Can you come in earlier than your selected time slot?

Anyone know?

I had the in-store pick up last time for my 7+ with pick up window. I showed up a little early. They just checked you in and I waited on separate waiting line. All in-store pick up for everything is waiting in the same pick up line. It depends on who is waiting what at the time of your arrival. You might be in and out quickly and might not. That was my experience. All in all, they tried to get people in and out as quickly as they could.

I do remember the pick-up line had a wait when I did a store pick-up for the 6s. There’s still a line but it went through fast. Thinking of leaving work earlier that day. I think the most would try and pickup their phone in the morning.

I don't think anyone in the US has been charged yet.
I was charged last night around 4PM PDT.

So how does this check-in window works for in-store pickup?
You check in with a specialist at your given time.

I'm on the same boat but no, it has to be the account owner to pick up the phone.
I ordered through Apple.com

@Speedman100

Actually, I chatted with Apple Support about this and they said that if you are an Account Manager (which has the same privileges as Account Holder like upgrading your device) and your name is on that iPhone X you ordered, then you, the Account Manager, can pick it up without the Account Holder being present.

I was charged last night! My pick up window is between 10 - 1030 and my carrier is Sprint. My order on Apple.com still says Order in Process: Your order will be available soon

I really hope it gets here by friday! Does everybody's order still say order in process as well? When will it show that its being shipped to the store?

Still order in progress for me. Don't think it will change for another few days.

Decided to take day off from work, my preorder is 5pm.. gonna get there first thing and line up and see if they are able to hand over A LOT earlier, I'm happy to wait in the line though :)

Be nice to be there for launch day, not really done that, always had the product delivered (iPad 1st gen laugh was only launch I went to on the day :p)

You brave brave soul. My slot is 13:30-14:00 and i'm debating when to turn up. I'm thinking around 12:30, so if i do have to wait it isn't so bad. Maybe i will become more impatient Friday morning and that will all change...

My slot is 17:00 - 17:30 in case I can’t get away from work. I’m a field engineer so hoping I’ll have a job to do near or on way passed the Apple Store!

If i go to 'my orders', it no longer says 'Pickup 13:30-14:00' in the grey bar above the picture of the phone. It's just blank, that's rather odd....

I ordered my X on my wife’s line since it was eligible for upgrade and mine was not. How would I get the new phone activated on my line without deactiving my wife’s line?

Just stick in your old sim, BEFORE you turn it on

Every activation and sim-swap post has me more and more worried about the move to embedded SIM technology that makes "just swapping your SIM" a thing of the past... Sorry, not actually on-topic for this thread, just an observation and a fear of how the carriers will regain Verizon/CDMA-style control over the devices you bring to their networks... and maybe even fees every time you switch.

</soapbox>

honestly, it will be so crazy there i would show up right at 1:30. Then you wont have to wait at all...

I think that the afternoon times will be much better than the 8:00am slot I have... the morning rush will be gone, I'm guessing walk-up sales will be over for the day, and queues should be smaller with only the prepaid and IUP customers waiting.

Also that is how terrorists and drug dealers use phones these days along with disposable phones. Just swap the sims and throw away. I bet the government is putting some pressure on them to switch to that...

No u don’t, you have 10 days or something like that to send it in. You don’t give it to Apple for trade in only ATT

That’s what I do too, just sell it. But they do have to activate it there I think. One thing that pisses me off is they open the box and handle the phone first! Like how dare you put ur dirty greasy hands on my $1k Phone first. They won’t be doing that again this year. Mine! Lol
Never have opened for me. Would say no. Don't need to open to activate.
