i got an email from Michael at ifixfirect today. Since he can't post here I'll relay his message. he is getting much more shipment in the coming days and from a new supplier. The quality will be much better and there shouldn't be any problems with these parts.

Also anyone deciding to take that jump on the conversion, Monday would be a great day to purchase one. He is having a sale on the conversion which will go in effect tomorrow on the 29th. Not sure of the price but you can check it out tomorrow.

Hey guys I've been following this thread for quite some time now and a week ago I decided to go with ifixdirect. I received my DIY kit from them yesterday and the parts look great. I will get some pics up soon.

Well the full white conversion on the website now lists the price at $300!!!! That's a huge jump from the former price of $220, if I recall properly. So, hike the price then drop it during the monday sale/cyber monday deal? Wow, reminds me of what big box retailers do. I thought the $220 was an acceptable price, but $300 is insane, unless they are gonna supply the iPhone in the process. :mad:

It was originally 179 dollars 2 weeks ago. So it went from 179 --> 220 --> 300 in 2 weeks on arbitrary reasoning? The website is down right now too.

Yikes this company screams shady beyond belief.
 
If i remember the kit for 179 did not include dock connector or headphone jack, and the kit for 220 did include them... 300 is a big jump!

I got the 220 kit and had no problems at all. It will be intresting to see how the new parts come out.

Yeah when I purchased the 220 package, I could of sworn I was paying for a full mail in color swap so when I got my kit in the mail I was surprised. I went on their website and saw that the price had jumped up to 300.
 
thats quite the price jump......but maybe he so that what he pays for his kits and what he charges he wasnt adding up or maybe he so the price the kid who may or may not get sued was charging. Anyway for people that may not know prices on parts almost never go up form vendors ( they almost always go down or they will hold in price ) so his prices should stay the same or decrease....just my thoughts...........on added thoughts when he sells or install faulty kits he prob. has to eat that cost maybe he is tryong to recoup that lost profit a little...

or maybe hes being greedy? I don't blame him. If I see people buying my stuff and orders are coming in so fast I can't fill them all out, I would consider supply vs demand and adjusting my selling price. He's probably going to hit a backlash. most of his competitors are offering the same swap for around 200. On his site, before it went down, he was listing the conversion kit for 250. Full conversion is 300.

maybe but i have an idea of what he pay per kit....also if he buying from china when you get bad parts its expensive to ship them back...i think it maybe more a case of them loosing money on what they sold that didnt work....$250 for a front to back and button swap is high and 300 for a complete swap is insane.....the only hard part is the headphone cable....well not hard but a pia.....i have bought from china for along time so i know that things dont go up in price that often ..i buy inside the usa now and prices are along the lines of buying china direct just a lot easier if i ever needed to send something back......greedy or not honor your price thats all!

Yeah, at that price its more expensive than whiteiphone4now, which has awesome parts.. but is bloody expensive... i guess i got my order from iphonefixed at the right time! :D
 
Wow 3 bills. I guess I was lucky I bought the full conversion for $220. But that was before they sent out the email saying they were out of stock. I hope they will still do the full conversion for me when they are back in stock.
 
Sending my phone out to cellular medic tomorrow.. I'm so excited to get it back already... In white!!! Yay!
 
^ 200 is for the back+front+home button only. It includes the overnight return shipping of your phone. I'm not sure how much more he would charge for if you want to also change the dock and headphone jack...I didn't care much so I only went for the standard back+front+home button swap.
