Last time I looked at the map Ireland is right next to the UK. If the rest of the EU gets it from Ireland it doesn't make sense to me why the closest country to Ireland is not on their delivery list.

The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is this:

I've gone for the Fusion Drive,

According to the guy at Apple Customer Services some BTO orders are done in Ireland for the UK and the rest is picked up by China, its just the luck of the draw.

I just got home and checked, and sure enough it's also shipped from Freemont

My BTO 27" iMac with i7, 3TB Fusion, and 780M is also shipping from Fremont. Very curious to see if these are being assembled in the US.

We've ordered exactly the same! Ordered mine this lunchtime, mine says:

Delivery: 04 Oct, 2013 - 08 Oct, 2013 by Standard Shipping

:D

Great! Mine arrived today and it works like a charm. Hope yours comes quickly, too (I ordered mine Wednesday and had express shipping)

Mine was shipped a few hours ago.

I've ordered it on 25/9, had some issues with my creditcard limit. I went to the bank office on thursday to raise the creditcard limit. On Friday the warning about the limit was gone and the estimated delivery date was 7-9 October.
A few hours ago I got an email telling me the iMac was on its way and will be in my possession this Friday the 4th of october!

my configuration:
3.5-GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
8 GB 1600-MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2 x 4 GB
Fusion Drive 3 TB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4 GB GDDR5
Magic Trackpad
apple care

I live in Belgium for those who want to know and I will use it for photo and video editing. 3D modeling, texturing and rendering, …

I ordered mine yesterday, i7, 780m 4gb, 3tb fusion and delivery is 8-10th October (in uk). I was looking to order Thursday and delivery was 7-9th so the BTO seem to have the same production time.

Just wish the 8th would hurry up!

Well I just got shipping notification, due to me on the 3rd :D

On FedEx Vehicle for Delivery

My 27" BTO iMac is out for delivery today in the SF Bay Area. Configuration:

NVIDIAGeForceGTX780M 4GB GDDR5
3.5GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
I ordered on September 24, standard shipping.

All you guys with your Macs already shipping! Mine is still "Processing" and due for delivery Oct. 8 - 11. The wait continues...

People receiving 27" models, please let us know how the screen is!

Thanks!

Mine just tracked at my local sorting hub so providing it gets to my local depot between now and 3am it should be with me tomorrow. Will check the screen and see what is what.

Cool. I should have mine tomorrow, up and running around 7pm if the people in the office at my building are there to let me get it out of the package room!

BTW, the original delivery estimate was Oct. 3-7. I received the shipment notification 6:58 p.m. yesterday, which was about the time the package left its Fremont origin (25 miles of freeway south of me) for the FedEx facility in Sacramento (60 miles of freeway northeast of me). If the iMac was assembled in China, it must have traveled during the "preparing for shipment stage" because "shipped" corresponds only to transit from Fremont.

I'm not going to get too hopeful for US assembly. If I had to guess, this is a batch that just arrived in the US from China.

Federal Express air shipments to California from China arrive at Oakland so that is where the origin would be on the FedEx tracking if the iMac was assembled in China.

iMac shipments originating at Fremont must therefore be from the iMac assembly plant located there.

My 2012 was a BTO (just the upper 21.5 with a Fusion Drive). The 2-3 day shipping from Fedex provided details from it's departure in China, time spent in customs in Memphis, and then finally making it to New Jersey.

Maybe the process is different now with what is coming in from China for a company like Apple?

Or maybe with an origin of San Jose CA, that mine is assembled in a plant around that area?

Ordered my iMac 27" the 25 sep. It´s to arrive 4 to 8 october. Even thou I ordered express shipping. Can´t wait to get it. I so hope I´m getting it the 4th october.
