mine is coming to rancho murieta, and i think we're in the same pallet...my tracking shows it "left fedex ramp", whatever that means...

Unfortunately mine hasn't even hit the ramp.

Attention, though, for those of you having trouble with FedEX CSRs. The people you're most likely talking to are the low-level domestic people. The way to really get to someone in the know is to ask for International Shipping and then specify the IPD department. It seems that department is rather small because the very knowledgeable man I spoke with was immediately aware that this was an Apple shipment and that there were many people in my same situation.

The IPD people will be able to tell you how Apple offloaded pretty much all of their ramp on the 24th to prepare for the weeklong holiday in Shanghai. From my understanding, everything is sitting in a hangar, waiting for FIFO (first in first out.) Unfortunately, since these were mostly dumped all at once, it might end up being the luck of the lottery for those of us eager to get out of there.

He assured me though that their department has modified all of these shipments to PRIORITY EXPRESS as soon as these things clear customs. The moment you see a check in for the lower 48 you can expect your iMac the next business day.

Obsession

*hifive* Misery loves company. :D It's nice to know I'm not alone in my frustration.

Okay this is getting bad, my frustration has turned to obsession. I found this website:

http://www.flytecomm.com/cgi-bin/trackflight

and if you select arrival city as Anchorage, AK you can scroll down and see that FedEx Flight 92 from Shanghai (there are no flights from the Philippines oddly enough) and a flight 72 from Tokyo. You can track the status of each there.

I need help.

That site is awesome! It says that there is a flight from Shanghi currently heading towards AK. Hopefully someone's computer is on there!

It would be sweet if you could look at past flights. Like checking the flights from last Thurs. or Friday to see what's up.

my latest fedex info has a package status of NARITA-SHI JP so i wonder if flight 72 from tokyo could be it?

Unfortunately, doesn't look like it. Our pallet was in Narita 21:19 local, and the FedEx flight left @ 12:25.

Compounding the problem potentially is a cyclone that has delayed flights into and out of Japan.

alaska here it comes!

Within the last few minutes, FedEx has updated my status. It seems that my iMac is bound for Alaska:

Sep 27, 2004 12:35 PM In transit ANCHORAGE, AK

Anyone else?

there were two flights from tokyo (72 and 80) arriving at 10:57 PM and 11:52 AM respectively.

besides the cyclone issue...the departure times are listed local time to the airport (same with arrival) so if my last status was 9:19 PM on sept. 27th then there is a decent chance it could have been on flight 80 that left at 10:46 PM the same day.

(wishful thinking)

I was about to give up for the day, but indeed it COULD have made it on Flight 80, which departed at 10:46pm and arrived at 11:52AM - less than one hour ago.

Now I guess I am back on the 5 minute FedEx refresh cycle...

Isn't this interesting... Your package went through Narita (that's the only way to get to AK from PH), but it doesn't show a scan in Narita like several others of ours do.

Maybe that means that the same plane from PH --> JP continued on to AK. Man, if they took mine off of the plane in Japan, and let others continue to AK, that would be lemon in the wound...

Then again, if I use the direct link from Apple's status page, I receive different results:

Sep 27, 2004 12:35 pm * Arrived at Sort Facility * ANCHORAGE AK

So maybe it's in Alaska already. Who knows?

i have to agree...butif these things are traveling in bulk (pallets) then i wouldn't think they'd be split apart...

still no updates for me...but i do get 2 differents result sets (tracking from apple order status page vs. entering tracking # in on fedex) but they both end up in the same place...just different number of entries in each...

Mine is shipping with solidGas'. And my FedEx update has no mention of Japan at all. It seems to have moved directly from Subic Bay to Anchorage.

i keep thinking...end of day...no updates since this morning...paid for 2 day expedited shipping...flight times match up...that a fedex status update is due any time now...hopefully with good news

ARGH! Earlier today when I talked to FedEx the rep told me it reached customes. I just called now because someone suggested asking to speak to someone in the IPD department so I talked to someone in that department (just now). He told me that my package is still in the PH and he doesn't know when it will leave because they are having bad weather. I explained to him that someone earlier today told me it had reached customs and he said that was wrong. Now I don't know what is going on or what to think. I asked if the estimated delivery date of Oct. 11 was accurate and he said "it could be before". So glad they all have a clue.

This is driving me to drink, anyone wanna join me. *sigh*

Where in Japan is this place?

Anyone have this status or know where this is?

UK iMac - 5+ weeks

Ordered 17 1.8, BT keyboard & mouse, 512, Airport card from the UK Education Store on September 21 and I'm being quoted "on or before October 28" for shipping.

This seems to be a bit longer than some of you guys have been quoted. Is it because its to the UK, or education discount, or ... am I just being irrationally impatient.

Lifelong PC guy looking to convert and I just can't wait.

It looks like at least one pallet (mine  ) made it to Anchorage - it would not be showing on the FedEx page if it hadn't! Now if someone knows the flights out of Anchorage for FedEx . . .

I have a feeling that a few pallets made it on board that flight - we've been bugging the hell out of FedEx so we probably got pushed on the plane to shut us up.

As I see it, there is time for our shipments to get to Memphis tonight and to us tomorrow as long as the last flight out of Anchorage didn't leave before ours arrived.

Shipping status....Please someone give me a clue!

Hey, I hope everyone is not getting too stressed out at the lack of iMacs at the moment and the awful wait that we're all living through!! Anyway, my question, to anyone who is able to answer it, is, on the Apple shipping status page (for UK customers) it has said since Saturday that my iMac has shipped. The courier is TNT, yet I have been told by them that they do not receive the iMac until it gets to their local distribution plant in the Netherlands, and so I cannot track my order at the moment. Can anyone think of a reason, apart from incompetency, why on the Apple page there is no information about the activity, location or date and time of my iMac? Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Looks like there's a 3pm to Indianapolis, IN (where my pallet says it's going - why I don't know, I'm in Los Angeles). And a 3:59pm to Memphis, TN.
