Where are you getting your information?

I was JUST (last 60 mins.) in a store and they offered to go to the back and sell me one. Problem is I want the HR-AntiGlare and those are on-line configurable only as of now. None of those shipped to the stores today.

Didn't realize there was any Retina ones with antiglare? even online there is no option. Any ideas if the Retina's will be stocked with 16gb ram? 2.6ghz or only option is to order online?

hi all.

i'm out of the country at the moment in japan and was wondering if the release date (today/tomorrow morning US time) would apply to japan/worldwide too?

Called the Apple store at the Mall of America and they have all of the new models... EXCEPT the Retina models *sigh* they have no clue when they'll be getting them either. Looks like I'll have to wait this stupid 2-3 weeks to get mine... WHY weren't they more prepared?

That makes no sense. If they have one they should have all

Exactly. But it really scares me that the [second] biggest mall in America won't have the RMBP in stock. Makes me wonder if the guy at the one I called didn't know the different between the Retina and non-Retina MBPs.

I was just wondering. So a few months from now I can upgrade the SSD myself? Just wanted to make sure. :D

It'll cost you.

I hope that's all

I know. I don't know what the hell Apple's doing with this update but it doesn't make sense. They couldn't have made this limited of a quantity?

But the thing is no one has heard about them in stores

for people in Australia, I just called Robina and they dont have stock in store...
anyone know when the retail stores are getting them?

I didnt buy online cos I wanted it faster

Galleria in Roseville said call tomorrow morning. Made no mention of whether it will be in stock or not.

Posted in the other thread but this one is more relevant.

I held off getting one earlier too online because I was hoping the in-store pickup option appeared today. Now after watching shipping go from 3-5 days to 2-3 weeks I am worried I made the wrong choice.

I called like every apple store in Florida and they all said they had no idea when they would be in stock except one where the guy told me he had the regular macbook pros and would have the retina displays tomorrow.

This leaves me checking every 20 mins the website seeing if a update is made. Anyone have any idea when apple stores normally update inventory online? Do they only do it during store hours?

Just got off the phone with the Apple Store here in San Jose, and they do currently have all the new Macs in except for the retina one. :(

I think he said the formula (not sure if that was word he said) said they would be shipping any day, and he advised me to keep calling back to check.

Apple Store Los Gatos said they expect the retina ones later in the week.

Also, he said give them a call back on Thursday, because "he has a hunch" so read into that as you may, but possibly they know they are coming then, but just can't say.

Guys buying on-line is now 2-3 weeks delay... crazy stuff...

I guess a small bunch of machines (with retina) will get to the stores at some point this week... but after that I think there's going to be a shortage to compensate the queue for the on-line purchases.

My bet was to buy on-line ASAP, since it's very probable that very few units with 16 GB RAM ( on the base model ) hit the selves soon.

PS: At the Palo Alto store they told me that they didn't have a clue about when the RMBP's would be available ( went there at 6:34 PM )
