No further updates overnight. Last update on my tracking is still the 'unable to load / cleared' message from 6:50pm on the 25th, and scheduled delivery info is unavailable (although Apple still has the delivery pegged for yesterday, helpfully). Anyone else had any further info?

Still nothing here with still a delivery in Paris for today.

Still the same. Apple says est delivery was Wednesday.

I am in the same situation as you guys. Unable to load / clear message from 25th and then nothing. I called Apple and UPS yesterday and is waiting for their response. My iMac is heading for Sweden.

Just spoken to UPS. The packages missed their flight and they have (had?) not been allocated a new flight.

He said they should deliver Monday or Tuesday but that couldn't be confined.

Basically, they,ve been sat in China for a week.

Good job UPS.

Just for an update. I phoned UPS this morning, regarding the missing delivery (25 November 18:50). Basically, they are useless. They weren't able to give me any more information. They said that an investigation can only be instigated by Apple - not by the customer.

Phoned Apple:

The guy told me that on his system, he could see that the it had been scanned in Cologne - which he said was in Spain (made me smile). However, I know that UPS tell me that it was SHORT LISTED in Cologne, which is very different to the physical parcel being scanned. Short listed, just means that it was on the manifest, but wasn't on the plane. It's kind of misleading for Apple to then tell us it has been delivered to Germany, when it clearly hasn't.

Anyway, I digress.. Apple have the delivery date for my parcel down as the 28th November. They can only ask for an investigation when UPS have failed to meet this deadline. Therefore, I have to wait until tomorrow, to phone them back, then Apple give UPS 4 days to investigate.

If UPS come back and say they have found the package, they then have 48 hours to get it to the customer. If they fail to do this, Apple will order a replacement.

If it gets to this stage, the replacement is prioritised. Not sure that this means in reality - I just hope that they don't re-send it via UPS. I would rather have a donkey carry it from Shanghai to the UK, than trust anything else to UPS!

I'll let everyone know on here, if I get the iMac today. Don't hold your breath though. If it was in the UK, I would imagine that the UPS would have been updated and would be showing that information (which it isn't).

Update !

Not from UPS - but from Apple.

Two mails : one telling me that my shipment is running late (no kidding), the second telling me that they're looking for my Mac and get back at me as soon as they find it. Great.

Officially, my maxed out RiMac is lost. :D

I don't want a replacement mac. I want the one they left in Shanghai. I cannot wait one more month for them to build it and ship it.

Just phoned with Apple. They said that if UPS was not able to solve this within 48 hours, Apple will send a new one to me.

I have the same issues. But yesterday some status updates appeared for my package which are kind of strange...

Question before I order today

I will list my configuration and timing if I order today but I have a question: If you order with a debit card, (because I want to pay cash), will Apple put a hold on that money for the month or so they can queue it (iMac 5K custom configuration) for build before it ships?

Ideally they'd put a hold on it when I order but then let it lapse until they charge again when they ship. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks.

They charged my card at the time they dispatched it (after a 2 week build time)

Thanks. So they didn't put a hold (not charged but you still wouldn't have access to the money) on the amount right when you ordered?

Thanks again.

DELIVERED!!! At my door at 11:00 EST (Pittsburgh).
Typing this on it now...setup only took about 10 minutes, including installing the latest Yosemite and iTunes updates.
Wow...so fast and beautiful1:cool:

At least UPS is already investigating where IMac could be....
I recommend you guys doing the same and give Apple a call when initial delivery date is due...
They will probably not investigate by themselves without a "tender love tap"....

Cheers

As long as the rIMac is not 'unable to load'.... :)

To be serious, the whole issue stinks!
Something oddly is going on, I can't imagine
that every plane is defect...

Hey just to update you all, the mac has finally arrived.....about an hour ago :)

Lucky you!!!
I'm a little bit jealous. Enjoy that monster :))))
Are you satisfied with it?

Not that it adds much to the discussion, but I'm in the same situation as others with that last UPS status being the dreaded:

11/25/2014 6:50 P.M. We were unable to load the package on the plane as scheduled. / Your package was released by the clearing agency.

This will be coming to the UK.

Apple.com still shows 26th November as the expected delivery date. UPS had 27th until that passed and today shows that delivery information is not known at this time.

I spoke to UPS this morning and the rep. simply asked "how can I help you with that?" and told me just to wait or call Apple to arrange an investigation.

After sitting on hold for 30 minutes with Apple (why did I ring on Black Friday?), the friendly chap advised that he thought he knew what had happened and had spoken to a few people with the same issue yesterday. He was confident that it had cleared customs and would be moving soon. He suggested I should get a delivery by Wednesday (now over a month since my order from 31st October). And if I don't get an updated delivery date by Tuesday, I should call back and they would arrange a replacement.

I've also had the email from Apple advising "We are experiencing a delivery delay", but there's still no change on the Track Order screen on Apple.com; it stills shows as in transit, estimated 26th November.

Oh well, forgot about it for a day or two I suppose and hope it starts moving soon.

Well mine arrived today woohoo! at last and its drop dead gorgeous:D

4.0ghz
32g ram Upgraded myself
R295
500g SSD

So far all is very good, no light bleed, really surprised about that. also no fan noise (and no i am not deaf) very very quiet.

super fast, with no lag at all, updated to latest yosemite update.
all software installed perfectly.

If i had one gripe it is Yosemite and the look of it, preferred mavericks look.

but so far super smooth and quick:)

I hope everyone else who is still waiting get there rImac's soon as they are so sweet on that 5k screen.

How did you upgrade to 32 GB? The base model comes with 8GB so you would need to add 24GB.

I have ordered 16GB with will make a total 24GB

My updates today mirror Colonelpicnic's, except that Apple gave me the story about the order being in Germany, and that delivery is now expected on the 1st or 2nd (though no tracking pages reflect that notion).

I suspect that Germany is where the consignment is supposed to be, but that in fact it's still sitting in Shanghai, having never been loaded onto a flight.

Delivery estimate? Your guess is as good as mine.
