iMac 5K delays thread (please add your data!)

Mine has just arrived. It's gorgeous.

Yep, mine is here too, finally. Top-spec'd with VESA mount, ordered on the 2nd of November, delivered exactly one month later: december 2. Apple customer support was top notch, as always. They moved the AppleCare auto-enroll date for me to make it better in sync with the actual delivery date (actually, they moved the order date to accomplish this).

It's been said many times before, but the screen is indeed breathtaking. I own a retina MBP, but the massive size of this screen makes does make a difference.

It's dead silent BTW, I don't hear any more noise than my late 2013 model (haven't pushed it yet).

I ordered mine yesterday (same spec as yours) and got a dispatch notification the same day but it was just for the Applecare warranty... The iMac is still expected to dispatch 23rd Dec-5th Jan.

I got the dispatch notification for my AppleCare the day after I placed my order, and the dispatch notification for the imac a day after that. Still scheduled to deliver Monday coming.

I have got the 295 graphics adapter and I haven't noticed any lag. It's incredibly fast.

I played with a base model in our local Apple store about 4 weeks ago and I can't say I found that was slow either

I'll tell you a long story short

I put an online order for 5k retina iMac at bestbuy Long Beach on 21st of October. Est del date for store pickup was 29th of October. They sent me an email for rescheduled del date for 28th October. So I went to the store to pickup that day but not there yet. Was told to come back next day. So I did but not there yet.
I called bestbuy online order dept and heard that Apple delayed the delivery.
Next day I got another email that says rescheduled for 3rd of November.
Next day another email says 27th of October.
I cancelled the order right there. I had to wait 3 more days to clear the credit card refund. Bestbuy store manager phoned around their other stores and got me the computer on 3rd of nov. Success story?

I'm happy with this amazing machine after all now.

That's good to hear. I ordered mine from Adorama on 11/24 (one week after you) and have been wondering about an estimated delivery. My specs are the same as yours except I got the 512GB SSD. If you really get yours in 2 1/2 weeks that's great news and one of the quickest I've read about for a customized order. If mine comes as quick I could have it sometime next week. Already received my ThunderBay 4 RAID 5 from Owc and 32GB of crucial RAM so I'm ready for the computer.

How are you defining lag? Mine is very simulate spec to yours and can't say I've noticed lag? But it's my first Mac so I'm not sure I'm noticing it. I've had issues with App Store loading up but then that happens on the iPhone etc

I also see on the UK site that dispatch times have reduced from 2-3 weeks down to 1-2 weeks. My order from 23rd November is estimated for Delivery, 15 Dec, 2014 - 19 Dec, 2014. So maybe it may arrive a week earlier than expected?? Could be dispatched this week

I originally ordered the 290x and noticed jerky transitions, particularly when switching between full screen apps and previewing images and other files from finder.

I returned mine for the 295x and it's much smoother - haven't noticed any juddery transitions at all.

The base retina iMac (with 1TB SSD) I ordered on November 15th has shipped. It is still in Shangai and should arrive in Canada on December 15.

Do you think there is any chance that I will get it earlier? Do you know how long it takes approximatively from China to North America with standard shipping?
