im so happy :D, just checked Apple Tracking web page and my iMac has flight book for the 28 Oct. does anyone know when i could expect it. i was thinking maybe Tues or Wednesday next week

I don't know about yours, but as I said in a previous post my iMac was booked for a flight on October 21st and as of yet that is still the status.

I phoned up Apple but they didn't really know anything more. The guy just told me that he thinks the iMac is in Holland by now, just nobody has continued processing it yet. Further he thinks the iMac should be delivered by the end of the week. I have a hard time believing that, but time will tell!

One question: does the iSight come with a nice way of mounting on the new iMac? There is no way I'm using the self-adhesive disk on this beauty.

I purchased my 2nd iSight from the Apple Online Store last week and to my surprise, it included the iMac G5 magnet mount. The iSight Accessory Kit also includes the magnet mount. Be careful of old local store stock...

My BTO is scheduled for Nov 12th...checking 5 or 6 times a day :D

FedEx Flights

Anyone know what FedEx's flight Schedule is each week from Shanghai to Anchorage? Do they have a flight every night?

OK so this really is a joke?

So now I am told that the next shipping date to the UK 'might be' the 2nd of November. (This is for a current shipping date shown as 22nd.)

Has anyone who also had the 22nd been shipped yet.?

Now I am really p****ed off...

Just try taking some slow deep breaths. It appears that you are getting very close.

mmm close - I don't think so. The guy at Apple didn't sound very confident.
Surely most people who ordered at the beginning of September (8th) have received their order or at least shipping confirmation by now?????

Hannah,

i'm sorry to yes, my 3rd OOB date was the 22nd Oct and it shipped on the 23rd. i placed my order for my BTO 20" with BT & Wireless KB & Mouse on the 13th Sept. so it is about time. mind you i have been phoning them nearly every day and complaining in the end they must have got sick of me phoning because they said it would ship at the next available shipment to the UK. if i where you keep phoning them every day and complain, whine, beg what ever you need to do to get them to give you a firm date.

hang in there, it will be worth the wait.

From Co Springs, ordered on 5 Oct, still have a ship date of on/before 5 November...similar setup too, I ordered a BTO 20" w/ Bluetooth (no airport card)...

Good Luck :)

Questions for all of the Americans. Have any of your IMAC's gone through the Phillipines? If so, did the mac then go through Memphis or another location first? I keep hearing China to Anchorage, but mine is currently sitting in the Phillipines.

this is starting to really, really piss me off.

ordered on 9/20... as far as I know the reseller knows less about the computer shipping than I do, but i'm not bugging them anymore - they can't do anything about it and they promised me that they'd call me before it even hit the ground at their store so i don't want to be pissing them off. I don't have an OOB date or anything, can't contact anyone. Everything that could delay it is attached, 20" special order w/ airport, educational discount to a reseller with low priority to canada. OF COURSE i'll love it when it gets here but i'm still extremely pissed off, as I now have 4 hours of footage to edit and burn onto a dvd, including the wedding I went to which I videotaped for the bride and groom.

PISSEDOFF. I might just call apple canada and see if they can tell me anything.

Educational Discount-- Low Priority?

Are we sure the educational discount gets low priority? I'll admit mine is a 17" BTO with a current ship date of 5-7 days from purchase, but I ordered mine on the 16th. Ed discount and it is getting here as fast as the full price models.

Re: Educational Discount-- Low Priority?

I have never been one to believe that Apple gives any different priority to education customers over normal paying customers. That would be a bad business practice.

They may be slow when it comes to shipping, but I doubt that they are dumb too.

Someone earlier in the thread said that the educationally discounted computers don't ship as fast as the normal ones.

grrrrr.

Dunno about Melchior, but this Aussie is. :( Still no word from the reseller... I'll call him on Friday if there's no news.

Well I just called Apple and they tell me mine SHOULD go out in the next day or so. My ship date was meant to be today. Apple did say they had received a large shipment in and that they are shipping out as quick as they can, obviously to those who ordered first...

She also said that the Apple order status page tends to show any changes after 3pm each day.

And wouldn't that be biting themselves in the foot? I bet a very large percentage of Apple's sales goto those with the educational discount. It would be like Apple slowing shipment to their discounted business partners (usually large graphics firms)... Just doesn't dd up, and I think there would be some legal ramifications.

25 okt 04 - 90 75 - truck arrived at final destination Apple Shanghai

Oooh, it's getting nearer, at least it's in Europe now........

Yes, many of ours (ours = US orders with US destinations) went through the Philippines. An example of this would be mine, Shanghai - Japan - Anchorage - Indianapolis - Memphis - New Orleans - My House/ That whole evolution for me took 6 days, mainly because I seemed to get held up at every stop until Memphis. Most once they hit Anchorage had it the next day.

Good luck! And you will love it, I know I do.

Not if you live in New Zealand....

Ha! Doubt it...

Perhaps North Americans and Europeans might be interested to know that waiting a month or more for an Apple order for a new product isn't that unusual elsewhere.

I'm in New Zealand and ordered in early September and don't even have an ETA. This doesn't bother me because its par for the course down here.

So really, most of you are not really having to wait very long :)

Cheers

I got impatient and called the reseller. :D He indicated that Apple had received about 100 iMacs, which went straight out the door ... and he hadn't seen a "single bloody one" of them. I get the feeling that his frustration is worse than mine. :)

More should be coming in soon.

I got this today too....

It landed in Luxenbourg on Friday afternoon and its still not here. I only live a few hundred km's away... I could have cycled there and back by now !

Does this mean its been handed off to TNT ?

If so I still cant seem to track it via any of the numbers I have been sent.

Ohhh its so close I can smell it... I just wish they would pull out their finger and deliver the thing !
