I have to wonder why you'd even need the name of the app below the icon at this point. Can't we just use the icon without a caption for the name?

I'm so glad Apple is putting their major focus on the looks of icons. Because if there is one big glaring issue with iOS it is the look of the icons. I mean, they shouldn't waste time on notification center or interapp operability. Let's make the grid of icons look better.

How can you tell that they haven't done that? As neither the notification centre or any apps are in the shot?

It looks like a picture of a picture. The time on the top of the screen is not as blurry and the text of the icons... Which would explain the board not lining up.

I don't know why people are saying it looks the same -- it's obviously completely different... Can't you see that the small border on the settings icon has been removed? I also think the color of the note on the music app icon has changed! :sarcasm:

Another MR non-story. Why not post pictures of what's in the toilet after your staff relieve themselves? It would at least be more interesting.

I can't see any difference. Get rid of the rounded corners. Or at least tone them down a bit. This in itself would give iOS a whole new look.

Of course I pity the developers were this to happen. :(

So, we're looking at a picture of a phone, through a picture of a phone?

PICTURECEPTION.

EDIT: missed it by two minutes!

Also, remember everyone -- this is reportedly an EARLY build, so perhaps before more UI changes were implemented.

Also, if this is real, then it would seem to indicate that iOS7 will be available to at least iPhone 4S devices...

Why wouldn't it be? It's usually available at least two devices back...

My search engine told me that there are 775.000 apps in the appstore, that is reason enough.

Your move

Because every single article about iOS 7 has to do with the icons. I have no clue what Apple is working on. But it is telling that the only 'leaks' have to do with the icons. I'm sure they will make changes else where. But I am hardly going to get excited about Apple updating the look of icons.

Why does the screen not align with the frame of the phone?

I would assume it's someone taking a shot of another iPhone screen that is running the new iOS. It doesn't align because that isn't the phone running the iOS, its the phone taking a picture of the phone running the iOS.

But the thing is..why wouldnt you just show the picture of the phone with the real iOS running it vs a phone of a phone of a phone?

Don't believe at all this is real.

I call B.S. The screen angle doesn't match up with the orientation of the device. Plus, aside from the slight icon tweaks, there's really nothing new here. Surely Apple will do more to the springboard in iOS 7 than just change a few icons.

Also, the vertical orientation of the screen is way off -- not even close. The top row of icons is about an inch below the signal strength/clock/battery indicator. The icons in the "dock" are almost cut off at the bottom. This is clearly a fake -- and a bad one at that.

Some people are just taking advantage of the hype surrounding the keynote a week from today. This image would've been nearly universally laughed off as a fake a month ago. Today, amidst the growing hype and excitement to see any shred of iOS 7, some folks are actually believing this rubbish.

I'm not sure if I'm more excited by the possibility of Jony Ive being part of the keynote than anything apple are rumoured to be presenting...

I remember when the pics of Dashboard widgets leaked and everybody was screaming about how fake and un-Apple-ish everything looked. Nevertheless the responses here have warmed my heart.

I'm all for Apple getting rid of the leather & felt skumorphisms....but I hope they don't flatten the icons too much. I like the 3-D look of them.

Radical changes there....

Good to see mr blurry cam back tho. The leaks have been in focus and well lit lately, its just not right!

It's not fake, it's real.

And yes, the icons HAVE changed. Just not as muched as people hoped, but people should learn to appreciate what they have: icons which people relate too, the 'friendliness' of iOS is something that's not just skeuomorphism, it's a quality! Jony Ive knows like no other how to capture that emotion, and he made sure it didn't go away, as far as I can tell from the looks of this very crappy spyshot.

iOS = vibrant app icons with attention for detail, not some minimalist two-toned theme like Windows Phone.

Learn to appreciate the qualities of iOS in stead of complaining that you're bored. Don't you think Android or WP will bore you in two years? Of course it will! You're right, iOS hasn't changed in years, simply because iOS has been the absolute #1 in terms of UI and design for years. That's something that has been and will remain for the coming years.

Being bored is a symptom of quality. iOS doesn't age, its fundamentals are superb and timeless. Just lik the current MacBook Pro design or the Porsche 911.

My point: stop being bored and enjoy the rich, colourful and 'human' icons in stead of looking at the neighbor's grass which is always greener from your side of the fence.
