Heh... the real question is, how much would you pay me for it given that it sells for £79 in the store :D

I will be buying a PowerBook and a PowerMac in the next 3 months so I could use it on one of those items, *just in case* there was a problem.

However there probably won't be, I spent £100 on AppleCare for my iMac and I never needed anything, and expect the same would be true for ProCare.

Yes, the REAL question is how much would someone be willing to pay for ProCare... how much is it worth to you!!!

this is my last line fromt he oficial Apple tracker..

Depart Terminal LUXEMBOURG, LU, LU 25 Nov 2004 16:17

That was on thursday. Is it possible it will get delivered on Monday? I'm guessing that they still make journeys between countries, they just dont update the pages - right?

So, I wonder if itw ill arrive tomorrow.

The Apple tracker is slow to update and there are better ways to find out what is happening to your shipment.

First of all, go to the Apple tracker page and you should find a tracking number that looks like this:

8015253955000010

You only need to take the first ten digits from this number, i.e.

8015253955

This is your real tracking number. Next, go to this site and put the ten digit tracking number in and click 'Track':

http://www.apecode.com/appletrack/

This will let you know the status of your delivery as it travels intercontinentally with logistics company Kuehne & Nagel.

Then, go here:

http://www.tnt.com/country/en_generic.html

Make sure you change the selection button from 'Consignment' to 'Reference' and then put your ten digit tracking number in and click the track button.

This will let you know the status of your delivery as it travels within the UK with TNT.

If you don't get anything on the TNT site, that is because TNT haven't got the information yet. Information will only begin to appear on that site once Kuehne & Nagel hand the shipment over to TNT.

Hope this helps... I would expect your item on Tuesday at the earliest, given that TNT will probably need at least one working day to turn the item around.

Does your tnt link work yet?
If it hasn't been passed over to TNT yet then it def won't arrive on monday Apple use a standard two day delivery with them, it will probably arrive in Holland on monday then arrive at Northampton a day later and could be delivered the same day, so tuesday, but i reckon you are looking at a wednesday delivery.

Floop, thanks for that info - I know about that site, and the l;ast line for me there is:

26 nov 04 90 75 truck arrived at final destination Apple Shanghai

I was just wondering if it may arrive on monday because during the weekend I cant imagine the package is sitting stationary. I thought the package may be in TNTs Hub in London already but its jsut the site that hasnt updated.

When I last spoke to an apple person, he told me that I wont be able to use the TNT link till monday, because they dont update it on weekends..

So, I was thinking that my iMac might catch up with Fred's for a Monday delivery - was worth a shot!

P.S. Floop - thanks for the detailed info, I'm sure it will help numerous people viewing this thread :)

No worries :)

To put your situation into some context, I recently ordered from Apple, and the last information from the Apecode site showed:

Wednesday 10 nov 04 30 10 departed direct Apple, Taiwan

After that there was a delay of a few days, before things started appearing on the TNT site:

Tuesday 16 nov 04 Arnhem Hub Consignment passed through transit point
Wednesday 17 nov 04 Eindhoven Consignment passed through transit point
Wednesday 17 nov 04 Northampton Hub Consignment passed through transit point
Thursday 18 nov 04 Exeter Import received (at 5am), Out for Deliver (8.30am), Delivered (1.00pm)

Hope this gives you some more information to match up your tracking information with. I hope your stuff arrives soon, I know how infuriating it is waiting for stuff to slowly wend it's way across the world!

I'm very interested in the ProCard. Having the priority service and repair with a Mac Genius is worth the $99. My local Apple Store is only about 15 minutes away. I would imagine that since the ProCard was offered in the UK, it wouldn't be valid here in the US.

Does that mean it has been delivered but no one was in and returned to the depot?
I swear my mum was in until 9, although no one was in between 7 30 and 7 45. Ah well, will have to go and collect it from the depot when i get back from college. Can't wait! :D

Still no G5 iMacs in UK????

Well, have been waiting for 3 months now for a G5 20" with 512M and Bluetooth kit, and airport card. Ordered through Jigsaw in UK. Still no sighting of them and the guy at Jigsaw has been at least honest about the iMac's No-Show.

None in stock at the Regent street store, as of last wednesday. "Sold out", was the answer to the obvious question. No idea when stocks are coming in, he also said.

What on earth is going on with Apple? Is the rest of the world. i.e. anywhere outside of the US, just not worth bothering about?

JUst send us the bloody computers, please!!!! Jigsaw have had about 110 orders unfulfilled since the day the G5 iMacs were announced as shipping.
You might have thought that 110 iMacs would be worth selling at these prices, but I assume not.

well,f or some reason my order still hasnt appeared on the tnt site yet..

apple are still quoting my delivery for tomorrow - so we'll see. it could just be tnt taking ages to update the tracking page..

If they dont update the tracking page today, I'm gonna be seriously peeved..

Also noticed that John Lewis have no stocks of 20" iMac G5s, either.

Are these machines EVER going to materialise???

I've seen one for sale locally at an authorised Apple reseller. Only trouble is their pricing is 20% above Applestore's!

lol, I actually did a SJ style 'wooo' when I checked the page and it was there..hehe

Yeah Baby, Yeah!

I would suggest that you call first. Sounds like you are finally golden on your iMac. Will be waiting for an update.

It arrived today - but they took it back to the depot because I wasn't in! Luckily when they called me I wasn't teaching - they said they'd devilver it to school tomorrow.

I don't think I'll be going to the staff meeting tomorrow night...

I am really pissed off now, just called up the guys at the depot and they have received but they haven't had a chance to open up the batch of parcels that have just come in?!!..at 7 this morning! Talk about inefficiency!
He tried to say that it might still be in Holland and i just went mad....it is clear they can't be bothered to deliver the item today so i think it will come tomorrow - when no one is in. I tried to ask him nicely to look through the batch quickly and if he could find it i would go over to come and collect it from the depot tonight, which is only 4 miles away ffs. They state 2 day delivery, it has been in Northampton since friday. I have had an awful day at college and the thought of having my imac got me through. :(

Hey ya,
College stuff - a lot of stress atm as i am doing 4 a-levels pretty much all in jan.
Isn't this a 2 day guaranteed delivery service?
I am considering writing to the head office about this, i heard a guy in the background saying "yeh i can see the parcel but it is right at the bottom" and i am not asking much, just for them to unload it and place is somewhere where i can come and collect it.

Dont worry man - I know it's frustrating, because the ****ing lazy bums are being stupid, but dont let it get to your head - Try and chill out (it's hard, I know!!)

Can you ask them to delier it to a neighbour or something? That way you can go through the college day knowing its going to be delivered..

Then, on tuesday evening, you can write a nice long letter about those SOBs and send it to TNT HQ. And forward a copy to Apple - they should really use FedEx or UPS..

/asif

p.s. sorry about the swearing in my post, i'm getting more worked up about Fred's imac than my own!

Hey all, i'm a mate of fred's and thought I should update you guys, he managed to go there to collect it and apparently the guy was quite cool and managed to dig it out so he's happy now! I'm guessing he'll be driving back and setting it all up for a while then he'll update you guys. Funny how one thing changes and the whole world seems like a better place!

PS Sorry for butting in!

Frank

Managed to pick it up guys! It is huge and gorgeous but not turned it on yet, iu have installed the airport extreme card all ok but am having trouble with the crucial memory (512mb) and that it doesn't seem to fit all the way, it kinda clicks in but the clips either side can't close and aren't in line, they are below the groove bit, is this normal or should i push it really hard to force the clips either side to close?
can't wait to start it up!

Are you sure you've got it lined up properly? RAM should normally click in fairly easily..I wouldnt try forcing it in If I were you, might damage it.
