Got my OVRMLD today!

Firstly, yes it is a very hard case, but if you have used the Candy shell before you will figure out the trick quick.

You basically must pull the thin rubber part where the the volume buttons are and slowly push it in. The final push will require to pull the bottom edge out so the iPhone fits in snuggly. To get it out, you must again pull the rubber bit where the volume buttons are and slowly push the phone out from the back of the case, pretty much the opposite of the Candy shell.

Pro's:

- Is very strong and hard, yet has silicon inside to help absorb the damage, a thiner version of the candy shell.

- Has a MUCH MUCH better finish than the Candy shell. The all one colour finish helps with the black stealth look with no contrast colour.

- Does not add much bulk, but you can feel the weight it adds. Doesn't bother me with protection it gives in exchange.

-Proper cut out for speakers and connector. Cutout pillars are VERY STRONG. Will not break like Candyshell!

- Smooth matt finish wont get damaged too quick.

Cons:

- Not easy put in or take out if you haven't done something similar before.
- You can see your oily finger marks on the smooth matt, but not as bad as a Candyshell.

That's it so far. Feel free to ask questions.

I've included a photo show its next to my Griffin clearview case.

I really admire you for being able to put that case on. I just could not do it. I hope no damage was done to your phone.

I have a Speck case on right now and putting that case on is so easy compared to trying to put the OVRMLD on. I sure love the finish, but still plan on returning it. I like to change cases periodically and this case will not allow me to do that. Enjoy. :)

Just got my Incipio Feather SHINE in Obsidian Black that I ordered off Amazon over the weekend. Case fits great, but did interfere a bit with my ghost Armor side protection so I removed it. Pictures were taken with my coworkers iPhone 4.

Don't mind the dust. I was too excited to take pictures.

Just got my Incipio Frequency and I like it a lot. It's very similar to my PixelSkin HD case but the fit is much better. It feels thinner too because of the chamfered edges.

The only negative I see to this case is that the power button is a little difficult to press compared to the PixelSkin. Not a big deal.

Not sure if I will end up going with the Frequency or the elago Slim Fit when that comes next week.

Feather

I received my Incipio Feather the other day. I ordered it in the Cyan/Blue Color.

The outside is the usual soft incipio feather feel that was on the 4/4S cases. The inside was very hard and jagged though, the edges were also very sharp and it did scratch a corner of my phone (white 5)

Weren't the insides of the incipio feather cases 4/4S that same soft plastic feel as the outside? I know the one for my iPad is.

I purchased a Sonix Wayfer Case that is a much softer feel on the inside, but sadly - it doesn't fit the phone well.

I'm debating between the OVRMLD (I had the incipio step for the 4S which seems similar) and the DualPro.

The OVRMLD has far superior protection correct? The only thing stopping me is that the case is $35, which seems way too much for a case. Anyone know where to get the OVRMLD cheaper?

I don't think the OVRMLD is a tow piece design. Someone in another thread is getting one today so we will see. Its similar (I think) to the Speck Candy Shell.... one piece with silicon inside.

Got it. Thanks for the correction.

In terms of protection, I would guess that they are about the same. If anything, Dual Pro would provide a better protection between the two, thanks to dual layers of protection (silicone + outer case) and a slightly bulkier design.

If you prefer a thinner case, OVRMLD would be the way to go. Good luck. I'm also looking into something similar as well.

Here's some pictures of the NGP Obsidian Black I just got (Just took it out of pocket, not super clean hehe). Just as my previous one on the 4S I'm really liking the grip/fit and protection. The black is like a Matte Black, with glossy black on the strip by the camera and the volume buttons.

Only Con is that it takes quite an effort to hit the power/snooze button, though I was used to it being bare for a while. Overall great case for $20

So..have any of you guys noticed the DualPro issue with it slowing down the data/wifi signal? Read about it a few times already.

That's honestly the only thing stopping me from getting it!

Wow, maybe it is the lighting but it looks like it was taken out of the mold and left with all the seems still showing....my frequency looks much better and its basically the same case! My NGP should be here tomorrow in the same color. I will compare it.

Yeah I'd like to know the difference. The pictures do make it look a bit worse, I took it with the sunlight hitting directly through the window and looked like the dust stuck to the fine edges of the mold lines as you mentioned. Looks a lot better in person, but I'm wondering how it differs from the Frequency

This is impossible and its made up in the peoples' heads. An all-plastic case can not affect the signal.

No issues with data/wifi with my DualPro.

Black NGP just arrived

My black NGP just arrived and it's a keeper. Easy to take on and off, and nicely protective. Nice feel. This will be my case when I am not using one of the minimalist cases. Perhaps just a little loose near the speaker/charging port, but not bad for a flexible case. I like the fact that the sides are flat (rather than curved in keeping with the phone.

OK, after going through a Speck Candyshell, Pixelskin HD, elago Slim Fit 2, and Incipio Frequency, to me the clear winner is the Incipio Frequency.

The more I have this case on, the more I love it. Tight fit. Thin. Great texture. Protective lip. Decent protection.

Here's how I would rate them:

1. Frequency
2. Slim Fit 2
3. Pixelskin HD
4. Candyshell

I'm really disappointed with Incipio's line ... they did so well in the past, but failed on this one. On all of the current gen, the ports on the bottom were guessed, so they don't line up aesthetically. Compare this to the Speck cases where the speaker holes and cutouts are exact.

Even the folio case from incipio which I bought at verizon, seemed cheap and thrown together. The earpiece hole didn't even properly align with the earpiece speaker when the case was closed. I returned it, along with my frequency case. The frequency was nothing more than the $2 cases that are sold on eBay.

Sad, incipio used to be really good. I'm hoping these issues get resolved and are chalked up to them not having hands-on with the phone as far in advance as they needed to release a fully baked product.

Incipio Frequency !

Frequency is exactly what I was looking for, having the ringke slim case was nice, but unfortunately the iphone got a little scratch on the bezel, so I needed a slim case that didn't leave the top exposed., I saw the dualpro, otter box, but I felt them to bulky, Frequency is nice. Sturdy and sleek, Highly recommend it!

Completely agree. Just got my Frequency tonight from Amazon and I love it. Perfect fit, lip covers just enough of the bezel, and the texture makes the phone very easy to grip. The case adds hardly any weight or thickness to the phone. I rarely drop my phone, so I just needed a simple and sleek case to protect from minor scratches and dings. This should do the trick!

Also, my sleep/power button is very easy to press with the Frequency. Maybe they've recently adjusted the material? Regardless, this is a great case and I highly recommend it.

Yes, I have also come to the same conclusion.

This week I have tried the NGP, feather, Frequency and the Otterbox Commuter, and loads of other cases from Speck, Gear 4 and cheap OEM'S.

The Frequency is the hands down winner, it's also the best looking case IMO (although I do like the 'tactical' look of the Otterbox).
