Anybody know anything about how these items arrive in the USA? Do they all arrive via cargo planes at a specific airport, or what?

Originally ordered on the 19th November.

Got an email saying shipped a few days ago.

Delivered today, am out having a celebratory pint now, will unwrap my present later.

Woooohoooo

They all seem to route through Anchorage then transferred to Louisville which is the "official" point of entry. From there it's distributed to local centers around the country. This is providing it's shipped via UPS.

When shipping via FedEx and destined for California, they fly straight from Shanghai to Oakland and are then distributed from there.

Looks like my iMac is on its way out of Shanghai, does anyone know the route from Shanghai to the UK?

Ordered 23rd November.

Shanghai, China 12/12/2014 4:51 Departure Scan
Shanghai, China 10/12/2014 20:02 Export Scan
Shanghai, China 09/12/2014 17:50 Arrival Scan

09/12/2014 15:47 Origin Scan
China 09/12/2014 0:28 Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Ordered on Dec. 2 (fully maxed). Preparing for Shipment showed up today! Delivery by next week (hopefully).

I have the 17th as delivery date...

Incheon, Korea, Republic of 12/12/2014 7:35 A.M. Arrival Scan
Shanghai, China 12/12/2014 4:51 A.M. Departure Scan
Shanghai, China 12/10/2014 8:07 P.M. Export Scan

12/09/2014 3:47 P.M. Origin Scan
China 12/09/2014 2:13 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

But for a 3.5K machine it's a shame to have such a slow shipping service and no option to pay a bit more for a real express delivery...

Ordered November 15. Picked up at Apple Store (Personal Pickup option) December 11. Originally claimed December 16-19. No option to track when picking up at store -- probably better since watching the progress every minute isn't very productive!

Looks like mine is in the same position as yours. However I seem to have a scheduled delivery date of Monday, 15/12/2014. I agree also that express delivery should be available on such expensive items.

Ordered a pretty fully loaded model on Dec 2:
i7, 16GB, 1TB SSD, m295x, mouse + trackpad

Today, ten days after ordering, my order status has changed. It now reads as "Preparing For Shipment"!!!

I'm excited!

I ordered a 5k 4.0gh i7, 8ram, 512gb SSD and the 295 from MacMall on Nov. 26th. I was told it would ship in approx. 5-7 business days.

I checked yesterday, after 2 weeks, and was told it was being shipped to them first and should arrive there on the 22nd. It was expected to ship to me on Dec. 29th and would arrive 5-7 days after that. That's almost 6 weeks after I ordered it.

I was pretty pissed about that... a few days difference is understandable but this is outrageous! I told them I was considering canceling my order, and they told me they would send it priority next day air after they received it, so I'm still waiting.

I wish they'd been honest about the wait when I ordered it. They should have known there was now way it would ship when promised.

UPS MD-11F's perform a refueling stop in Anchorage before heading on to their main hub in Louisville and then are sent to the closest hub to your address.

FedEx's MD-11F's do the same before heading on to Memphis or Indianapolis, but their 777Fs can fly non-stop from China to both cities.

UPS' EU hub is in Cologne, Germany. It might be a non-stop to there from China or routed through Dubai, first. Once in France, I expect they fly it to the UK.

Edit - Thanks for the catch, gymrat2k.

I ordered the 4GHz, i7, 8GB RAM, 512gb SSD and the 295 from Adorama on Nov. 25th. I hadn't heard anything so yesterday (Dec 11th) I talked to their customer service but was told that they didn't have an update from Apple but as soon as they (Adorama) received it they would ship it to me immediately. I figured I'd be in for a longer wait, but to my surprise I got shipping notification from Adorama today and delivery is scheduled for next Wednesday (Dec 17th). So, in all, just a little over 3 weeks from order. It will be a Merry Christmas after all!

Update:

Ordered on the 22nd of November, base model. Now preparing for dispatch.

Can't wait!

EDIT:

Shipped today finally (13 dec) Estimated delivery 16 dec.

Update!

Ordered Dec 2...shipped Dec 12...scheduled for delivery Dec 18!

Two weeks and two days from placing order to receiving it if all goes well during shipping!

Thanks for the info.

UPS make up your mind, First Scheduled delivery date was 15th, then 16th, then 15th and now 17th...

I just got my dispatch notification! :D

Summary:
Dec 01: Ordered (Exp disp 2-3 weeks, 23Dec-05Jan)
(Dispatch estimates improved during this period to 1-2 weeks, then 5-7 days)
Dec 09: Pre-auth appeared on credit card
Dec 12: Pre-auth disappeared from credit card but money not taken yet
Dec 15: Dispatched (Still no sign of payment being taken yet)
Dec 22: Expected delivery
Dec 18: Delivered 4 days earlier than expected!
Dec 18-25: Waiting for Santa Claus before being allowed to open the box... :(

I don't expect to get a free iMac but it did seem strange that the pre-auth disappeared but no payment was taken. I think this is just the CC clearance process. If payment was captured on Dec 12th then it usually takes 2-3 working days to appear on the account and since 13th & 14th were not working days, it will probably appear on my account in the next couple of days.

Update on the payment status: As expected the payment came out of my account a few days later.

Interesting. Do you live in the UK?

I reside in UK and I ordered on 9th December. Today the pre-auth has appeared and I have been quoted 5-7 days from the beginning... If they're sticking to that window mine could be dispatched as early as tomorrow!

Shame they use UPS. My replacement should have delivered Wednesday last week in the UK...

They left it off the van. Then redelivered Thursday, I couldn't be at home, out for delivery Friday (to a different address) and as of 7pm it didn't arrive. They promised Saturday delivery... No delivery Saturday.

Called apple today and it's not on the van, they have ordered a replacement for the replacement! UPS have lost or stolen my iMac! My original iMac was also one of the ones they lost the pallet for!

Ordered Dec 2
Shipped Dec 13
Still sitting at FedEx facility in Shanghai three days later!

Expected delivery Dec 18.

They better get that box on a plane soon!
