Seriously considering this now... Depends on what other assignments I may have to do over the break though, I should be able to use my Surface RT... The thing is about as useful as a PowerBook G4!

I I just have an Android 5.1 phone and an iPad. But I will see if I can save files recorded there to FTP or by email attachment to get it on my PPC.
For the iPad/iOS you can use "iFiles".
iFiles is able to connect to Dropbox, iCloud, GDrive, OneDrive, webDAV, SFTP and AFP (PPC) and may import foto/video or other documents. So you're able to move files from any to the location to another,.

I use iFunbox on my MacBook Pro because ifiles costs $8 AU! as the same cost as minecraft i think? im trying to find a old version of ifunbox for powepc.

edit: I just found out that i can use Google Drive in tenfourfox!:) But can i use Onedrive?

edit 2: I can use onedrive in TenFourFox.:)

edit 3: There sadly is no ifunbox for PowerPC. :(

I remember iFunBox. Always used it's competitor DiskAid (now Imazing), which unfortunately doesn't connect to newer iPhones (iP newer than 3gs).
Let us know, if you succeed in connecting your PPC & iPad with iFunbox!
About iFiles: one of the best expenses I've ever made for an iOS App (!),since it can connect with each and everything to move or copy files. The phone does all the work, so I have to admit, that this is not the real PPC-challenge-thing.
But in 2005 there had been no iCloud, no GoogleDrive and no OneCloud too...
So with this workaround any PPC can be connected to nearly anything again in high speed from the phone's side, which is the thing that really counts for my.
OneDrive is a lot faster than GoogleDrive using TFF. But you may also connect to OneDrive with Office2008 Document Connection - a Client for PPC, which is really handsome!
My primary intend that lead me to iOS/iFiles had been the search for a way to batch-import photos off the phone to PPC.

The macbook pro is a Late 2011 running macOS Sierra which i already know iFunBox works with. (It has worked for 3 months now.:))

I just can't find a PowerPC compatible version for my G5!:( I might just find a version for my 2006 iMac then.

I guess iFunBox works the same way DiskAid does and depends on a working iTunes-iOS-connection.
If iTunes fails to connect to the iOS-device, DiskAid and it advanced features fails too.
For this reason iFiles is much more reliable and faster pushing it's Cloud-abilities and connectivity to any AFP/FTP/SFTP-connected old Mac, both PPC and intel. I was so amazed about this easy way to lift up my G4Books into 2017.
My personal challenge to get everything nicely connected is complete so far :)
Same for home and office: connect to synched Dropbox/OneDrive/GoogleDrive via FileSharing to any Cloud-connected/synched machine. Use RDP/ScreenSharing to a more capable machine for heavy duty tasks. And connect Win-Server through RDP (via intel-c2d-iMacs) with G4mini-fax-server. That's really fun.

So I figured out how I'm going to do this. My iBook is broken so I have to use my MBA for work, but at home I'll install a SSD in my G5 Quad and run that as much as I can during the week. It should be interesting!

I got a defective Geforce 4 TI and i'm working with the seller to get a replacement, anyway I got the ram maxedd out on this windtunnel installed ilife 09 and figured the only way i'm gonna stay sane over a week with a powerpc mac is if I have at least 25 gigs of music.

Hell, I'll throw an attempt to and use my Dual 1.8 G5 and get my iBook running on 10.5 as well and use that on the go. Really only one website I can't use on PPC because of Flash limitations.

Shout out to @Altemose for the idea!

INFO:
Alright, so it's about to be 2017. The newest PowerPCs are 12 years old, Leopard is turning 10, and support continues to shrink as the weeks go on. However, there are the brave few who still only have PowerPC Macs, whether it be by choice or because they need to. So I pose a challenge to all forum members who own a PowerPC Mac, use only your PowerPC Mac(s) for one week.

RULES:
1. You cannot use any other computer UNLESS you absolutely have to for school/work (which essentially shows you can't go one week on PPC only).
2. Keep internet usage on your phone/tablet to a bare minimum in order to keep the challenge as close to 2006 as possible.
3. Try to document your experiences with using PowerPC-only either by writing daily updates on this thread or recording and uploading daily videos. (You may use your phone to do this, but if possible, use a camera you can use with your PPC)
(Comment if you think there should be additional rules)

WEEK OF:
January 1st-7th, 2017

This is going to be really fun to see if we can complete the challenge.

Comment if you want to take part in the challenge.
[doublepost=1482803235][/doublepost]I am a first-time poster with a few power pc's. I would like to participate and post some of my thoughts and experiences using my machines. Being retired from teaching, I have time to run
a Wallstreet with OS 9.2, an aqua Clamshell, a Pismo with OS X 10.4 and OS 9. I use an aluminum G4 laptop and a G5 daily so using them aren't challenging. I'll focus my attention on the G3's and the Pismo I modified to a G4. Sounds like fun. I've enjoyed reading the posts and am amazed at the quality of knowledge expressed and the kindness of all involved.

Tomorrow is the last day before my trip, and then I'll be back home after New Years, so I'll have to finalize any importing and syncing of my iPods and photos and such, because when I return I'll be on the PowerPC challenge (after doing the iOS challenge for 4 days!)! :)

Just sold my Mid 2011 Macbook Air 11inch (I used it for 4 years). Now I'm back to use my old Powerbook G4 15inch 1,5GHZ. I use it because of the tweaked Dropbox as it able to connect to my Dropbox account since I used Dropbox for my writing.

With great sadness,

I announce that I won't be able to take part in this challenge because my Macintosh just wants to be an annoying prick.

I've had quite an eventful week to be perfectly honest. I was going to purchase an eMac but the deal fell through at the last moment (seller gave no reason) then I got a free monitor that I was promised. The monitor worked fine with the Mac so I tried restoring a Leopard image.. it worked but it didn't really get me too far as Setup Assistant and Keyboard Assistant crashed.. Disabling those still didn't get to Finder which is quite sad as I really wanted Leopard on my machine..

After getting fed up with my non-working Leopard installation, I installed Tiger which installed without any problems. I wasted a few hours trying to get a USB Wi-Fi dongle to work but that didn't work either..

After a few more attempts at trying to get it online, I was able to do so via EasyTether on my Nexus 7. My trusty Sawtooth decided to not be a sport and it went back to its old habit of crashing randomly. OS X 10.4 installed fine and the GM build (i.e 10.4.0) was fine for the most part but OS X 10.4.11 still crashes randomly..

TenFourFox didn't even want to load and I tried the 7400 (G4) and G3 versions for good measure, I tried 45.6.0, 38.10.0 and 31.8.0; both for G4 and G3. All of them crashed on start up sadly.. Camino, Safari and OmniWeb were all a big mess, crashing randomly without warning.. I tried using Panther and Jaguar kexts for the GPU which didn't really do much. I even tried using no graphics kext, which still didn't affect much.

I honestly don't know why my Mac behaves this way and nobody I've asked ever came up with a solution. Before you tell me to reinstall Tiger, I used a couple of different DVDs and installed about 10 times back in 2010. All the same problem, and yes, I upgraded to 10.4.11 on all of them too. I've also attached an image for you to feast your eyes on! Just joking, but I like seeing people's Macintosh screenshots (call me weird!). If anybody feels *reallly* sorry for me, I'll accept a smaller PowerPC machine (be it a laptop or a Mini computer), that's a G3 or newer, for the cost of shipping.

Thanks for all the help and farewell! (I hope to continue being active on this section when/if I get a PowerPC Macintosh but it's pretty hard to find a G3-G5 locally)

Regards,
Aurora

P.S: Ask me for the password if ya wish to see the logs. Just send me a PM :)

First post updated with all participants who made posts on this thread now on the official list. Happy to announce we currently have 38 participants in the challenge! That's an outstanding turnout for this, as originally I wasn't even expecting more than 20 people. Now we're only 2 away from 40!

Who else wants to participate???
[doublepost=1483110881][/doublepost]My PowerMac G5, the main computer I'll be using during the challenge, is all setup and ready to be used alone with its PPC brethren for a week! Kudos to @gavinstubbs09 for the awesome wallpaper!

I bought a new battery for my GigaTiBook yesterday, so that will be one of my laptops for the week. I think I'll take that one to school with its new Newertech battery that'll give me 4+hrs :)
