incipio feather iphone4

finally put the feather on my iphone. (got the case first)

I like it a lot. Just what I was looking for. I was just going to go with a full body screen but no chance. I like the back glass but the smudges just look like crap to me. The feather is nice with the matte plus adds protection.
 
I have bought the case through amazon.com. Do I have to sent incipio my old case back in order to get a replacement or do they need my amazon receipt?
Tried emailing them but did not receive an answer...

give them a day or two, my emails got responses within 24 hours. They say they are willing to replace my case because it is still under warranty. So regardless of the retailer you bought it from, its a manufacture warranty issue, so they should be able to take care of replacing it for you. gl.

I ordered from them through amazon as well. Took them 4 days to get back to me but they said they'll be sending me a replacement.
 
got my free replacement feather in the post yesterday from incipio... don't know if it still suffers from the same issues - peeling etc..

i'll wait till my current feather totally looks like shht before replacing it with the new one... which will probably be in a few days time at this rate!

Did you get a shipping confirmation before they shipped the free replacement?
 
Mine arrived last week... put it on, hated it, sold it :(

LOVE it on the 3GS, but just didn't see "right" on the iP4 so am more than happy to stick with the Bumper for now :)

never mind....the email was just in my junk mail folder. I emailed them on sunday and got a reply back about the replacement on tuesday.

Pretty damn good customer service.

And i love the case, highly recommend it. I prefer it's feel over the naked feel of the iphone.
 
got my replacement feather case in today. was hoping they it was manufactured with the bigger led flash hole, but its not. So production of these "2nd gen" cases are not a reality yet. oh well. the replacement offer is still availible for these modified feather case. 3 cases total?.... yes.

What does the "2nd gen" version offer over the 1st? I have the 1st one and some of the matte finish has started flaking off. I had one on my 3GS which never did that. Is that what they fixed?
 
when i say 2nd gen, i'm referring to incipio's acknowledgement of complaints about the led flash cut out on the back of case not being big enough. The flash would not diffuse properly, and the picture turned out a lil washed. Many of us have received replies stating that incipio will be manufacturing feather cases with bigger cut outs to alleviate this issue.

Ya, the matte finish flaking off was the reason i got this first replacement. Cheap matte black coating. basic plastic +synthetic rubber coating=garbage. I know a lot of brands/cases (case-mate) that are entirely made from the synthetic rubber like plastic, not just coated.

however i'll stick with the feather for now, cause it looks so good, besides i'll have three feathers to go through, should get me through to the end of the year.
 
So the new ones don't flake off? That would be sweet. Even with my minor flaking, the Feather is a fine case for me.
 
This is what has happened to my iPhone 4 Incipio Feather after less than a week in my pocket, it actually started on day one (no keys or coins etc in my pocket). Had a couple of feathers for my 3GS, but they did not do this (although they did crack).

I can literally rub the coating off with my finger. Cant see in the photos, but the edges have completely lost there coating right around.

Apparently im not alone and i highly recommend people dont buy this case.

I've had the case for about two weeks and have the same issues as others with the matte coating peeling off. I've also never abused the case and only kept it in my pocket without any keys or coins. I think it must be some manufacturing issue.

I emailed incipio asking about it, so I'll see what happens.

For now it does look a bit dingy, although I guess you could see the bright side and say it looks vintage and worn in.

It also might look all right if the entire coating comes off. Then it would be a slightly more glossy finish, although might be more slippery to hold.
 
I emailed Incipio about the peeling off of the matte coating and they very quickly, like within an hour, emailed me back and said they would send me out a new case when they came in stock next week. They never really addressed in the response though what the problem was or if the new case would still experience the peeling issue. I guess it won't, but not very good info on what was going on. They must know about the issue for them to respond so quickly with an offer to send a new case. So, we'll see if that one is manufactured correctly.

I'm also getting a bumper from Apple through the free case program, so I'll have 3 cases for my iPhone now.
 
Hello everyone, I just talked to Incipio this morning following up my previous complaint on July 7th about the feather peeling and the camera hole mis-aligned.

I was curious about moving to a non-matte glossy version. He said they have a glossy black arriving next week and a glossy white available right now, both with correct camera holes. I decided to try the white and see how that is. He shipped it to my today, and since I'm only an hour or so from Incipio, I hope it arrives tomorrow.

I'll post a full review of the non-matte version here on Macrumors.
 
Ordered the pink one through Amazon last night. Should have it tomorrow and I'll post thoughts then, but this will just be my temp case until my Speck Geometric arrives.

I emailed them last week and they said it would be approximately 2 weeks so I'm assuming another week/week and half. I'm in no rush since the current case works fine.

I think the peeling might be a batch issue. I've had mine for a month and it looks good as new, so it's not a universal problem.

Strange, either way.
 
Is it just me or is the camera cutout larger than usual? Could this be a new batch? This is the "Pearl metallic black"
