Ordered 3rd November before 8:00am, Worcestershire UK.

So basically no chance of getting it on the 21st, just a telephone operator fobbing me off.

Strange thing is the payment side. It showed as pending and it then vanished but she said payment had been taken. Maybe they're going to give it to me for free?

I'm in Staffordshire and ordered mine 9am on 30th and I'm on the phone to apple at the mo doing what is commonly known as 'throwing my toys out of my pram'

Update:

No result, some crap now about can't change shipping because it's going to be shipped at any time. yeah yeah, whatever

Sounds like none of them have a clue really.

Will be glad to get mine just so I can stop checking apple.com, then my email, then my barclaycard account, then apple.com....

I know what you mean, I need to get a life really and worry about important things like where Shirley has gone in Eastenders :p

I called today and was told they couldn't upgrade my shipping and that I'm going to get it by the 24th no matter what. Expected shipping is 19th-24th. :/ ordered on the 1st. highly doubt it's going to come in 2 days. The person I talked to said that sometimes it never comes out of the processing status until well after the product has been shipped or delivered... So what's the point of the order status page anyway? i was also told that if it doesn't ship out by the 23rd or receive an email of it being dispatched then I'm supposed to call back. I'm going without a computer for work so this is very frustrating for me, but I refuse to cancel. Crossing my fingers something happens this week.

Thats like the story I was told... and within 30 mins my estimated delivery date changed on the site.

To add to the frustration they've just emailed to say the estimated despatch date is the 26th. That makes it pretty unlikely for me to get it in the new delivery slot!

Not impressed right now

Hi everyone. I'm in Brazil, ordered on November 1st (i7, M295X, 3TB fusion). Original delivery date was Nov 25 – Dec 1. Over the weekend my order status changed to preparing for shipping, but now it's back to processing and the delivery date changed to Dec 9 – 15. Expedited shipping is not an option in Brazil, we only have one default shipping speed. It really seems like this is a problem for everyone all over the world, I don't think I'm even gonna bother calling Apple.

4ghz I7 4GB video 1TB Fusion. Ordered my Crucial memory upgrade through crucial.

Ordered on Friday the 14th and being delivered on Tuesday even with the upgrades. I did not order from Apple. I ordered through B&H. They are an authorized reseller. Also got a discount on the AppleCare and they threw in a copy of Parallels 10 for free. Since I live in PA and not NY, no tax and it was free shipping. Just a hint to check there for those that have long wait times with Apple. I was surprised as anyone when I got the tracking number this morning because when I ordered it was still on a preorder status.

Ordered mine Nov. 5. Delivery anywhere from the 21st to the 26th. Still in processing state. I somehow doubt it'll be this Friday. I guess we shall see.

So a couple of things I read elsewhere: Apparently, there was a big Chinese jewelry smuggling bust that was delaying stuff at the end of September. Then there was the weeklong vacation in China. Then, Apple itself was causing delays for others due to its contracts with shippers for the new iPhone, so I wonder if iPhone shipping is actually delaying iMacs out of China.

I have no idea if any of this is causing the issues we're seeing, but maybe. It's just annoying. I'm not waiting on a shipment, but it's causing me to delay a possible order of a custom iMac to replace my base model.

Striving to be the voice of reason (for myself if not for anyone else!)...

We will get these machines before too long. It may be a week, two weeks, or perhaps even more after the initial shipping estimates, but they will come.

Something to keep in mind, though: if you joined this queue at the start (which seems to be the 29th of October) you are surely likely to get yours sooner. And the later you ordered after that, the later it's likely to be.

I get the impression that the sheer volume of orders is such that even a day's difference in ordering makes for later and later shipping dates.

The flip side of all of this is that when people here do start taking delivery of machines it will be some reassurance for the people next in line. (And perhaps an opportunity to feel incensed if you somehow got skipped over... Since we don't know the precise nature of the queue, this also seems inevitable.)

So yes, all of this is what I keep telling myself, while checking my order page and this thread far too many times each day.

I'm in Lanark, Rab. Ordered 6/11 with estimated delivery between 25-28th November. Wonder if oor retina iMacs will make the same delivery van!

I reckon they'll be on the boat over together at the very least. My card was just charged so I'm hoping the 25-28th estimate is Apple just trying to avoid disappointment and it turns up earlier.

ordered mine after I sold my 2010 Mac Pro which was on the 10th of Nov, from adorama $3800 out the door no sales tax and free 3yrs apple care to boot saved over $500 from them if I would of went with Apple I would of paid $4,300 so I spent extra cash that I save and maxed out the ram to 32GB

i7
32GB
M295X
512 Flash

Adorama says 10-14 business days, checked the status today and it still says back ordered, started ordering some stuff for my iMac WD my book VelociRaptor duo thunderbolt should be coming in in Tuesday from B & H again no sales tax, i'm not going to buy computers from Apple no more I'm going to buy my next computers from Adorama or B & H very great prices and no sales tax

I went back through the thread and assembled all the data for orders made on the 28th of October or later into a spreadsheet.

My order was delayed by financing, which cleared at around 16:00 JST on the 29th, which leads me to believe that I was at most hours too late to catch the last shipped machines. I'm also likely to be at or near the very top of the list.

We can deduce from this list that orders for custom configurations made on or after the 29th of October have yet to be fulfilled. All custom configurations seem to be affected the same way, but no one posting in this thread has had a standard configuration.

Further, the last reported received orders are November the 12th and 13th, meaning they were shipped likely around the 8th (at a guess). So it also seems that no custom config orders have been shipped for 10 days now.

All of this suggests that whatever is holding things up is pretty universal —*and yet I haven't seen any reports of standard configurations being delayed.

Hold up —*I also notice that all these machines have the i7 and the M295X. If I'm not mistaken, no one has posted in this thread having ordered the i5 or the M290X. It could be that one or both of these are the bottleneck.

.

That's pretty interesting.

For the sake of completion mine is the i7, 8GB, 295X, 256GB.

Also the date of the 26th is the estimated despatch date rather than delivery date. I make that to be an estimated delivery date of the 3rd December to me.

I'm also on this very same boat ...

Ordered [in Germany] on the 21st OCT ... the delivery date evolved from:

1) 4th -6th NOV
2) 14th - 19th NOV
3) 26th - 28th NOV (current one ...)

Will be at least 5 weeks waiting for it when the initial delivery date was 5 to 7 days! Great job Apple! ... planning and schedule is a real issue here or it's only me?

I used to be a happy Apple buyer and user.

Apparently, there was a big Chinese jewelry smuggling bust that was delaying stuff at the end of September.

On another forum I've just read (not to do with Apple but about getting goods out of China) they are complaining about good not getting shipped and waiting weeks.

It would explain that even after I asked them to upgrade the shipping to expedited they wouldn't and why the first rep I spoke to at Apple blamed the courier for the delay.

Doesn't explain why other people got their shipping expedited unless mine is one of the ones already shipped whilst the others are sitting in a build up of machines yet to be dispatched.

Disappointed

I ordered the retina iMac maxed out cpu, 4g video ram, 512 ssd when I got the machine on a clean system I noticed problems like windows of browsers lagging and so on the bench tests I ran were OK but I really do think the GPU's are at their limit now they showed signs of lagging not something you expect in a new system, anyway within three days it had frozen on me 3 times, wouldn't shut down properly (black screen but cursor still visible and moving). Then applications refused to load I couldn't even see screen shots in preview I had to use a browser so I returned it and will be waiting for the next revision.
I must say when it was working it was a beautiful screen and did run ok although I was expecting a little more from the benchmarks I ran I suspect the 5K screen is very taxing at the moment.
I hope they sort the problems out on the next revision because there are problems trust me.

More Delays

https://bgr.com/2014/11/17/retina-imac-2014-shipping-delays/

“We appreciate your recent purchase from the Apple Store. Following is an update regarding the status of your order,” Apple wrote in an email to a customer. Due to an “unexpected delay,” the company now anticipate shipping the 5K Retina iMac five to seven business days later than initially expected.

Well, it seems we're all over the news today. Or rather, delays with 5K iMacs are. Old news to everyone in this thread, of course.
