there’s no update in stores yet :/
what color did you get btw?
Gold. Was bored with silver. Already have an iPad Pro in silver. On Space Grey scratches show more according to people.
Is this an Apple problem, or your government?

I ask because I have family in the Philippines, and the government there taxes things in such a way that it is more economical for us to send the same product purchased in the USA to them even after air express shipping, than it is to send them money to buy the same things locally at dealers there.
Fault is with both of them. Let's hope things improve in future.

Congrats, how's the overall performance specially Chrome?
Very good. Earlier i had a MBP 2015. Much much better than it. No overheating, can play as many 4k YouTube as I want.
Everything installs fast due to fast SSD. The Touch ID is also super useful as Apple asks your password too many times for even little things.

If you guys want to ask anything else. Feel free.
My model is Base MBA. I never go for more storage as external storage is cheaper. Wanted to go for 16GB ram but since this is 1st gen M1 product. I figured I will update in a year or two.

It has reached chennai BD hub and waiting for it to be delivered to me.
Mine says "network delay, will impact timely delivery". Currently, it has been picked up from the Airport Hub and now I'm waiting for it to reach the hub nearest to me. Hoping to get my hands on it today!

Congrats guys! My delivery date is 3rd-9th December. Hoping it comes before that!

Hi all,
I receivd my Mac Mini M1 (Base model) today itself. It is a "MADE IN CHINA" product. I ordered it on 11th November and it was shipped on 24th November from "MUMBAI" to Raipur (Chhattisgarh).

i come from the same laptop (mbpr 2015). i sold it last month when it got too slow to use peacefully. even twitter wouldn’t scroll without heavy stutter. i went for the 8gb because this is in the same 2018 factor and i’m sure a redesign is pending within two years. i definitely don’t want to be stuck with a 2016 design for the next 5-6 years.

how’s the battery life and speakers compared to mbp? also thermal performance as in it doesn’t overheat or it gets only slightly warm?

Even I was tired of 2015 MBP. Simplest of tasks and it used to run hot. The only way it was even usable was by using TG Pro app and keeping the fans at near max always.

The speakers are great and they are plenty loud. Till now I have not experienced any slowdowns or heating. Chrome is absolutely flying.
I was watching a movie, had 10-15 tabs open in chrome. Few other apps were open. I was also extracting a 40GB Zip game file and simultaneously copying my backup to MBA from hard disk. Not a hint of stutter at all.

Buy from AliExpress. You can get one of those 10 in 1 Hubs in less than 3k.
It takes around 30 days. And they have good refund policy incase your item does not reach you.

will they last for 2 years at least? also i didn’t consider aliexpress because of the recent issues with the government. i can’t wait for 30-40 days for it to arrive as i need to use an external monitor with it as soon as it arrives.
some reviews note issues with wifi while using some usb c hubs (not specifically to M1). maybe this is an issue with these generic usb c hubs?

can somebody please try Boom 3D app if it works fine or not? it’s currently on sale for 700rs and it’s one of my must have apps for mac.

Finally got my Mac and setting it up right now. Already having issues with the Logitech M720 Triathlon mouse. Cannot connect the bluetooth mouse, and the old Apple mouse keeps disconnecting. Would update regarding the performance of Mac mini once I have the installed all the updates and the necessary apps.

There is a whole thread about bluetooth issues. Keep us updated.

I do not know if it is just MacBooks but on my 2015 MBP, Logitech G604 lagged like crazy. With USB receiver it was fine. Right now I have a Logitech Pebble. It seems to be working fine on my new MBA.

Also the performance of Logitech Pebble in Bootcamp Windows on my old MBP was far far better than in MacOS.

I have already installed macports on Mac mini m1, I have working alternative for xquartz; as xquartz is not Apple Silicon compatible.
