I considered the pro for maybe 5 minutes, ultimately I decided on the 11. Oled doesn’t really matter to me. None of my devices have it so I can’t miss what I don’t have. As for the cameras, it’s still a phone camera so it’s really not impressive enough for serious photography. In terms of performance they are now complete equals. The IP rating didn’t matter to me. How often will I be in a situation that I need that? I wouldn’t take any phone near the water without adequate protection. The 11 pro is an 11 with more bells and whistles. You guys can justify its premium price until your blue in the face. At the end of the day it’s not a better phone, it’s just a fancier phone.

Technically, it absolutely is a better phone. That isn't the question. The question is whether it is worth the extra money. The answer to that depends on each individual. It isn't worth it for you and that is fine. I bought the 11 Pro Max primarily for the larger/better screen. The superior battery life is also a plus.

Sometimes you want to go out yourself and observe the peasants as they peer in with their noses pressed up to the glass
Well it’s the truth. When you have the latest and greatest you feel like a boss.

I walk into Starbucks with my 11 Pro Max and do a quick wipe down so everyone can see it. Then I make sure to crank up the brightness to max because I roll like a douchebag. Order my coffee and slam the phone down on the table so people notice. It’s ok, I’m slam boy certified. Haters and peasants, calm down!!

My Pitaka case isn’t really slam boy certified.

Where is that graph from? The video in the article shows the 11 Pro Max have the best battery and the 11 coming in second.

Results do vary, but 11 Pro Max has consistently been the top performer, even when up against Android phones. In fact, in each of the videos below, the 11 Pro outperforms the 11.

11 loses out hard when the video tests get mixed in. In most reviews (anantech for the latest one) the 11 comes out on top Vs the normal pro in most tests apart from the video ones where it loses out because of lcd Vs oled during dark scenes.

But the real question is if the 11 pro max will be a phone that people will be using five years from now. I’ve read longevity of oled screens is hit and miss.

The iphone 11 pro series is better than iphone 11 this is sure.

If you like 11 or 11 pro is subjective... I made the jump between 8 plus to 11 pro and there is a very big jump.

I love OLED and warm screen, for someone doesn't care but the 3rd camera is important, I am an amateur photographer and I search the best in the camera sector and 11 pro is the best in Apple.

If you are happy and confident of your purchase I am happy too but i have a question: if you have money, do you return 11 pro?

I understand you, I don't have money to change phone every year but when I can change I buy the top

I think most people I know who use iPhones could afford the best Apple offer but don’t necessarily feel compelled to buy it. It’s a bit of a hard sell regardless of whether you can afford it or not when the iPhone 11 is £270 cheaper. The 11 is good enough for a lot of people and I include myself in that camp despite not owning it.

I took my time looking at the regular 11 and the Pro Max and the asking price for the 11 was hard to beat for the features and quite a big jump from the iPhone 7 I was using. The display differences are negligible to me as I don’t have the greatest eyesight anymore. So I couldn’t justify the extra expense for a zoom lens.

How’s the battery life real world? I can get two full days out of the pro max.

With heavy use and Apple Music streaming, I can easily get through a full day. From 6 in the morning to 10 at night and still have 30 to 40% battery left.

Way better than my iPhone 7

Edit; Perhaps I can give Apple Music a rest and see how long she runs.

I’m not a display obsessive either and the LCD is plenty good enough for my phone needs. I’d say the iPhone 11 is 90% of what the iPhone 11 Pro is and that’s good enough for most people I’d say. I’m sure it’s as popular as the XR was due to its wider market reach based on price too.

That sounds like what I get out of my 8+ too. I charge every night anyway so one day is plenty and I often have at the very least 30% at the end of each day.

K I'll say it.

What really happened is that you wanted to buy the Pro, and something prevented you from coming up with the money, so you settled for an 11, and then came here to make up a story to make yourself feel better. You wouldn't be the first to do this.

Probably not. I have the pro max and I think aside from the battery and extra camera, everything is quite the same. I’m having issues with headaches and if I want to trade it back in for the 11 and lose battery life.

I too have the Pro Max and unfortunately suffer from eye strain (assuming due to pwm). Money has nothing to do with my moving to an 11 if that happens, but at the same time I wouldn’t make a thread defending my decision so who knows the OP’s true intent. Sorry I sidetracked, but wanted to say I’m in the same boat and am torn between the regular 11 or my 8 Plus for yet another long year. You may lose an hour or two in battery life depending on your usage but would that be significant to you? I have continuous access to chargers so I’m not sure what battery life would be reasonable to others.

I’ve got the 11 Pro and my partner got the 11 yesterday.

Perhaps my eye sight is going (I’m only 28!) but I can’t notice a real difference in the displays aside from colour temperature. I haven’t tested HDR content.

I actually prefer the appearance of the aluminium bands around the side.

Not sure I’ll be going 12 Pro next year if the 12 is as close to it as the 11 is to the 11 Pro....

Is it really an hour of battery life difference though?

Well I think it depends on the type of use. There are so many factors but with many of the tests I’ve seen, such as Tom’s Guide, the Pro Max lasted 11:54 vs the iPhone 11 at 11:16 under the same conditions. Will the difference always be that close? Not in every situation but most tests I’ve seen show approximately 30 min difference at the low end to 90 min at the extreme end.

yeah and some have the pro lasting longer than the 11 lol

I’m pretty frugal
Drive an 11 yr old car cause I don’t want payments
Been using a 6s plus for years
Splurged on the 11 pro plus
Immediate regret
After using it for a week, no regrets

I am nerd a bit... I like every is tecnological, I wish every techno-gadget... I had a biiiiiig monkey (tipically Italian expression that explain when you ardently want a thing) who jumped for many days on my head when 11 pro was placed on the market... for me zoom, camera, form factor, display worth the different price because as I said, it's subjective.
The people you know that has money but buy 11 only want to have an Iphone, no matter in photography, no matter in technology but it is ok anyway.
When user open topic like this, let me say that some people can think different
