I never said the iPhone sucks. Hell I have a iPod Touch myself to play games alongside my Palm Pre. But it's a simple fact that the iPhone has nothing to match the features of the Pre, and if you fanboys keep lubing up for the BOHICA instead of complaining and forcing Apple to make real upgrades, you'll be stuck waiting instead of making real improvements to user experience.

lolz @ you calling anyone else a fanboy.

Things aren't facts just cos you say so you know. Not even "simple" ones...

The Pre is $200. Best Buy doesn't do rebates and Sprint relented and did away with the update as well.

And compared side by side the iPhone has twice as much storage, while the Pre gives you twice the functionality ,at least.

What functionality do they have, their main selling point has been multitasking, and it seems no one gives a damn about that. 50 000 miserable phones, what a joke. Nobody wants to switch to Sprint for it. It can't even record video, at least the latest 200 16 gb iphone records video.

well apps will be able to use their own, customisable sound notifiers, so you will eventually get to know which sound is for which app. Also, the appropriate App's icon will be badged.
So now instead of simple but powerful multitasking where you can see what apps are running in one swipe, now we're memorizing musical notes?

A Christmas chime in g sharp for Pandora?
A DJ vinyl scratch for iDracula
Baby giggle and two frying pans smashed together for Fandango?

And yo see the icon badge you still have to go to the home screen and kill your current running app. Again, it's a silly solution.

Engadget says they sold more than that, closer to 100,000 than 50,000 and Apple sold 150000 in the same time. And that on limited units out there in the retail channel from Palm. Big whoop.

Fixed. :)

You've got to be kidding me. No really. Push notification? The Pre has fantastic multitasking that allows you to use 12-15 apps (ANY APP) at the same time, PLUS unobtrusive notifications, and Apple decided to use push noitification to match everything? How does that match multitasking among all apps? Hell you're still killing apps everytime you go App>Homescreen>2nd app>Homescreen>1st>app>Homescreen>3rd app.

Such an archaic system shored up by an even more archaic system. You'd be better off keeping track of apps with an abacus taped to the back.

Actually you can have 12-15 open at the same time, you can't really use 12-15 at the same time on that small screen, that's why multitasking on a phone really is no big deal, now on my desk top with two 25 inch monitors multitasking is important.

of course you miss out a rather relevant point - the iPhone with its "silly solution" will actually make it through a day without a charge.

Unlike the Pre (according to numerous reviews) with its "simple but powerful multi tasking"

Bingo! You have to care that it sells well cause no developer with commone sense waste their time and effort to reach only a fraction of Pre phones in comparison with the Iphone.

You're basically going to be running the same 12-15 apps at at time you can run for the rest of the phone's lifespan. The point being the phone has to sell well enough to keep developers interested or else it's another failed Iphone competitor despite it's good qualities over the Iphone.

Multi tasking is great he can open all the apps that the pre has at the same time:D

They said between 50 000 and 100 000, what a joke. The original iphone cost 600 bucks and moved way more units than this. Seems most people don't give a damn about multitasking, let's be fair and say they sold 75 000, still a bloody joke. So much for multitasking.

Engadget and Gizmodo have both said that the Pre has battery life comparable to the iPhone in their reviews. The idea that multitasking will make the Pre lose a charge in 2 hours is Apple fanboy drivel.

Again I ask:

You guys want Apple to go up against this simple yet elagent and powerful multitasking feature with network dependent push notifications and music chimes?

Now stop picking on the Palm boy, he has to justify his poor purchase somehow, after all how can 50 000 people be wrong?

Answer when 40 000 000 say so.

Like I said how's it better everyone keeps saying it's comparable to the iPhone.

Now take you hairy Palm back to the Palm Pre forum.

50,000 in a day=/= 40,000,000 in over 2 years.

Palm didn't sell 50,000 devices in a day, they sold 50,000 over the weekend.

Another lie.

They won't be at 40 000 000 in two years, they will be bankrupt or bought out by the end of this year with this fail.

LOL, what should I get a new iphone at 99 with an installed base for iphone OS at over 40 million, with 50 000 apps or a Palm Pre at 199 with 18 apps, and 50 000 sold?

you've got to give the guy credit for pure nerve...

calling himself "Palm Pimp", then coming onto an Apple forum, saying how much "superior" the Pre is (while ignoring any arguments he doesn't like), and in the same breath calling iPhone users who disagree with him "fanboys"

Can anyone say "people in glass houses"?

Palm Stock got about $0.50 bump after opening day and now it's down a $1.00, that says all that needs to be said. (especially when your shares are only approx $12.00)

How many did they sell of the in their opening days?

Why did they mask the screen with those rounded corners?
Who cares? Rounded corners, square corners, it's not that big a deal.

It would be like me arguing over copy and paste or the camera between these phones - just not worth it.

Did y'all see the dig Apple gave Palm with the 18 app comment, lol.

Lord... seriously folks, y'all (both Extreme Apple Fanboys *and* Palm Fanboys) are a bunch of insecure babies. Seriously.

Reading through this thread just gives me the chuckles.

Get a life folks, it's just a phone.

Nope, we'll Jailbreak and install Backgrounder, which with the faster processor and more RAM will be great.
Forgetting the fact that you're idea of a solution is a third party hack, Backgrounded only works for ONE APP at a time. You hold down the Home button in the app and you go back the the home screen. You have to remember which app it is, since the app icon isn't tagged and even if it was you have to flick through pages to find it. Not to mention you can only findout if Backgrounder is enabled ot disabled by opening the app in the first place.

Backgrounder for multitasking is as useful as Quickgold was for searching through the iPhone, which is to say it was laughable.

50,000 in a day=/= 40,000,000 in over 2 years.

It also does not equal the 200,000 the iPhone sold when it was first released.

Now, when will your ridiculous posts stop? When the mods take care of them, so you can cry "unfair bias" from this site?

Please, cut the childish crap. You're making those who can appreciate both phones look foolish.
