Guys, I made a video of the stutter. Basically in the video I am comparing scrolling of 2015 vs 2016 model. See for yourself.
Scrolling in a folder stutters? can you please open the Activity Monitor along with it?

Is 1680 x 1050 the default that came with the 2016?I have set the same scaling resolution on both to 1680 x 1050. Also I have identical Applications on both machines with identical data.

Sorry I am too lazy to make another video. Just look at the numbers:Scrolling in a folder stutters? can you please open the Activity Monitor along with it?
Also, i feel like that stuttering might be a software issue because it doesnt stutter on mine and i currently have a mid 2010 13 inch lol
Yes it's the same. 1536 is just the amount of RAM allocated to GPU.Iris Pro 5200?
I have a 2015 2.8/1TB/16GB/370x dGPU maxed out MBP and my iGPU is "Iris Pro 1536MB" is that the same?

Thanks! That's horrendous, and what upsets me the most is the fact that they could've easily picked the 6X70HQ CPUs, with the Iris Pro 580, like they did in previous generation. And prevented this subpar experience.
That said, my late 2013 with the Iris Pro 5200 also stutters in Finder scrolling; Quartz Debug says it's between 30 and 40fps, so there may be a software component in the issue. I wonder if doing a clean install could help.
What conditions did you set up to create this effect?
Like did you force turn off the radeon GPU and run a bunch of programs on other desktops? Or is this something you can see with only a couple things running and the radeon GPU enabled?
Does this just happen out of the box scrolling through random OS windows?
Wow that just made up my mind, I couldn't buy a 2016 with all that sticky scrolling, that's terrible. Why would Apple put a less powerful internal graphics compared to last year?Guys, I made a video of the stutter. Basically in the video I am comparing scrolling of 2015 vs 2016 model. If you are getting 30-40 FPS on 2013 then there's no stutter at all. The FPS on 2016 model i posted is probably close to 5-10, otherwise if it was 30 FPS then you wouldn't be able to tell since I shot the video in 30FPS.

Otherwise I really loved the new 2016 15". I just can't stand any kind of stutter. Especially at this price. I will probably return it for 13" TB, since it has Iris 550. But then I will have to downgrade to Dual core CPU, which also sucks!
I may as well just keep to my 2015 15". Will have to decide soon.
Both were set to automatic graphics switching and all applications on both of them closed. Both were restored from the same Time Machine backup. Both were set to scaled resolution of 1680 by 1050.

Sorry I am too lazy to make another video. Just look at the numbers:
iGPU inside 2016 model is Intel HD 530 which has performance of 441.6 GFLOPS
iGPU inside 2015 model is Intel Iris Pro 5200 which has performance of 832 GFLOPS
So the lower the GFLOPS # the better? It would appear yes since it's stuttering on the 2016 but not the 2015
Can anyone else who personally owns a 2016 15" and has it right now please confirm if all the OS windows stutter like that?
Your mac mini will never stutter because it doesn't drive a Retina display which requires pushing 4 times as many pixels.I own a late 2012 mac mini running Mavericks it's a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 with 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB it also has a SSD drive and I have never ever had any lag or stutter, in fact after seeing your video I opened up the same finder and scrolled and it's butter smooth and fast. I'm in the market to buy a new laptop as I'm running a 2009 Dell Studio and I want to get a Macbook Pro only because I want a 15" but I'm seriously thinking of a 2015 Macbook Pro instead of the 2016 model after seeing this. My problem is that I want at least 500 SSD and that means I have to get the AMD graphics card I don't need since I don't game.
To be fair, not all windows stutter. Here is where I noticed most stuttering:
1. Scrolling inside "Applications" folder
2. Scrolling through messages in Microsoft Outlook
3. Scrolling in heavy websites
4. Zooming in http://www.istocknow.com
5. Mission control.
6. Minimizing windows
As you can see now that people are testing the machines with the 530 they do indeed have UI lag.I don't think there will be an issue with lag. It's not as simple as "just put a faster GPU and it won't lag".
But, in reallity, I doubt Apple would put that card in there if it would lag. "But they did it with the iMac 5K base model!". No, they didn't - the M290X runs great - it was a software issue they fixed with El Capitan.
Even with all that negative talk, I do think Apple engineers want to provide the best experience. The HD 530 draws less power than the Iris Pro. Since every MacBook Pro will have a dedicated Radeon, I think it made sense to use the HD 530 instead - but not at the cost of lag (so I have faith they made the best choice).
Also, if it does by any chance lag, you can always turn off Automatic graphics switching in Settings and use just the Radeon card that is certainly more powerful than Iris Pro.
