I'm not. Other than size and price the iPhone 6 plus is the better phone. The regular 6 feels midrange compared to other Android phones. Go big or go home for most people here.

the 6 is/has (in comparison to android phones):

a) Similar screen quality if not better in most cases;
b) faster
c) better camera
d) similar battery life
e) Better looking
f) Way better ecosystem(games, apps, etc.)
g) way better support.

It is by far better than every single Android device.

I still prefer the 6+.

I find it hilarious that Apple has the 3 fastest phones in the market.

I ordered last night at 3:05 AM EST, and this is the status with AT&T Premier Account (expected ship date 10/31-11/1) Anyone think this will likely change to a sooner date at some point?

I'm hoping these estimates are worst case scenarios.

I was given an est. of 10/13-10/22 for my premier account

That's me too but I suppose the preorders come from those who were anxiously awaiting the larger form factors.

^^^ This is me. I've been on the 4S for a while now. I didn't jump on the 5s expecting a larger screen. Its about the size of an S3 and I'm pretty comfortable with that. If it would've been any larger (the 6), I would have probably bought the 5S.

I am surprised, because I wouldn't be able to make up my mind choosing between two new screen sizes, without at least holding them in my hand, and test the new app layouts on the Plus model.

But then again, when I buy stuff, I look very carefully at every single detail not to be deceived... probably also the reason why I can find so many hiccups even with Apple products. I'm annoying like that ;)

That's the good thing about pre-ordering the Plus. It won't arrive until after I can touch and feel both models in the Apple Store, so if I have terrible buyer's remorse I can return the unopened box (after it arrives in mid-October from AT&T) and just pick up the 4.7" model, which will probably be available for store pickup from day 1.

Of course, I expect to LOVE the Plus...

Ordered myself a 6+

To those who are saying that it's too big for a phone: I agree completely. I, however, don't really consider it a phone - more of a mini iPad mini with phone features that I will use once a month (if that).

I had a 5s and an iPad air - I felt like it was stupid to have two devices that were so close to each other in functionality (at least, for me).

The idea for me is to have a portable device that can handle reading, email, messaging, games, etc. I have no need or intention to keep it in my front pocket and whip it out 100x per day but that's just me and my very specific uses/habits.

1. I don't really know how is it possible that each year there is a "record" response for a new iPhone.(?) It could just be a marketing trick.
That could be true if any marketer ever could actually add numbers together. But they can't.

Would saying 158mm really kill you? Just wondering...

lol, it must bother you because you're in Germany? I wasn't the person who posted that, but sorry we would never (or very rarely) say 158mm, and 6.25 inches is much, much more common. It's just the way it is here, not trying to sound like it's better in anyway, just our normal.

The only time we mention mm in an iPhone measurement is its thickness, cuz its so darn thin. :)

I'm really surprised how much pent up demand there was for the Plus model. I thought most people would find it too cumbersome to use on a daily basis.

I think the battery life and OIS changed a lot of people's minds. I know it did mine. Prior to the unveiling, I was going to order the 4.7"

I ordered my iPhone 6 Plus on Verizon's website. The order confirmation say it ships by Sept 19 but the order status page says Oct 14!?!?

I attempted to preorder the 6plus this morning. I currently can complete my transaction through Apple within 24 hours or ATT (whenever their phones aren't ringing busy...)

Do I:
● Go with the ATT one that seemed to have gone through ~4a.m.EST
● Go with the Apple order that sent me an email @ 7:30 EST

I know the 6plus is way backordered but maybe the lot of everyone has some gut feelings!

Happy Pre-Order Day!:apple:

I think you're going to get an email from AT&T eventually with a less than desirable shipping estimate (few weeks at the earliest). My bet would be with Apple.

So, over 9 million units, that's bloody impressive.

I'm going to have a guess, I reckon around 10-11 million units!

Oh no, Apple are doomed!

Well the 9 million was for the entire weekend. This record is just the overnight record.

Of course though, apple will break the 9 mil also

I load up documents and bring my iPad 3 to court appearances.

When the iPad mini came out I wanted to see if it could fit into my inside jacket pocket. When I saw that it couldn't I didn't buy.

But now the Plus will pass that "test" perfectly and I can forego buying a new iPad and leave the 3 home more or less all the time. Well worth the price, and the size.

Already saw an article about sudden returns on Samsung phones. Haha. :p

Post a link!

why did ATT force us to join NEXT when our upgrade is next month???

They make more money this way because they don't subsidize any of the iPhone. I did the math and it was going to be $900 more than if I waited for the end of my contract before upgrading. Even at the higher cost, however, I was ready to jump to Next while sitting in front of the computer at 2am -- I hadn't gone to bed because I was so excited. But I threw in the towel when the Apple store still wasn't up at 3. I had to go to bed because I have to get up for work by 6.

This morning, I saw that if I ordered the iPhone Plus, I wouldn't get it until around October 21, which his when my contract expires and I can pick up the 64GB Plus for $399, so I'm just going to wait it out.

Needless to say, I'm tired and frustrated today.

Probably a large percentage of them were people coming back to IOS from Android. They are almost all going to want the Plus.

Watching all the drama of the iPhone 6 pre-orders today from the sidelines is fun. I miss it though. I remember when I used to wake up at 3AM eastern time to pre-order phones. Ah those times.....Enjoy it all you Apple fans.

I'm nervous as the credit card I gave expires this month, and it appears I'm not charged until time of shipment! Ugh!!!! Nothing is ever easy.
