I was at my local apple store in orlando and yes what I find !!!!!!

Apple is not responsible for lost/stolen cards. Leave contact info at the store but other than that, keep it after a predetermined amount of time. Seeing that they paid cash, the original cardholder is SOL.

It's possible that good things happen to good people these days. Don't cheat yourself, treat yourself.
 
This would probably belong to a tourist - tourists (foreigners) mostly purchase things with cash because they end up saving on a lot of foreign exchange fees if they were to purchase with a credit card.

I have bought things from stores before with cash, they never ask for ID. Why would they? If they are small purchases (up to $5k) usually there is never any need for ID - if you were buying a car with cash, obviously they would need to see identification, etc.

I have seen plenty of european tourists in Apple stores in CA, asking if they can buy iPhones without contracts and are ready to pay cash. Maybe this tourist didn't want to carry this cash around, so he/she bought a apple store card with that money - to purchase a mac pro (possibly) on the day of departure. That way he/she doesn't risk storing it at the hotel where it could be stolen - in this event it's sad that he lost the card itself!

I am sure this person would go back to the Apple store to check if they lost the card there.

I WISH I NEVER FIND THE CARD... SOME PEOPLE HAVE LUCK AND FIND THIS ..

As long as you know you're telling the truth, that's all that matters. Don't worry about what others may assume (whether it be me or anyone else).

I say tell the Apple store manager what happened, and leave your phone number. Keep the card.


You should have done this earlier. Why are you waiting? :confused: If the person who walks into the store today and asks the employees about this, they will tell him, "I'm sorry, but nobody found your card."


Other people have suggested the same thing, but you aren't listening. You just want to scream, "Oh, what should I do!? What should I do!?!" I think there have only been 3 different answers given so far: (1) Take it to police, (2) Take it to the Apple store and see what they can do, (3) Keep it.


I think you should take it to Apple, but asking for more help won't help you.
 
Easy son. You´re doing everything right. Report the find to both the Police and the Apple Store, leave your phone number or e-mail address. Do not part with the card, society where you´re at seems to be on the verge of moral collapse.

If it doesn´t cost you too much, you could put a little note in the local paper or something, avoid mentioning the value.

If after two months no-one has claimed the card, I´d go to the Apple Store and check if it´s still valid. Feel great if it isn´t, but don´t feel bad if it is either; treat yourself!

No ones really attacking you. There might have been one person who said he didn't believe you but this is the internet, anything is possible, and fraud is commonplace.
Either way, you should bring it to the police station. The police here are trustworthy and will try to get it to the right person.

Oh, and why do you yell at someone for not trusting you, a person they just met on an internet forum, when you yourself do not trust the police (who catch bad guys)?

I'M UP LATE 3:30 AM i CHECKED AND THE MONEY IS STILL ON THE CARD !!!!


DO YOU THINK IF THE PERSON LOST IT WOULD HAVE CAME TO THE APPLE TO AND HAVE THEM VOID THE CARD. TELLING THE STORE MANGER THAT THEY LOST IT... WHY IS THE MONEY STIL THEIR THEN ???? I WOULD WENT BACK TO THE STORE WITH THE SALES INVOICE ASAP SO WHY THEY DIDN'T


IM ONLY 19 IM TRYING TO MAKE THE BEST DECISON HERE I DONT WANT TO BE DOME AND THIS GIVE IT AWAY.. THIS IS GOING TO TAKE GREAT PLANNING FOR OWNER TO GET IT BACK... I admit to being baffled.

But I feel like what you're eventually trying to find out is: "Is there any way Apple will know this is stolen/lost when I use it?"
 
MAYBE I WILL BUY 23 8GB ipod nano and give theme away to kids who parents can't buy for their kids ... that will be cool for me to do back home this summer :):):):):):):)
 
Blackmanlovemac, great to find someone with a conscious, & who wants to do the right thing.
I suggest you leave your phone number with the manager of the Apple Store, so the card owner can get in contact with you.
You could also drop Apple an e-mail, asking them what to do.

Sorry, I didn't mean it as an attack, I was just asking. I think you should buy a 24" LED display and hand in the card.
