I think the assemble of iMacs only for East EU is in Ireland
mine 21.5" BTO late 2012 is from Ireland, i hope my just ordered 27" BTO 2013 is from Ireland too...i think the QA is far better there than China

I noticed this too. Perhaps we will start seeing the US customers get shipment notifications toward the afternoon now that it's about 1:15pm EST currently.
Oops missed the shipping info - saw the tracking number then someone started speaking to me
Looking again it is coming from Ireland and will be here in 2 days.

My BTO is now showing as shipped. The original ETA was 10/9, but that has been upgraded to 10/4...just in time for the weekend!
Just switched to "Preparing for Shipment". ETA is still 10/3 to 10/7. If it ships tonight, with the 2-3 shipping, I should see it Friday! Oh this will be a great weekend as I know I have no plans and the wife is busy with a few things!

Mine changed to "Preparing for Shipment" sometime in the last hour as well. My delivery target is Oct 3-5. Oh happy days!
It's looking like I've done well to order today, and get "Delivery: 04 Oct, 2013 - 08 Oct, 2013". As has been said, hopefully will arrive in time for the weekend, the other half is busy with a few things 🙂
Hi guys, i received my stock 27" today (Germany), and disappointingly there is severe light bleed on the bottom left corner of the screen. Needless to say i've packed it up and am returning it.🙁
Gonna go for the 21.5" just to avoid these screen issues which unfortunately doesn't seem to be resolved yet.
Hopefully you guys who ordered the 27" won't have these issues!

I had the same worries about the 21.5" I ordered last November. It came without any problems. I had a mid 2010 27" that didn't have any issues, I believe that the same LG panel is still being used (but the process of gluing the glass panel directly to the screen is new). Regardless, fingers crossed for everyone

Something you can't really overlook when you turn on the screen - especially if it's your job to look for these things?

Oh man...that sucks. I don't think I could tolerate going down to a 21.5" screen from the 24" I currently have. Has Apple given you an estimate for how soon before you'll get your refund, and how soon before you'll get your new machine?
I did an automated return via the online apple store. The courier (probably UPS) will contact me within 48 hrs to arrange pick up. After pickup, the iMac will get shipped to Netherlands after which it will take them 3 - 5 workdays before I will get the refund. By the way, the iMac was shipped out of Prague to me in Germany.
I have yet to place a new order. I just realised the 21.5" does not allow me to upgrade the ram by myself and the prices charged by Apple are just ridiculous. The difference between my preferred 21.5" BTO option & the 27" BTO option is around 200euro, and i'm getting a bigger screen, more RAM (self upgraded to 24GB of course), faster processor & better graphics card.
The more i think about it, the more i'm probably gonna go for the 27" again and hope for a good screen. In any case, i'm gonna hold out till Mavericks is out before getting it and also to see the other experiences of 27" buyers here in the forum.
All the best to the other guys here who went for the 27", I really hope the one i received was a one off!

My iMac is situated in quite a dark room, and I noticed it immediately when viewing a video on Youtube. Brightness was not adjusted out of the box so it was around the medium level. Increasing the brightness level naturally made it really stand out and I could see the unevenness very easily.
It's also one of those " i know its there and i can't help not seeing it' kinda thing. damn.

Yes, mine also shipped from Fremont, CA today and is now due on Wednesday the 2nd (original date was 3-5 October).
I just got home and checked, and sure enough it's also shipped from Freemont, and scheduled for delivery on the 2nd (which happens to be my wedding anniversary).
I'm not going to get too hopeful for US assembly. If I had to guess, this is a batch that just arrived in the US from China.

I've got an estimated delivery of 4th-8th, still showing as processing. Contacted Apple this morning they've said that I will still receive it within my 4th-8th window.
Also confirmed that it is been assembled in China not Ireland 😕
Last time I looked at the map Ireland is right next to the UK. If the rest of the EU gets it from Ireland it doesn't make sense to me why the closest country to Ireland is not on their delivery list.
