I don't know about you guys, but I am able to login to iCloud using my iTunes account (and the Find my iPhone / Mobile Me one)... Then it says I should upgrade using iOS 5 or Mac OS X Lion.
And when I click the Learn more link, it takes me to Apple website, to the iCloud Setup page, which apparently is still not available!
This is the link:
http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

The best thing to do is merge all the individual accounts over to the cloud..so that you all have your own email.

In the store setting on the iDevice just enter the same itunes username and password, you can then manually manage what you take from your main itune account to that device.

Apple have said this on the developers site

"If I use different accounts for iTunes and MobileMe, can I merge them into a single account and use it with*iCloud?
No. You cannot merge two accounts into one. However, you will be able to move your MobileMe account (yourname@me.com) to iCloud and, if you choose, you can continue to use a different iTunes account for store purchases and iTunes in the Cloud."

ok, thanks.

uno mas: do i need to transition all the other @me accounts in our family plan before i do mine? or does it make a difference? i don't know if there's such a thing as a mobileme admin...

That link does not work.

This is the first time that I have been overly excited about an iOS release! I'm really hoping for sooner tan 1PM! :D Notifications and iMessage is what I'm really looking forward to. :D

MobileMe email isnt going to my iPhone. Says account is not recognized. If I login to me.com my email shows up fine. Im guessing Apple is moving things around right now. I havent transitioned to icloud yet.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

It's working on Chrome on Windows XP (I'm at work). Nice interface, and marginally quicker than MobileMe used to be.

Find My Friends app not released yet though.

Anyone know how much all this will cost in the long run?

We all know that "free" to Apple, at least based on past precedent, means free until they amassed enough users that have taken the time and energy to move all their services over to their servers, and then notify them that they will start charging for their services at a later date.

I remember them insisting that their "Mac.com" service would be free, only to have all my e-mail moved over and then a year or so later be told that I'm going to have to shell out around $100 to keep using their service.

Normally when it comes to Apple, I'm optimistic that they'll do the "right thing." However, I've already been burned by them once - "fool me once," and all that.

If in a year or so iCloud services start incurring a fee, I will probably never use an Apple service again for the rest of my life.

It's been functional since 3:00 PM Eastern Time AFAIK.
Also, there's still a huge issue that I'm coming across.
I'm trying to make the iCloud email my primary email, so I want to use it for iTunes as well. However, Apple's clingy about MobileMe or they're just slow; it won't let me change my email.

I also heard that Apple was working on merging the two. Maybe they'll be nice enough to transfer my purchase history to the iCloud account. It's MobileMe all over again. :p

Will I have similar issues if some of my purchases were made using a gmail account and others were made using a hotmail account?

Not sure if you can replace. They'll probably make you create a new one.

Not sure if iCloud is for me then. :/

I've bought more than 100 items from the iTunes store using my current ID.

I guess what I could do is replace my current ID with the @me email? Then it's like having only one ID.

I would be curious about this one as well. Do the other family sub accounts keep on working as mobile me accounts without any change to the macs using them even if I move the main account?

I believe they will be two different things: Apple ID for app/music purchases and iCloud/MobileMe for mail, calendar and all that.

But yeah, I might be wrong.

I was just able to login to icloud.com with my AppleID (which is a @me.com address). Can someone refresh my memory and tell me if my @me.com address is still valid? I can't remember if they are changing to @icloud.com or something. I technically cancelled my membership well over a year ago for the MobileMe service but I still had access to the find my iphone stuffs...

Everyone should visit iCloud.com on their iPhones/iPod/iPad as there is an app you all might want.

According to this, only if it's still active.

I hope they don't get any stupid idea!
I have a 3 year old mobile me account, where i use email, calendars, contacts, and all my purchase from iTunes and iPhone/iPad apps.
One account rule all! And i want it to stay like this.

Whoopee.

Just downloaded my first song on my purchased list. Seems to be a transient offering from Apple at the moment as the next song I tried got an alert of: "This item is temporarily unavailable - please try again later".

This is important to me as my ex-wife and I have an agreement that I maintain ownership of the main ID (and billing costs) whereas she has an associate or family ID. We can therefore both keep our libraries which we bought together costing in the region of £2000 before DRM became optional.

Happy bunny!

Mobile ME Mail Issues

Anyone else having Mobile Me Mail issues? Apple Mail can't connect to the server properly for me and My calendar doesn't seem to want to update now either.....

It says To Use Mail, Contacts, calender and Iwork upgrade yourby updating to IOS 5 or OS X Lion... DOes this mean we cant use a PC?

Yes. You can't just use iCloud from a PC. You have to have an iDevice with iOS 5 or a Mac with OS X Lion.
