I Ordered My Retina iMac High End What did you get?

UPS says their system says held for inspection by Chinese Government. They need to bring these back to the USA and make them here. This China crap is getting old. I don't think I would order this way again.

Mine landed in Alaska along with yall's yesterday. I was still skeptical about the Friday delivery but I did get the email from UPS My Choice this morning confirming a Friday delivery date. Let's cross our fingers!

My iMac was stuck in China for two days while it cleared customs. It landed on US soil in Alaska yesterday (Wed) but hasn't moved since.

Anyone else?

It's either still awaiting customs, or waiting for the right plane to leave.

It might meet the delivery date. Mine has been sitting in Alaska since yesterday... And I'm guessing they won't delivery it directly to Dulles, it still has to go to Louisville.

Depends. They sometimes ship directly to destination from Anchorage.

That'd be nice. Also, as someone who used to go to school in Pasadena, your name cracks me up for some reason. I'm guessing that is where you live...

And times like this I wish I lived back on the west coast, closer to my new toys :)

Just ordered a maxed out iMac with retina display 5K as well! (4.0 GHz, 32 Gb RAM, M295x, 3TB Fusion). I'm a Radiologist (programmer in my former life) so I also will utilize every pixel on this amazing display! :D

Or it was stolen. Or someone put there boot through it. I've had that happen before....

If you want to max out the config, then you should get the 1TB SSD option..

Mine left Alaska less than 2 hours after it arrived.
Landed in Louisville at 1:31AM EST early this morning.

No "Import Scan" yet indicating it cleared customs.

Did yours land in Alaska around
Anchorage, AK, United States 10/22/2014 1:12 P.M. Arrival Scan

Because mine hasn't moved since that update and I'd think ours were on the same shipment.

Import Scan just happened!

Let's try this again.... No "Departure Scan" yet indicating it left Louisville.

Very odd that we were on the same flight out of China and into Alaska but mine is still in Alaska. That is assuming it doesn't ship straight from there to Colorado. Though I've only ever seen international shipments go through Kentucky as a hub.

Yeah, I don't see how it couldn't be in Louisville now unless it's shipping elsewhere from Alaska. It's not like it was a tight connecting flight and I would imagine the boxes aren't being moved individually.

Mine is heading to the Boston area.

Is everyone that is showing Alaska taking shipment towards the west coast?

am i the only one thinking that its ridiculous spending so much money on a machine like this?

and the fact that some people post their order-screenshots and changing their signatures is ridiculous too. you are by fare the coolest peoples i know.

I wanted a All in One at home, seeing I have an rMBP and a Mac Pro with a pro display at my work. So splashed the cash, I'd rather be spending it on pretty things than say pee'ing it away on booze every weekend or smoking everyday which some people enjoying doing... Each to their own. As for signatures well some people have worked hard for a riMac and want to shout about it.

Why is it ridiculous? Maybe you cannot justify the cost, but others apparently do.
About the signatures, I cannot say that I don't agree, but I also understand the joy people feel and want to share it with others. I definitely though don't like people that want to show off..

The point of signatures here is really to state your setup so that when you make comments or ask for help, people can relate them to your gear. On some forums it is a requirement.

After doing some quick research, just changed my order to the 1TB SSD :D:apple:

Welcome to the club! :D

I thought long and hard about what configuration to choose, and in the end decided to max out what couldn't be updated in the future - without peeling off that rather expensive screen!!

4.0 GHz i7
16 GB RAM
1TB Flash Storage
Radeon M295X 4GB

I was going to go for 32GB RAM as well, but decided how things went with 16GB to start. I also thought Apple's price was less than ideal. If I want/need more in the future I'll simply buy some from a 3rd party.

I expect this thing to fly and I mostly will use it for Lightroom, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. I can't wait to start working with that 5K screen!!!!!

Overall despite the high cost of extra (32GB) Ram and the 1TB SSD price, I think that with the 5K display this iMac offers remarkable value for money :)

I ordered it on the 20th, and it left Shanghai today :) Hoping to arrive by the 29th according to Apple, although UPS are saying 3rd November - we shall see . . . .
