I called the closest store to me (Tacoma Mall, Tacoma, WA) and they had no clue when they were going to get any. They said they had the new thick macbook pros but not the new thinner ones.

This is kind of getting me worried... What if they shipped out the "older" new MacBooks and not the Retina MacBooks to the places we all had contact with (and we're told they'd have inventory tomorrow)?

Just called Boylston Street store in Boston, MA. They have everything except the Retinas, and they didn't have an ETA on those :( . Online shipping times have already increased to 2-3 weeks?!?

Damn it! I dithered for too long and now it's saying 3 weeks for delivery!

I wonder if it will be instore in London sometime very soon.

I need one for work!

Doesn't seem like anyone has these in hand yet. Might be a while.

Three weeks shipping time now is crazy.

Damn... This same thing again. Now I'm starting to think that these "shipments" the stores are talking about are just the non-Retina MacBook refreshes.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I SHOULD'VE ORDERED WHEN IT WAS 3-4 DAYS!!! Or maybe not. We shall know tomorrow morning at 10:00AM EST.

Just called my New Hampshire apple store and they have them tomorrow. Guess who's going to be waiting outside their door when they open. :D

I'm sure they set aside a certain amount to be sent to stores immediately.

I hope so... I really do. Of the notebooks I have right now, one has a broken GPU (I can't even watch a YouTube video for more than a minute without the whole system slugging) and the other one is a really old NetBook with a screen smaller than my iPhone (not really, but you get the point).

I ordered my MBP Retina today online, and then called Apple to see if I could change the delivery method to in-store pickup. The person I spoke to said this could not be done because the stores don't know their inventory yet. I am going to try again tomorrow and see if I get a different story. Also, the shipping time when I ordered was 5 -7 days.

Why 10?

I hope you're right.

That's when all of the Apple retail stores are opening around me (all 3).

EDIT: Okay, so just out of curiosity, I called a store near me again (not one closest, but 2nd) and they said they'll have them tomorrow. I asked, "Are you DEFINITELY going to have them tomorrow?" He said, "As soon as we open." And I clearly stated that I was looking for the Retina one. So now my only thing is, do I even bother going to the one closest to me or just hit the one that's definite?
