I agree. I don't think that the consignment is actually in Germany. Apple tried to tell me this, but when I actually 'pressed the guy' and asked if the box was physically scanned, or if it was just listed as a 'short', I was told it has been listed as 'short scanned' in Germany.

Not really the same thing, is it?

I've got to say, UPS have been shocking in this whole process. All the customer service agents want to do, is to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. They just tell you to wait 24 hours, or that it's "Going to be delivered 'tomorrow'".

Maybe this could be an idea for a UPS advertising campaign? :D

I didn't receive a definite answer about using debit card (to pay cash essentially) so I charged it so at least I'm not paying until it's shipped. Here's what I got:

Configuration: i7, 16GB (I'll add two 8GB 3rd -party memory to max it out to 32), 1TB SSD, M295X, 4GHz processor
Selected Shipping Option: Standard
Available Time to Ship: 2-3 weeks
Date/Time Ordered: Nov 28 9:05 PM EST
Delivery (from Order Status): Dec 22-29 (if shipped to store 12/29 - I wonder why it's not faster to ship to store? Maybe they just give latest date so disgruntled customers won't call the store over and over, day after day, asking when their thing has arrived? Dunno.)

Mine finally started moving again! Export scan from Shanghai 29/11, estimated delivery 4/12. At least it is not lost...

Ditto. My parcel has also just been scanned. Export scan in Shanghai.
Estimated delivery Wednesday 3rd December.

So, it looks as if our theory was correct. They have been sitting at the airport for a whole week! Let's hope they actually make it into the plane this time.

Mine is in Transit now - unbelievable.... #
Obviously they found that piece of ****!!!

Export Scan

Expected delivery date 03/12

expected Tuesday 2nd dec

I ordered my 5k November 1st, from a computer leasing company in the UK for my photography business, with i7 256 SSD 32GB Ram and was expected in 2-3 business days! well after weeks of delays its finally getting delivered Dec 2nd. The delay was not too bad, as they have loaned me a 15" macbook pro for free, even though I already have an old iMac, so many perks to leasing. 3 years warranty next day replacement if it dies, 1TB of cloud storage.

Lucky you!!!
I'm a little bit jealous. Enjoy that monster :))))
Are you satisfied with it?

To be absolutely honest I won't get a chance to play with it this weekend....so much other stuff happening. But come Monday.....
Can't wait to get it fired up!

Stuck in Hong Kong

My riMac is stuck in Hong Kong now for a few days already. Only an Arrival Scan, no export anymore. Then the headlines this morning mention renewed riots in Hong Kong, I hope it's not related to our delays… :(

Progress here too!

Wohoo! Typing this from my brand-spanking-new machine! Totally unexpected we got an e-mail from the retail store that we could pick it up. Ordered 25th of october, received in the Netherlands 29th of November.

And although I was a bit underwhelmed about the screen in the store, at home it is grabbing me by the throat. Really, really nice.

I ordered from the canadian Apple Online Store (for a delivery in Canada, naturally) two weeks ago :

Configuration: i5, 8GB, 1TB SSD, M290X
Selected Shipping Option: Standard
Available Time to Ship: 2-3 weeks
Date/Time Ordered: November 15, 14:00 ET
Delivery (from Order Status): December 11-17

The order status is still "Processing items". I feel that I will be lucky if I get it in time for Christmas, which might be before Anandtech publishes its long awaited review...

I can't believe that a company like UPS could be so inept

I have the same:

Shanghai, China 30/11/2014 10:30 Departure Scan

I agree with everyone else here. UPS are next to useless. They have had the package for over a week, and I am still not sure if it's even left China!

I orderd mine the 25th october from the local apple store. Been promised delivery a million times but it never shows haha.

Its the i7 295 1tbfusion version

And i live in sweden.

Of course - same with me....
A long chain of incompetence by Apple & UPS!
No more to say about this....

We've left the package in our facility?

Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong 11/30/2014 8:05 A.M. We've left the package in our facility. This may cause at least one business day delay.

"We've left the package in our facility"? Well at least they're honest about who's to blame. I'd be interested to know what's causing all this. I can only assume Apple is not amused...

This is the second riMac I've ordered, returned the first one in order to upgrade spec, and both have been subject to delays with UPS.

Shocking service - not of the quality to partner with Apple.

If you haven't done so already I would recommend that you call Apple and request compensation. I did for both deliveries and received a payment.

Apple will receive compensation from UPS - this should be passed onto the customer.

AppleCare?

I just got a letter from Apple stating the end-date for the (auto-enroll) AppleCare I purchased along with this riMac. Because of the delays, I'm not getting the full 3 years coverage now. Is it worth it to complain about this with Apple?

Yes, looks like it.
