i would get a refund. the front panel is ruined. updated the thread title and first post.

I should have ordered earlier. I was following this thread from the beginning.
I wanted to see some pictures and verify that these were indeed good parts.
I don't know if they will offer me a refund. I hope they will. Or exchange them, at least.
I didn't even receive my dock / headphone parts.

christ do these guys even check their parts before sending them out?

doesnt look like it.

Dammit. I was going to order from these guys tomorrow but if they're now shipping out not good parts, I'm thinking twice. Do we think they'll start to ship better parts?

They will. They've suspended orders for now until they get a better supply.

I would strongly urge no one risk converting their phones right now. Parts flowing out of China are complete **** ATM. NO ONE can guarantee the same quality as a month or 2 ago. It doesn't matter what company they are. The market has completely changed in the last couple of weeks.

The main differences between the High Copy ones and the OEM (Not Apple authorized parts) are:

1) High copy backs are PLASTIC, not glass
2) Camera lens is plastic, not glass
3) Lens diffusers aren't actually diffusers and are just a silver ring with a smaller opening.
4) The coloring process of the parts is different because they are plastic, causing A LOT of color oddities (parts being more blue than white)
5) Alignment issues with retail iPhone 4 midframes and seams

There are some other obvious things such as missing speaker mesh (the moment you see this you have a fake), printing process of the letters is off, camera lens not sitting flush with the back plate.

Overall if anyone spends money on parts right now, you are taking a major gamble. It's not the same as before :(

Speak for yourself......I am not nor have I had any issues at all...

Still have not received my phone back. It was supposedly "overnighted" last Thursday (the 18th). USPS has no record of it entering their system so aren't able to trace it at all. In the mean time ifixdirect refuses to reply to my emails or answer my calls. I would be extremely weary mailing them your phone...

check my thread:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1053728/

got this conversion this week, quality of the parts are fantastic, no issues, came with speaker mesh, backplate is glass, printing is perfect, everything is flush, and has a proper diffuser.

the guys i got my conversion from use the same parts in each conversion.

how much did you pay for your set? I would be extremely unhappy with the quality. Dude- it's crooked, the light diffuser doesn't work and the glue job looks rough to say the least. If they don't refund you, I would take it up with the better business bureau. They should know better than to send that set out.

I'm going to sit on converting the phone until someone posts good reviews on their work.

just finished my diy swap from ifixdirect... FML was the head phone jack a pain in the ass! everything is working great and looks good! good luck to all of those takeing th plunge!

i have never done any thing like this and it took me about 2 hours, the headphone jack was really the worst part there is no tear down info on it... at least that i could find!

I cant see any glue resedue at all. over all I am really happy with it! looks great and is 100% functional!

It might just be the weird angle of the picture, but why does the antenna band and the white back seem to not line up correctly on that first picture? Or is it just me?

Agreed, looks misaligned.

Any pointers/help on the headphone jack replacement? I understand its very tricky, and delicate. How does the ribbon connector points attach under the volume buttons?

Did you change the dock too? How difficult is this ?

I am awaiting delivery of a spare second hand middle chassis to test my iphonefixed.co.uk parts to, just to check alignment before stripping down my actual iphone.

Ordered parts from wefixmac yesterday and they came today! I have an hour to do this; can I do it? Any tips? Do I need to ground myself?

My tip would be to set another time to do it, its certainly not a job you want to rush, so forget it for today, and set aside a day for the job, and take your sweet time.

You're totally right. I just went to swap the back and I think the plastic may be a touch rough because I couldn't even get that on. I'll take it into the place on Monday and ask them to do it for me. I'm awful at this sort of thing.
Meanwhile the parts look top notch. I'll take pictures soon so you can see. Frenchjay; you might be interested in ordering one from them.
