Does anyone have any information on where to find one in NYC?

I tried Fifth and Soho and both haven't received any aside from the odd one or two since Monday.

After reading the comments, I can't believe I'm seeing so many people living in the northern california area. Especially Sacramento!! That's hilarious!! Fellow Mac Users in Sac Town Woot Woot!!!

I called the Folsom, Citrus heights and Roseville. None available.

Folsom had some but sold out. I work nearby.

I'm surprisingly having difficulty finding the 512's as well. :( Been in front of two 256's though.

Where? I just want the 256GB version

Does Apple or Best Buy stock any RMBP's with more than the base options? I'm impatient and don't want to wait 3-4 weeks for a 16GB one to ship.

I too am curious if anyone can chime in if they have seen any 16GB models in store? I know for a fact that Best Buy won't carry those because they are awful at that kind of thing, but usually Apple has a few different configs available at their retail stores.

I would think they would basically have the 8gb and 16gb version of each the 2.3 and 2.6, and of course the usual "ultimate" version that is a maxed out with every option. This was the case with the MBA when I last was shopping for a new laptop.

Of course though with limited supply, I wonder if Apple has only been shipping only the base models.

Apple stores are only carrying 3 configs, base, 2.6/8/512, and the "ultimate"

The ultimate has 16GB and the 768GB SSD. its also $3800

Best Buy had 2 of each hard drive size this morning ( I picked one up at Los Angeles / Torrance location, PCH and Hawthorne Blvd, they had a few left as of noon )
but all memory was at 8 for each model.

GOOD GOD!!! they are carrying that model IN STOCK!!!!

Theoretically (of course you could say its still theoretical that the apple stores carry ANY RMBP). Its on the display Ipad, there are pictures of the screen in a much earlier page of this thread.

I think some stores aren't going to carry them, but I'm pretty sure it was on the one I looked at (Raleigh, NC).

You guys know what the worst part of this "treasure hunt" is for me, it's going to be the same as everything else I've purchased. The iPhone, the iPhone 3G, the 3GS, the 4, the 4s, the iPad, the iPad 2, the iPad 3, the old style MBP's the unibody, the newer unibodies, the cinema displays, etc. I get super excited to obtain one, I FINALLY do get one and then the excitement only lasts for a few days max and then I'm bored and on to something else I want, or whatever. It's a vicious cycle.

Wow, no best buys in Georgia or Alabama show availability at stores on the website. Is it possible that they have them, but it may not say so on the website? Should I just go to the stores and see?

I can't seem to find any store in the San Jose area that will match the -$200 off and $150 BB GC. Both Santana Row and Milpitas said they will only do the $150 BB GC.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm looking for the 512 ssd with 16gb of ram. Apple store upper west side has had none all week. ONly display model. Let me know if you have any luck.

My local Apple Store told me to check availability on-line the night before, and if they received any I could buy it and pick up the next day as they had been receiving them.

However, when I go to check availability for in-store pickup it now says ineligible. It was working last night but no more. Anyone else able to check store availability online now?

Whoever recommended MacMall thanks!

If anyone has one near them I recommend it. Their website will tell you how many they have in stock and then you can call and they'll hold it for you.

They matched the education discount, no gift card though.

You won't find one. Apple stores will only offer the 16gb/768gb models. 16/512 is a custom condig that you have to order online.

If that ain't the damned truth buddy lol.

I've been tracking this post since Monday, but this is my first post. I've been checking the Walnut Creek Apple (Northern Cal) store since Tuesday and calling Emeryville and Berkeley too, but I keep missing out. I went to Best Buy in Concord and I'm the first on their waiting list, so hopefully I'll get an e-mail before I leave for Disneyland next week...But it seems that none of the Best Buys have any near me right now and Concord only got two yesterday.

My buddy says they had some at Fry's in San Jose - try Fry's around you, maybe? Don't know if they price match or anything, though.

Hey fellow central Floridians, I already acquired mine, but just wanted to let you guys know that the Waterford Lakes Best Buy received and sold two today.
Also, that same Best Buy is selling pre-orders on future shipments according to their Apple rep. Probably worth a shot giving them a call at least.

Good luck to all those still trying to acquire their MacBooks, and know that you will be pleased with its beauty in the end...

Also, does anyone else see value in Best Buy's protection plan? I have gotten 3 new macs by only paying for the new service plan each time. Something always happens to spill on them after a newer model comes out before the warranty is up. The computer has been replaced each time and all I bought was coverage each time.
