Hey everyone, great thread you've all got going here.
My first computer was an Apple IIe, later followed by a Mac LC III. Then around 1996 or so, after my parents wouldn't cough up the dough for the Power Mac 7500 I had my eyes on, I was forced into the dark world of Windows, and have been stuck there ever since. Win 95 was a joke, Win 98 got somewhat better, and then I thought XP was pretty cool, until it's recently been plagued with viruses, security holes, and spyware, to the point where it's now practically unusable. As soon as I saw this new iMac, I knew it was time to go back.
I googled "iMac shipping" last week, landed here, and have been watching with earnest ever since. It feels great to be caught up in kind of excitement, which doesn't happen in my life nearly enough, I'm sorry to say.
Well, here is my iMac story:
9/15 - Ordered, stock 20"
9/20 - Shipped
9/23 - Just arrived this morning at my mom's place
Wow, how's that for lead time? I'm now anxiously waiting to get off work so I can head over there and check it out.
I found it interesting that so many people were scrambling to get this "magical" Crucial memory everyone's been raving about, for some reason. Well, once I saw that my iMac was arriving today, all I had to do was head over to my friendly local computer store on my lunch break (believe it or not, a few of these still exist, since there are still a few people like me that keep them alive but not buying everything online), and picked up these sweet babies:

Kingston 512 MB DDR400 sticks. Only $89 each. Woooo! No shipping hassles, no waiting for them to come in, just went over and got them. The price reflects a discount they gave me for paying in cash. Try finding an online store that'll do that for you!
Good iMacing to you all!
