In Store Today?

Best Buy in Mansfield, TX

I was at the Best Buy in Mansfield, Texas at lunch time and they have both stock models in stock. The web site shows just the low end available; however, when I went they had both--$2199 and $2799.
 
Apple store Royal Hawaiian (Honolulu) has the $2799 model in stock but not the $2199 :( - I've been trying for three days.

Anyone got any suggestions?
 
hello jws7. the UH: Manoa bookstore just got their stock in yesterday for the base model. I bought the first one today. they are about 2090 which includes tax and student discount. I think they have about 10.
 
To Anyone who got one at an Apple Store:
What time did you call/pick it up? The Employees at my nearby Apple Store are giving me all different responses. They're telling me they can't disclose when the shipments of new stock come in or they're telling me random days of the week.

Hey - thanks for this info makimaki! I tried calling but unfortunately they only sell their laptops to UH students! I'm from a different University. Sucks.

If you are around UH this afternoon - could you help me out? I'd owe you a debt!

I got a suggestion. Forget about the RMBP and enjoy Honolulu! :D

Been there many times, but still want to go back! :(
 
I just picked up what I'm told was the last 512GB model in the Denver Cherry Creek store, but the salesclerk said they get a few in every few days, and this shipment had come in 2-3 days earlier.
 
For those of you that are still looking, the Best Buy link is now working and allows you to buy for pickup. Worked for my girlfriend in Seattle and here in NYC. A lot of stores in our cities had some in stock today. I am sorry I think it it limit one per student. Just stop by a random student hanging around campus center. I'm sure you can find someone to help you out.

No worries - they close at 1630 today so I don't think I can make it in time. Might try tomorrow.
 
I live in Indianapolis. I called the Indy Apple Store today and they said they had nothing in stock. I asked her "when do I need to be there each day to make sure I am first to get it when it is in stock?" She said I could try to time it with their delivery, but not to get my hopes up, as they hadn't had a shipment in over a week!

But using that Best Buy link, looks like they have base models in stock at the Castleton store.

I called around 9:45am and asked. The guy on the phone said they had only the mid-level model in stock. He didn't offer to hold on, but did say that I should be fine getting in. I got up to the store around 11:00 and had to wait for Apple to cancel to my online order (Student Card was already mailed out). Then I was in and out in 10 minutes. Apparently it was a pretty big deal for them as well because he acted like I was the first one to get this model. Up until today, I had been stonewalled about the computers. It was like they all magically knew they existed today.
 
For those in Miami, the Dadeland and Lincoln Road stores had the base models in stock as of 10:30 am today. Picked up one for myself at Dadeland. Good hunting!

Damn you the man....I just ordered one for instore pickup. Will leave my Apple order in place and decide what to do when it arrives.

Totally agreed! Unfortunately it wasn't big enough of a price difference for me to have an excuse to fly to Honolulu to pick this up! :(

I was able to pickup a $2199 model last night at the Kahula store in Honolulu. They said their deliveries had been infrequent and unpredicatable.

I was there around 3:30pm today. I actually ended up buying a 2.6/8GB/512GB and returning the 2.3/8GB/256GB. But after thinking about it, and shuffling around some of my data. The 256GB may be enough capacity.

I haven't opened up the 512GB yet, but the store gave me the option of returning the 256GB if I want.

What version were you looking for?

i was there 2 days ago and they only had the higher end in stock. i am looking for the 2.3/8GB/256.
 
Boylston Street Boston Flagship store had the lower end and mid one in stock all of today. Ultimate was out of stock though
