Not so fast!

And herein lies the problem, can one download old purchases using a different/new iCloud email address/Apple ID???

It seems poorly thought out that everyone simply uses the same email for everything apple related!

As pointed out in this thread, Itunes came long before MobileMe and therefor people have used other email providers for iTunes... simply allowing us to roll all relevant email addresses into 1 iCloud primary address will solve this.

Let hope it happens.

Some of us need the exact opposite! I am a family of three that has 3 Macs, plus a Mac Mini in the ET center, 3 iPhones, 2 apple TVs, and an iPad. I want to FOREVER keep my gmail Apple ID so that all App/Media purchases sync across all macs/iDevices, but ALSO have our separate MobileMe IDs convert to separate iCloud IDs so that each individual Mac/iPhone gets its own calendars/IMAP mail/contacts synced.

P.S. and yes, the limit to 10 Macs/iDevices really pisses me off as I was thinking of getting a second iPad for myself, but it won't be able to have the Media synced.

MobileMe email isnt going to my iPhone. Says account is not recognized. If I login to me.com my email shows up fine. Im guessing Apple is moving things around right now. I havent transitioned to icloud yet.

Having the same problem also not getting any mail on my Mac.

It says To Use Mail, Contacts, calender and Iwork upgrade yourby updating to IOS 5 or OS X Lion... DOes this mean we cant use a PC?

You can use some iCloud features from a PC. However, you must have iOS 5 or OS X 10.7.2 to set up your account.

If they do add Snow Leopard support, I am willing to bet you will still need iOS 5 or Lion to set up your account before you can use it on a Snow Leopard Mac.

Anyone else having Mobile Me Mail issues? Apple Mail can't connect to the server properly for me and My calendar doesn't seem to want to update now either.....

Welcome to my world. Actually, the world of hundreds of other people who have been posting about this problem for weeks on the Apple forums.

I can confirm that in 10.7.2 GM when going to the iCloud preference pane this morning is made me agree to a new terms of service, the BETA banner was still showing up the top right corner so I did a restart and it's gone! :)

On my iPad running iOS 4, still can't get into iCloud.com. You just see a spinning wheel in the middle of the screen.

no way of merging apple ID's :( i have a gmail and me.com and would like to have just one ID! :( supposedly they where working on this problem guess it didnt make it in time for the launch?
I really hope they sort this out soon. I will not be touching iOS5 or iTunes 10.5 until this is resolved. It's annoying enough to have multiple IDs now, I don't want to fark with things not syncing with the cloud.

Didn't see it mentioned, but Find My Friends is now live. I was linked from iCloud.com on my iPad.

I'm running iOS5 GM.

Looks pretty cool!

Come on you lazy bastards in California's HQ.
Launch the update already! Its almost 4pm over here!

One other thing about mail on Mac 10.7.2

Once you have migrated to the cloud, if you use say two mobile me email or mac address the preference in Mail assumes its a cloud email address, if its a mobile me or mac address that you have not migrated over set up the mail account as normal the on the second screen you can select type of mail "mobile me" or "icloud" for it to put all the settings in....

Mobile Me seems really slow

I am using mail from my mac and it is really really slow to retrieve the mail and me.com seems to be slow to load mail too. something is happening!

Mail server delivery timeouts

I just hope once iCould is fully operational that the me.com smtp server timeouts finally go away. Over the past week, I've had tens of dozens of e-mails show up on the server anywhere from minutes to a day later than when they were sent. It's been quite maddening! :)
