They have 3 configurations that they'll be selling in stores.
Base - Mid - Maxed!!

There is a picture somewhere in this thread of someone who took a picture of the configurations that they have displayed on the ipads at the apple store.
So they will definitely have a 16gb model in store.

2 day shipping? Yes. I do have a feeling though that they might not be in the store in the morning. Hopefully they would but an afternoon shipment would make a little more sense. HOWEVER, some stores DID have a few today. SO, maybe they will have them in the morning. Fingers crossed!

I would prefer morning much more than the afternoon. Considering that the store is 30 to 45 minutes away

FWIW, the Apple Store I worked at got its FedEx delivery (of products) in the mid-afternoon. As soon as the product was received, it was available for sale. They didn't hold the product to make it available when the store opened the next day.

If the store was out of product, we'd be out until the next FedEx delivery.

That's not how they did it with the iPad
 
I can confirm that they might sell the max version in store. here at the ginza Tokyo store in Japan and they have it showing three versions on the iPad next to the retinas. although only the base model is on display.

Same here. Called Boylston and Cambridgeside today. Nada. Hoping at least Boylston will get some in tomorrow since it's the flagship store. :apple:
 
I got a MBP Retina in store today. (8GB, 256GB)

Everyone was very confused as to availability. Best I could tell is that they had two and I got the first. I tend to believe them as they all acted like they hadn't seen one yet (wanting to check out the display).

Can't really give it any kind of review though.... it's my first mac.

The display is nice.

I was told they sold out today. Didn't hear how many they had. They did say they would have them on display tomorrow.
 
Perth, Australia store has no Retina Macbook Pros. Not even for display. But they have stock on the ivy bridge Macbook Pro.
 
We have a few Apple stores in my area, 2 within a few miles of eachother, I'm considering going and visiting them tomorrow.
 
I had the unfortunate luck of an uninformed employee telling me over the phone that the Colorado Springs store had them in stock. I rushed down to the store only to be told they haven't received any shipments yet. Color me disappointed.
 
Anyone in atlanta area who tries Lenox mall? Ive been calling them a few times and they say they dont know when they will get them. Anyone else been luckier?
 
So one of the stores I spoke with said that you can upgrade from 8gb to 16gb ram in-store (but not the ssd). Was I misinformed? I thought the ram was not upgradeable except at time of order

Same. Called all five. One told me none recieved today but in stock "tomorrow" (guy sounded annoyed and condescending, though, not really confident, so could have been BS). One said nada and they don't know when they will get them. Uptown also told me they got some but sold through them. The other two were nada and they expect them to come in soon but don't know when.

Frustrating. May also call the local Best Buy's tomorrow but I doubt they would get stock before the Apple Stores...
