hope the fix also applies to the silicrylic case. That one seems to offer a bit more protection. Gotta wait for the iphone 4 backorder so waiting 2-3 wks for the case isn't going to be an issue for me. This is why I wait for awhile before getting new things...I like having a great protective case from the get go and letting others go through the frustration over the problems for me :p

@ Adster,
Whoa to ur pictures :( that's a real bummer

I was under the impression that the case was entirely made up of "the coating", and that it couldn't be worn off.

Although my feather has not yet done this it's a bit dissapointing to see.

My matte coating is also rubbing off in a corner. I think the sharper edges on the ip4 compared to the 3GS will make this happen faster than before. I'm definitely going to ask for a replacement when their new production comes in. I think it will take a couple production runs for them to fix this.

I remember I had this problem with the 3G incase slider but not my 3GS slider.

Absolutely *love* this case. Great feel, tight fit, easy to remove, and doesn't obstruct cleaning the screen (when a case comes up over the edge). The most lint-resistant you'll get with any case, to boot. Slightly worried about the flash issue (a defect is a defect, eh) but I don't think I'll even bother with emailing for a replacement. In the past 2 years, I used my camera sparingly, and never in the dark. Not like a flash picture will be all that clear in the first place anyways. The LED flash still works as a flashlight, so I'm all set. Only thing left now is the JB!

I had the feather for my 3GS for the entire year I had it, it never peeled or rubbed off and looked pretty much as good at the end as it did the first day. I got the feather for my 4 right away and it's an awesome looking case. Really keeps the industrial feel of the iphone intact - fits perfect.

Just got mine yesterday and the impressions are positive. Everyone who has seen it says it's really nice, especially the feel of the outside.

Did get the dreaded camera/LED not fitting right. Also, it's inconclusive if it's really helping with the reception issue since I don't know if it's even displaying properly. At my desk where I had the issue before it's fixed, displaying full bars! However at some other places it will still show the same reception problem.

For me, working purely from experience rather than bars, the phone is connecting calls almost instantaneously, compared to the slight-to-long delay I was getting when it was naked. Big improvement.

So I've had my Feather for exactly a week now and I'm noticing some frustrating things. Yes, like most of you the camera hole doesn't fit properly and the flash causes issues with pictures, but most importantly the rubbery coating is starting to peel off on the corners.

Now, I haven't dropped the phone at all, and only keep it in a holster. the fact that this is happening after just a week is unacceptable. I have attached a few pics of what I'm talking about.

I haven't emailed Incipio, but I will soon. I know some of you have gotten on their list to get a new case shipped out when the have the corrected units.

My previous Incipio case for 3GS I had for about a year and never saw this kind of peel. Your case probably was defect. I have seen similar peel from heavy use but should not be like that in any normal circumstances. Are you sure you didn't have keys in your pocket?

I didn't have my keys in the pocket and I have the same wear. I also have the 3GS feather and the matte coating seems like it might be harder on that case. I'm sure they'll improve the process as time goes on.

I used to have the same problem with Incase Slider case but Incipio held up quite nicely.

I don't even put it in my pocket, it goes into a belt holster. I'm going to send them a quick email right now and see what they say.

Covering up the back of a beauty of a phone like the iPhone 4 is kind of like making a beautiful woman wear a burka.

I just ordered this today. I should be getting this Wednesday. I'll post my opinions when I get it. I'm just debating now if I should stick with this or my Full Shield with the Bumper.

Can somebody please confirm whether they have updated the design to make the flash cutout bigger? Thanks

Based on their emails, they said the new ones will be ready in 2 weeks. So not sure what you'll get right now if you order.

I took delivery of my feather on June 29th. Unfortunately, I found today mine is suffering the same defects as Adster's post #197.

im on the road so i have no camera but using Adsters photo, mine looks exactly the same. I will say the phone is also kept in a pocket alone...

the feather from the 3GS i think was homogeneous in its make up, so if it got banged, or scratched its make up was the same throughout, you wouldnt notice it 'wearing off'. (fence companies do this with plastic fences so if you hit them or ding them you cant tell since the plastic underneath is the same as the surface)

looks like the iP4 ones just have this coating on them :(
this things gonna be ugly in a few weeks...

YUP I"M GETTING THE SAME PAINT CHIPS ON THE EDGES AND CORNERS OF THE CASE. FAIL

i'll be looking into a different case soon. but i'll still take another incipio feather with the fixed flash cut out for FREE from incipio.

still...what a fail.

DO NOT BUY THIS CASE! even when the second batch comes out! (unless they fix this paint chipping issue as well)

'Peeling'

I have experienced this on my feather case for my iPad, a quick email to Incipio and a replacement was shipped.

I have been using Incipio products since my first gen iPhone and have been really pleased with them. Their customer service experience is one of the best (if not the best) I have ever dealt with.

If you have a problem with your Incipio product at least give them the opportunity to put it right.

same here... i emailed them and they have sent (still waiting.. i'm in the UK).. a replacement feather...

after a week of owning the feather - i really like it... the feel, the look.. it's just the damn edges are so scuffed and matte is rubbed off... it looks manky already!

my 3gs feather after 1 years still looks in better condition than the ip4 feather!

still.. i'll +1 to the customer service of incipio! :)

Mines started to do this, but I got it off Amazon, will I still be able to send it back?

Incipio Feather

I just got this case in today and put it on my phone. I have an invisible shield front and back and seems to fit okay. I'll see how it fares throughout the day before I pass anymore judgement on how it fits with the shield on.

if it's sold by amazon, then i guess you can send it back...

my case now looks really manky :(all 4 corners are really scuffed and the matte finish has peeled off.

OK, so it is protecting the phone, but Incipio should get their act together and make sure it's a bit more robust, like their previous feather cases.
