Kuehne & Nagel says that flight was booked for 10/02. That's all so far... So what's the next step on the status page?

If only those of us in Europe (Switzerland for me) could be servced by Fedex.

My iMac received a status of Flight Booked as well on Okt 2. Since then nothing.

Here's the history for an iPod that I ordered a few weeks ago:

16 sep 04 90 75 truck arrived at final destination Apple, Shanghai
15 sep 04 30 10 departed direct KN Luxemburg
15 sep 04 40 69 accept scanned at EDC KN Luxemburg
13 sep 04 32 55 flight departed Apple, Shanghai
13 sep 04 32 05 Flight Booked Apple, Shanghai
10 sep 04 30 60 departed from product source Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
10 sep 04 05 00 boxes scanned Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
10 sep 04 00 05 Data received from supplier Apple, Shanghai
10 sep 04 30 64 Departed from source Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai

After change of custody to TNT I finally received the package on Sep 21st. From ship to receipt it turned out to be 7 business days...

Hope that gives you an idea. Assuming ours left on the 2nd, TNT should receive custody sometime tomorrow/Wednesday. Which means delivery on Thursday.

Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

What are the odds that our (Trekkies, mine, others) iMacs will make this flight?

In my past experience once it hits anchorage mid day it's at your house the next.

This happened with my Airport Express, iPod, Airport Express #2, and my iPod Mini I got my wife all did this and were on truck for delivery the next morning.

I'm in Raleigh, NC though. I think there is a hub in Greensboro, NC not sure though. That might be UPS I'm thinking of.

pe for the best.

Same for me. I wasn't sure if the 2nd meant the day they booked the flight or the day of the actual flight itself! Looking at your previous order, it went the same day, so maybe ours have left!?

Hey Stillwater! Mine has left anchorage, did yours?

Yeah, it has. Based on the time of departing the sort facility, (3:38PM) it looks like its on the second plane to Indy, FDX80, which is due to take off any minute and touch down shortly after midnight.

Wow, I hate to get my hopes up too high, but it looks like we might see our new toys tomorrow. :)

Looks like we were all on the same pallett, mine left Anchorage at 3:38pm also. What an interesting kinship we now have.

Another Dilemma...

I just ordered my iMac today. Unfortunately, they screwed up my order and they gave me a Western Spanish Keyboard instead of U.S. English. I ordered with a check so I assume that will make the ordering process even longer. I live in Florida and the lady from Apple said that the iMac will ship from Texas. I sure hope so.

End of an era..

I can't believe Trekkie might be getting his iMac. I've been following his story for so long! He'd better post pictures!

BTW, I ordered a 20" non-BT iMac on 9/22, and it's still "open" with on-or-before of 10/21. The days are crawling by....

On it's way!

Yay! Mine left Anchorage in the afternoon too! The Apple rep I talked to might be right. He said "look for it on Tuesday".

The wait is almost over...

So now the question of the day is....

Do I stay up to see if it comes in & moves quickly, or do I go to sleep with dreams of dancing iMac's in my head?

And my Canon D60 is primed & ready to take photographs, don't you worry.

that is awesome for you guys. Mine got stuck in Anchorage over night, then stuck in Indy.

Mine was shipped on the 24th and delivered on the 30th, man was that a long six days.

At any rate as long as you guys make it through customs in Indy you should have it first thing in the morning!

Wow, Trekkie I feel like we are old friends now after watching you go through this. :D

FI-nally!

Yay!!! I finally received the shipping notice from apple!!!

My original On or Before Date was October 6, and I've received the email on October 4th (so I guess I should somewhat be happy...even if I ordered the BASIC iMac 17" 1.8ghz on sept 8th!)

now... I live in quebec,canada... so I wonder how much time this will take... at least i'm happy to see than even if I took the standard shipping it will probably be as fast as the expidited!

here's the fedex tracking right now... (anyone could give me a approximative number of days with that info??)

2:09 PM
Left origin *SHANGHAI CN*

2:07 PM

All I hope is that the fedex date if not good (Estimated delivery Oct 21, 2004 12:00 PM!!!!)

If I could get it by friday I would gladly go to church this sunday to thank the Apple God for his gift!:p
...and if not.... i'll go to church to pray it will be home monday!!! :p

Thanks for the info. My iMac G5 1.6 is on this flight as well!

Short intro: I'm Kevin. I've been a Mac user for a year and a half or so, and I'll never go back! I'm typing this on a G3 iBook 800 with maxed out ram, but I hope to be posting from a new system tomarrow! *wink*

The iBook will be passed on to my girlfriend.

I use my Mac for audio production, copy editing, and general university stuff. For audio I use Ableton Live 4.0 (the holy grail of electronica, IMHO), Reason, and enough softsynths to make Charlie Clouser gassy.

Anywho, Nice to meet you all,

-Kevin

Noooooo.....!! Don't say that!

My status now says "international shipment release- location Indianapolis IN".

Sounds like it cleared customs. I hope that's what that means.

Got Mine Yesterday

Well my 20" BTO finally arrived yesterday morning. First impressions were WOW!

20" inch screen seems massive after my 17" G4 iMac. No dead pixels, so very pleased. Computer seems much quicker than my old iMac as well :)

On the downside, the set-up assistant kept quitting when trying to transfer the data from my other computer, so ended up dragging it across manually.

The only main downside is the superdrive. It is very choosy on what DVD-R you put in it. I normally use 4x Ritek branded DVD-R but it will only write to these at a maximum 2x. This is a BIG step backward over my G4 iMac which had no problem with ANY 4x media. So far out of all the 4X DVD-R I have tried, only a Fuji 4x actually burned at 4x in toast.

Anyone else noticed this problem?

Good to see a 1.6 shipping. Let us know what you think when it gets there. Can you post your configuration and order date. I'm still trying to figure out where the heck mine could be. As my 2nd OOB rapidly approaches.

I got a 17" 1.6 160GB 1GB BT WLKB+MSE

Great news, Trekkie. It does turn out our 8/31 Macs were on the same flight, but mine has been held captive once again. Regulatory Agency Clearance Delay in Indianapolis. I seriously don't know what this means, but at least it's near its planned New York home. Maybe tomorrow....

How did you determine the burn speed? Are you using Toast? What other media did you try besides Ritek and Fuji?

Mine left on same plane from Anchorage to Indy along with some of yours, but mine is also stuck in Indy with "regulatory agency clearance delay". Why release some and not others? Hope you get yours today Trekkie, looks like tomorrow for me.
