i too talked with a fedex guy, who apparently was some sort of supervisor and was very knowledgable about the plight of apple users, and he said that the computers that have been stuck in PH for a while are being shipped off on every fedex flight out, they promised apple some room on each plane. so they're coming out of PH, but at a crawl. he said i should get mine before the 10/11 estimation.

Local Apple store got 6 20" machines and nothing else.

I'm waiting for the 20" ( and I'm one of the first six.. )

They couldn't sell them since Apple gave them a shipping invoice for 17" machines, not 20" !!

AAAAAaaaaaaaargh !

It REALLY hurts to see the boxes waiting there, but not being able to get one :(

Getting worried....

All right... the last entry on my fedex page is:
Sep 26, 2004
2:29 am

Left FedEx Sort Facility*

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT PH*

Now, in the Phillippines, 2:29am on Sept. 26 was like the middle of the day here on Saturday. My page hasn't been updated since then. What is going on?!?!??!?
(each click of the refresh button on my browser takes me closer to the edge of insanity....)

Looks like there's a 3pm to Indianapolis, IN (where my pallet says it's going - why I don't know, I'm in Los Angeles). And a 3:59pm to Memphis, TN.

Probably too cold to break it down in Anchorage . . . :D

Memphis is the primary hub for FedEx so I would assume that the breakdown will be there. If it hits Memphis tonight we should be in luck tomorrow. I'll believe it when I can put my hands on the box and give it a little kiss . . .

Hey, I hope everyone is not getting too stressed out at the lack of iMacs at the moment and the awful wait that we're all living through!! Anyway, my question, to anyone who is able to answer it, is, on the Apple shipping status page (for UK customers) it has said since Saturday that my iMac has shipped. The courier is TNT, yet I have been told by them that they do not receive the iMac until it gets to their local distribution plant in the Netherlands, and so I cannot track my order at the moment. Can anyone think of a reason, apart from incompetency, why on the Apple page there is no information about the activity, location or date and time of my iMac? Any ideas would be really appreciated.

There is a web site you can use to track UK shipping before it gets to TNT - I have just done a google search and cant for the life of me find it now. It was something like monkey or ape tracking - it was actually mentioned earlier in this thread and there may have been a link.

You people and your shipping tracking. Bah.

It's much more fun to ponder what apple god you offended when you ordered your system on 8/31 and it has yet to be given to FedEx

I feel for you Trekkie. I ordered after you (around 11:00 PM PST on the 31st). Although I am happy that mine is finally moving and I get to have a new obsession (fedex tracking status) it sucks for you. It just doesn't seem right.

Japan

I found some more info about Sennan-Shi Japan.

It sounds like it is very near Osaka, which there is a big airport there, which is good news, and better yet there is a flight that goes straight from Osaka to Memphis which is real close to me. The next round of updates should tell the story. At least it is out of China and touring now. But it is time for it to come home. :)

If you ordered the BT, send it a message and and ask it to pick up some Sushi while it's over there

Shipping from Shanghai to the Netherlands is handled by Kuehne & Nagel.

The URL is:

http://www.apecode.com/appletrack/

You'll need the first 10-digits of the Tracking number that starts with 80.

You'll see this number if you click on the Tracking Number link from the Apple Store (when it takes you to applestore.bridge-point.com).

Mine apparently shipped last Monday but didn't leave Shanghai until Friday.

No further update yet...

I got my shipping notice on Friday the 24th, mine is on its way to Subic Bay. The weird thing: Apple hasn't charged my credit card for it yet!

Mine hasn't been updated in a long time either, I sure would like to get my Mac (not that anyone else here doesn't :)

Sweet Jeebus there's movement!

Wooot!!! My FedEx tracking page finally updated! My computer arrived and has since left AK! "Sep 27, 2004 3:15 pm Left FedEx Sort Facility ANCHORAGE AK". I also checked the www.flytecomm.com site and it said that the FedEx plane leaving AK heading for IN has indeed left! Wheee!!!

SO lucky! Mine is stuck here (waybill):
Sep 27, 2004 - 1:30 AM - In transit- SUBIC BAY FREEPORT PH

or according to my tracking number:
Sep 26, 2004 - 11:05 pm - Left FedEx Ramp*- SHANGHAI CN*

I don't know what to believe! Wonder if I'll see mine this week...

So who here had their iMac ship after the 24th deadline? Seems like most of the people here had theirs ship on Thursday or Friday (23rd or 24th). My shipping email was sent Saturday the 25th, 2 AM PDT. Is it certain that I'll have to wait till the end of this week at least before it leaves Shanghai? Or does "left FedEx ramp" (see below) mean it's leaving that city?

The page linked to from Apple's Order Status page says:

Sep 27, 2004
9:56 pm
Left FedEx Ramp SHANGHAI CN

Sep 25, 2004
2:12 pm
Left FedEx Origin Location SHANGHAI CN

1:47 pm
Pickup status SHANGHAI CN
Future pickup/delivery requested

Finrock check your regular tracking number! My waybill number still hasn't updated but my other tracking number is what is telling me it left AK! Run check and let me know if yours is on the same plane! :)

Nope Andie, just says left FedEx ramp in Shanghai. I'm gonna stop checking now and try to get some work done. We have tomorrow off from school again because of the hurricane, so I get to play this game all over again tomorrow!

Well I hope yours gets to you tomorrow!

Note: I do have lesson plans all ready to go for the substitute in case the iMac does make it here :)

ScotRobson and Jay14, thank you so so much!!!!

This is the first time ever that I have been genuinely over joyed at finding out that something I have bought has shipped!! Seriously guys, thanks so much. :)

You lucky man.

I don't get it. They took the pallet containing my iMac OFF the plane in Japan, and left yours on to go to Anchorage, and then Indianapolis tonight?

We should both buy lottery tickets today, AND look both ways before for buses before crossing the street. Then we can compare notes on how lady luck continues to differentiate among people whose iMacs rolled off the manufacturing line at almost exactly the same time...

I guess I can't complain. There are still some folks who ordered on 8/31 whose iMacs haven't shipped or are stuck in Shanghai still...

Bummer, I thought ours was together in Alaska, but I don't see any movement from FedEx. Mine is also coming to California. Hope it didn't get held up in customs.
