It does seem to me to be very random, I think talk of shortages on certain components etc isn't what's going on here as you have the fusion drive and 780m so it throws that argument out, as I said I think its just a lottery really.

Bloody annoying though, I want my imac!!

My Dad ordered his iMac on 10th September. Dispatched 10am today. Delivery due on 16th through Standard Shipping.
Upper 21.5" with 750m and Fusion drive.
b00m :)

Ordered on Oct 7th and received yesterday, Oct 11th  Love this machine - it's a beast!

Good news. So the delivery date of 16th is highly likely. Much better than the 23rd-28th on the original order confirmation. Shocked to say the least that it was dispatched two days after I ordered.

Yea, mine was shipped 2 days after I ordered on the 9th, then took 2 days to arrive - 4 days total - not bad.

Now that I'm finally all set up I can say that I really love this machine! It's quite something. The screen is gorgeous, it looks like retina compared to the 30" ACD. It's quiet, it's speedy, it's slick, I can finally play Doom 3 on maxed out settings! Haha.

I also get 13,312 in geekbench 3 32-bit, over 300 more than the standard 3.5Ghz model on everymac.com. My configuration is 16GB, 780M, 3TB fusion and 3.5Ghz.

I have the 30" ACD with Mac Pro and I am changing to 27" iMac. Is the screen really that much better?

Having done the same switch a few years ago, yes the iMac screen is better. There is one detractor you might notice. The 30" ACD is 16:10 (2560 x 1600) and the 27" is 16:9 (2560 x 1440) so you lose 160 pixels of vertical resolution with that switch.

Yes, it is. It just looks gorgeous in comparison. Rich colors, high pixel density, etc. I wish it was 30", but if they had a 30" iMac with a screen like the ACD I would choose the 27".

Just called UPS and it's defo on delivery for today :) Can't wait......hope you get some progress today dude!

I'm hoping so too, it's still sat at processing:( hopefully it will change later today as most folks seem to show status changes later in the day, the lady at Apple seemed pretty confident it would be dispatched today.

Hope you get yours today, bet your excited!

Rang Apple again, still same and have to just wait, again they looked over it all and did wonder why its not shipped as yet, although its only the 6th business day today so really its still within the 5-7 days, she did say she would chase it this afternoon and put priority shipping on so i'm hoping I get some movement on it today.

Mines been Preparing for Shipment for at least 15 mins! How long does it to put it in a box ?

:apple: Just kidding..:p

Delivery estimated between 17th-24th... And still processing...:(

Ordered my 27" BTO at the 28th of September at my local Apple Premium Reseller and I picked it up yesterday the 14th of October. So just a little over 2 weeks. (in Belgium)

Computer was assembled in Ireland.
