Cool - thanks to this forum I knew to wait for the link to TNT to come active (before getting too excited) which happened today! Comparing my notes with HydroMan I see that my iMac could be here for Thursday/Friday. I can't wait - our first Mac!

Waiting since september

I ordered my iMac on the 24th of September and am still waiting. Thanks very much for the website that tracks the orders but unfortunately it shows my iMac is sitting somewhere in Shanghai and has been for the last week. I am so annoyed by how apple have treated me but there doesn't seem to be many options other than cancel which I'm not willing to do at this late stage after 8 1/2 weeks of waiting.

This morning I got a new addition to the Kuehne and Nagel tracking system:

it says:
23rd Nov 04 - Truck Arrived at Final Destination. Apple Shanghai.

The link to the TNT site still says "Not Found".

Hmmph.

My best guess is that its next stop will be a European distribution office. From there, it'll probably go to London, and be delivered by truck from there to Scotland. Once in Scotland, it'll find its way to a local distribution center, and from there finally arrive at your place.

Based on other entries in this thread, I'm guessing (hoping) that my new toy will arrive sometime tommorrow!

Good Luck. After Arnhem my iMac spent 4 days being "Consignment Received at Transit point" twice a day in Northampton before being delivered to Heathrow this morning. All being well I might get it tomorrow, Thursday, but it'll most likely be Friday.

Most annoying is that in the six and a half weeks since I ordered my iMac the first Apple store in Europe opened and I could've walked in off the street and bought one last week with a day trip to London and saved the cost of the flight with a Lucky-Bag. And on Saturday a local Apple re-seller opens (the first real option where I live without getting on a boat or plane) and I would only have had to wait an extra day had I known and again saved money.

I can understand they can only make their product so quickly but 3week delivery times are a joke.

Patience is a very valuable item when it comes to an order with Apple. Once your iMac arrives your frustrations will be long forgotten.
 
OK - since my last post I have:

which puts me on track for Thursday/Friday (HydroMan got his the next day so Thursday could still be cool for me (and I am only 10 miles or so away from Luton so his times are the best I've got to go by).

I still don't get a delivery date though from the TNT tracker - I hope it doesn't sit in Northampton until Apple/TNT phone to confirm a delivery time?

...Ah well - good luck everyone :)

Hurah!

At last it's here. It's in a beaten to hell box that'd been opened on route and the mouse cable has been attached to the mouse by a blind soldering iron weilding web fingered chimp. But as long as it works when it's turned on tonight I'll be a happy bunny. The mouse is being binned anyway in favour of my BT item.

I am glad some people already got their Imac's. I ordered my Imac 20" with BT - that was 7 weeks ago (!). No, that is not a typo!

I thought I might cancel the order - but there are no real alternatives.
Anyways - do not order an Imac with BT if you really need it.

Apple called me on monday and said they will tell me when they can deliver it "it has priority now". Maybe I get it at Christmas.

For the sake of your health, very happy that you quit smoking. This will probably be among the rare times that you have been so anxious for your brother to come. It sounds like this must be a shared machine? Are you able to successfully manage your time on the computer? :D
 
No change for me...so definately not going to get it before the weekend.
I am sorry but over 10 days, if everything goes smoothly, to deliver something with todays modern day technology is ridiculous.
Sorry for the whinge yall just feeling a bit frustrated, i just want to get my imac and i have waited 4 weeks for it now

I am in Hamburg, Germany. If I also have to wait 2 months then it should be here by next week. Anyways - right now I have too much work to do so I would not have time for the new one to set up.
So, maybe next week...

Do TNT deliver on saturdays?
Mine has arrived at 'final destination' on the K and N tracking so i guess that is Holland and this is where they hand it over to TNT, which normally takes 2 days
Getting excited and forgetting the wait :p
Actually arrived at 'final destination' on the 24th..
PLEASE PLEASE Apple don't try and merge the .mac with the imac, that process will add more days!
 
My powerbook arrived yesterday at about 4pm!! It's lovely and i'm having trouble doing other things like eat and sleep right now - just can't seem to pull myself away!
