I can tell, Intel is very afraid. They know that Apple is super ahead of schedule and will likely complete all transition to ARM on Macs by this summer.

By the way, if they want to do comparison ad, they’re aiming at wrong company. They should be aiming at AMD, because AMD is spanking Intel’s butt right now.

But they won’t because Intel is still bitter about losing their only lifeline that was Apple.

Just keep digging, Intel. This new image looks great on you
Just remember, apple started this "image" with having the PC guy act like a nit wit on their release video of the M1. So if anyone is the petty group it's apple. Nice try though.

Pretty sad on Intel's part. Intel has been using the same chip factory process size (14nm) since the iPhone 6 (Galaxy s5) and the market is leaving Intel behind because of Intel's executive choices, decisions and blunders in the past. Last years iPhone 12 uses a 5nm fab size (which is really around 7nm for Intel they measure slightly differently), but shows how the market has passed Intel here. Gamers going for higher end CPU's now want AMD's as a result of the performance hit Intel's CPU's take because of this as does the server market.

Apple is still a huge Intel customer...all their big money Mac's are Intel only at this point and to actively be stabbing a big customer in the back in public like this, says alot. Their new CEO from Qualcomm seems like a (insert colorful adjective of choice here), based on the choices he's been making since arrival at Intel.
It’s not unexpected at all for Intel to do this.

It’s faster, and much easier, to launch an ad campaign than it is to release a product that will compete directly. It’ll take them years to get a better product out, just like it took Apple years to get Apple Silicon out.

Think of it as “Step 2” in Intel’s “battle” to keep as much of their market share as they can. “Step 1” was their recent leadership/talent shakeup.

Can’t wait to see how they are gonna go about calling addition of HDMI and SD slot in 2022 “a leap forward” or “true progress” or “innovation like no other” :D

For Apple, the addition of HDMI and SD will be an incredible feat of marketing.

Apple face-planted removing the SD Card reader. Pro's don't upgrade their cameras that cost $5k and beyond for 10+ years or more. Having to have a dongle for that specific thing twas GOOFY.

Intel was king, it’s so sad to see them like this.

I think it’s time to sell my Intel stock and invest it in Apple.

As usual, Intel will go strangely silent in a few years when Windows laptops are 100% USB-C. (See: Samsung dunking on Apple for dropping the headphone jack, then they do the same a year later without comment.)

Who is going to buy an Intel Mac in the next 12 months.Only those who don’t know about the M1. We have Parallels 16 Tech Preview and Windows 10 ARM 64 Preview running perfectly. Now we can run our Intel FLOWSOLV(R) v5.3 on Big Sur including Intel Office 365, PTC MathCAD Prime 7, and Oracle Crystal Ball Monte Carlo Simulation software running on M1 with better performance than my Dell XPS 17 i9 8 core. And all the Intel instructions are translated to ARM instructions. Stupendous performance.

Just as pathetic as apple with their PC guy at the end of the circle "j$(K" session that was the M1 release. Got to love charts and numbers with no specific information, just "look here at these charts" we got to be better type. Great for the typical apple follower.

Just remember, I meant that they are piling on the insults even though they’re very superficial. (Being able to fold the computer further, touch screens, “better gaming”, etc etc). They’re trying to distract from the fact that once the next gen “M1”s come out they’ll be scrambling to catch up even more. None of the things they are touting has anything to do with the performance of the M1 chip vs their stagnant i-series chips. Seems pretty immature to be railing on them like this just because they left and took their business in-house instead. Just seems desperate.

keep drinking that kool - aid. touchscreen, gaming etc is important to ALOT of people. More than the m1 is to apple fans.

Fair criticisms of apple IMO. Not a great look for Intel though. People that are close to technology will recognize intel is scared of Apples silicon developments.

Gaming on mac.

I was waiting for Threadripper and Epyc to show up...

Intel is so screwed LOL.

But you have to give credit to Intel; they made their processors on 14nm be comparable with speed to AMD (albeit inefficient). I wonder if Alder Lake will turn things around for them.

So... they should keep the CD/DVD player inside so I can still listen to my music and watch some movies?
totally irrelevant comparison. By the time CD/DVD drives were removed the world had moved on to usb storage. Removing SD and USB A ports however are a brain dead move trying to push USB C forward and having "courage" to do so meanwhile 99 percent of the devices out there still USE USB-A. No correlation in the two form factors at all. Nice try though.

I don't know how often I actually need a dongle anymore. My keyboard and mouse are wireless at home and I use a 5K Thunderbolt display which gives my laptop power. I think the only thing I need a dongle for these days is attaching a usb-A device to my laptop, and I have a small convertor for that, not sure I even count that. If I have anything else attached externally, it is nothing that I didn't have to attach to my desktop/laptop a few years ago via some adapter. Don't really know what the big deal over dongles is in the first place.

You don't, though. It's entirely a user-to-user situation. All of my devices are now operating via USB-C, so I don't need any "dongles".
No. Correction. YOU don't. Millions of people are not going to buy new devices JUST to appease the great fruit like yourself. You are the exception, NOT the rule.
