broadwell and going to Skylake :O probably not I guess

Just rang them and was put through to the Ireland office. They said as its a new release they can't offer anything other than standard shipping but once it ships, delivery is the following day so if it ships tomorrow then will be delivered on Wednesday! :) oh nice I got: i5, 8GB, m290x and 1TB fusion drive. Would you say that's a good configuration for a student as I am and intend to upgrade ram via 3rd party? Sound good? Will it last up to 4/5 years?? Any tips or advice please?

The iMacs are assembled in the USA, so they don't ship from China.

All I know is the fact that the last 2 iMacs i have ordered were shipped from China. I wish it was true because mine is due to ship out any time now and if it shipped by tonight or early on monday then I would get it in Tuesday which would be awesome but it's highly unlikely. If I am wrong and I get it shipped from USA then I will come back to eat my words. ;)

99.5% it'll ship from here.

Really? That is interesting. I guess we shall wait and see what happens.

That is interesting, I ordered mine immediately after the store opened after the event and got a shipping delivery date range of Oct 24-27. It's interesting that your delivery time is earlier than mine. However mine is already in prepared for shipment so mine will ship soon either tonight or early tomorrow I hope. Is yours in prepared for shipping then in this case?

----------

Wishful thinking, and I hope you are right and I will be happy to eat my words stated earlier that it will ship from China instead. I can't wait to see how this plays out.

I was right.. shipping from China... Guess its not me that should be eating their words.. :D

Mine too was Apple estimated to deliver on the 23rd, the the FedEx tracking says delivery Wed Oct. 22 before 10:30am. :D

It too is coming from China.

Apple may have had a small test production run in the US prior to starting full production runs at FoxConn. These first machines with US labels could be the ones shown around and placed in the hands of reviewers. I believe I recall a similar situation when the 2012 iMacs were released.

Shipped! Friday delivery :( but a lot of my other things don't come in until then so I'm ok. Ahah

Given how mine as well as others FedEx time stamps are the same, I'd bet that all our iMacs are arriving on the same plane. I'd put money on FedEx Flight #90 PVG-MEM set to arrive ~22:30 CST. That should be ample time for the packages to make the early AM flights that serve domestic locations from MEM. I'm hoping this means that tomorrow AM my iMac will be on a delivery truck. Best of luck to others that live by airports served by FedEx and chose expedited shipping.

It looks like the "expedited " shipping orders are going fed ex and the normal ones are going UPS with delivery dates a day or two later.

Seems good to me, UPS is much better in my area than Fedex. When Fedex came to delivery my iphone 6, they didn't even ring the doorbell, they just left a note.

Just curious, Is anyone getting a scheduled delivery date of Tuesday Oct 21st?
If so can you post the shipping notice please?

If Fed-Ex did that to me I would be so mad, and would raise Hell with the Local Office.

just a tip for everybody, you can pre-sign on your order page

also i always "hold for pickup" that way i can go down first thing in the morning before work

I went through the same process. 1TB Fusion, then cancelled to 3TB Fusion, and putting in my 32GB from my late 2012.

Are you... me? :D

AppleCare.. wise choice, you don't have to worry for 3 years.

Just noticed: Apple Care for the cheapest MacBook Air = US$249 = 27.7%. Apple Care for the iMac = US$169 = 6.8%. For that money, I'd say buy Apple Care for the iMac, and handle your MacBook Air carefully :p

Most users won't notice the difference at all. People who use the right software will notice a massive difference though. The cache is bigger 6-8mb, i7 support hyper threading (8 virtual cores rather than 4), and the i7 is clocked almost 15% faster. Only the clock speed will make a difference to those who don't use highly threaded software that can fill the cache though (almost all consumer software), so for the average joe, it's at most a 14% difference. Most likely less however. Those who really use it will see substantial differences though.

For most people, 3.5GHz i5 is "fast enough" and 4.0GHz i7 is the exact same speed, "fast enough" :). For people who _need_ the speed, the 4.0GHz i7 will be noticeable faster.
