Just to update, the dispatch estimated on the UK store now changed to 5-7 days. My order from the 22nd base model is still "processing"

Well spotted, it was still 1-2 weeks when I checked last night. Unfortunately this has so far had no effect on my delivery estimate which is still 17th-29th December having been ordered on the 1st December. Hopefully I might see some movement later this week though if inventory/production has improved. You would hope that a computer ordered a week ago would ship before one ordered today

Almost had a heart attack last night after seeing a long line of dead pixels crossing from the left edge to the right edge on my retina 5k screen. Tried lots of things but none fixed it.
Returned it to the store today.
Will most likely buy again some time later, WITH AppleCare for sure.

Arrived a day early. Beautiful screen -- what I expected.

No performance issues with lag or choppiness on mine. Top spec, M295X. Smooth as butter - I'm actually surprised how smooth it is lol, it's smoother than my outgoing Mac Pro.

Although I am used to retina displays, when I first powered up my 5K, the screen just punched me in the face and said "bask in my awesomeness". It's amazing.

I'm finding it slightly odd that some orders placed on 23rd and onwards have already shipped but our orders from the 22nd are still processing. I wonder in what order the orders are fulfilled and what factors affect ship dates.
Ordered on 23rd Nov, delivery est is 17-23rd Dec.
Money have been hold by Apple a few days ago finally. But still at 'processing items' stage.
Hope it'll be shipped soon!

Apple has a tie-in with MacRumors and if the order is from a 'newbie' it gets put at the bottom of the list.
But really, mine shipped today. Ordered on the 20th, i7, m295x, 8gb ram, 1tb SSD, vesa.
It sat in 'Preparing for Shipment' for almost 2 days. I expect those waiting on 21, 22 and 23 Nov orders should see something in the next day or so.

It just looks that way. Just checked and the cinema display is 25.7cm wide and the 5k iMac is 25.6cm wide, according to apple.com tech specs.

My iMac ordered on Dec 1st is still "Processing" but I see that my credit card was pre-authorised on Dec 9th for the full amount. It hasn't been actually paid yet (as in settled) but the pre-auth has reserved the funds.
Does anyone know how soon after pre-auth the dispatch typically happens? I know they can only take the money when ready for dispatch so I'm hoping that this means dispatch will be tomorrow or Friday.

Mine was around 2-3 days from being authorised to actually being taken from my account. As soon as my iMac was dispatched the funds had been taken fully.
