iMac G5 Now Shipping

FedEx Delivery

My 20" with BT shipped today and my FedEx tracker says delivery on October 01. I only had standard shipping and it's coming to Canada.
Now to prepare the installation site and plan the opening ceremony!

Anyone order around and about Septemeber 14. I've got an eta of October 13, wondering if there has been any lucky ones around this time.(Canada)
 
I ordered on 09/15 and est. shipping date is 10/13.

I was ready to order right after the Keynote (Aug 31) as that was about 5:30 am my time and I was up anyway.
I didn't select the BT option by mistake and so cancelled that and re-ordered around 10:00am AST (one hour ahead of EST).

My 20" is on it's way. Can't wait till she gets here. I can now return to an almost normal life.

Congrats to all of us early adopters who held out for a truely wireless computer. For those who are still waiting i feel your pain, and good luck.

Now all I need to do is get my desk to arrive, I'll probably just go pick it up this weekend.

Now, I'm happy I spent the $30 for expedited shipping, because based on others' experience, I'm pretty sure I'll get it early next week.

Trekkie, others...I'm positive yours are next...hope so.

Mine couldn't be coming soon enough...this PC is infected big time. Can't get rid of whatever has taken it over.

The pleasure I will get from wiping out Windows (well, most of it) will be immense. If I were a violent person, I would consider blowing the thing up and mailing the pieces to Bill Gates.

I'm almost free. I can't believe it.

I ordered on 9/15 (after finally getting to see it in person at the local Apple store). Estimated shipping date is OOB 10/20 with ground transit chosen. I know I have a wait ahead of me - but I can't help checking status about 3 times a day... this is going to be my first Mac ever! I feel like an expectant father :)

Mine's exactly the same, same time leaving Subic Bay too. I'm hoping that means it's on a plane right now.

How long usually from when they take the available credit and when they actually ship it?
 
HHHOOOLLLYYY CRAP!

Well, the FedEx guy did show up today and this was his quote, "So is this your harddrive?" Me, "Nope it's the whole computer." FedEx, "You mean this is the screen, that's a nice screen." Me, "Nope, I mean that is the WHOLE computer, everything I need." FedEx, "Wow, that is pretty cool, is it very fast?" Me, "Just go buy one, you'll love it!!!"

So, no review yet because I'm transfering stuff from my old computer now. But....I do need to tell you that HOLY CRAP that screen/computer is HUGE and I love it!!!!! I have BT keyboard and mouse and it is amazing how liberating it feels with one wire (the power cord) although eventually I'll add a speaker cord and a printer cable...but that's about it!!! I am taking pictures of the set up, but I don't have anyway to post them. So, if anyone wants to see the iMac G5 20" in all it's wireless glory have someone help me put them up for people to see. It is AWESOME and worth the wait. Wow, it is so huge!!!

Just like a few other people, my credit card's available credit has been reduced by the iMac. A few days ago the temp auth on my card for the iMac disappeared. Today I woke up to find that it was back on the card. Still a temp, not the real thing. Does anyone know what's going on? I still have no invoice. Today, it seems that alot of people have gotten their shipping notifications. It also seems that a couple other people are in my boat. I'm dying for some answers

According to the email, "The following products shipped on 09/24/2004. Transit time will depend upon whether you have chosen standard or premium freight options. If your order is shipping standard freight, it should arrive within 10 days of shipment."

I went for the free ground shipping, but hopefully it'll be here soon anyway.

So now I pester the FedEx servers instead of Apple's! Yay!!

Apple's site just changed my status to shipped. However, I can't get an ETA since the tracking number they gave me is invalid, it only has 12 digits. I assume that will update once FedEx actually picks it up.

To crodog856 and vmaloney: I noticed my available credit drop on Monday, I don't know if that is a typical turnaround or not, or even if it had dropped earlier and i just didn't notice. Sorry I can't help out more.

I can't wait to finally ditch my Windows box, that detonate and mail the pieces idea actually sounded kind of fun....

Mine shipped today also and is not estimated to arrive until 10/13/04:( I'm going to call Apple.....I'll post back with what they say.
