Anyway, back to this post. Not only have we covered this exact same question in the past, but your question is illogical. You literally just said:

"Like what? Unless its something only the iPhone can do, Nexus can do it and much more."

Just as I thought, more garbage. Here are just 10 big things the Nexus can do the iPhone can't. You let me know when you have a worthy list of what iPhone can do Nexus can't.

Run on 4G
NFC
Removable battery
Manage files
Attach anything to an email
Use multiple keyboards
Use a custom launcher or ROM
Flash
Widgets
Set a custom ringtone without using a computer

Just as I thought, more garbage. Here are just 10 big things the Nexus can do the iPhone can't. You let me know when you have a worthy list of what iPhone can do Nexus can't.

Run on 4G -Ok

NFC - Doesn't do much at this point without another NFC device, most stores don't have NFC yet

Removable battery - Unnecessary, iPhone doesn't require it

Manage files - Dropbox.com and many others

Attach anything to an email - iOS 6 allows for Photos and Videos, any file app allows for the emailing of files

Use multiple keyboards - unnecessary, they 99% of them are just themed differently from the stock keyboard

Use a custom launcher or ROM - Unnecessary

Flash - This is fading out soon, flash won't be supported on Android 4.1 and new installations of it are ending in August

Widgets - unnecessary, drain battery, just going into the actual app is not a big deal

Set a custom ringtone without using a computer - how often do you change your ringtone / this isn't something urgent where you'd need to do it right away or on the go

Left my responses above.

Things the Nexus doesn't have?

Phenomenal software and hardware support, timely software updates / updates after a year or two of purchase / release, more than a handful of high quality apps

Guys...I figured it out, mbell1975 is a bot. Canned responses, regardless of what you said. Asking the same questions over and over, even after the question was answered. Ignoring anything it doesn't understand how to respond to. Saying things that logically don't make sense (likely a bug in the script). Responding to posts with comments that are not relevant to the conversation. The inability to follow a conversation past a few posts without saying something that has already been addressed...

Is this the new CleverBot?

And doing nothing but bash Apple and praise Android.

The nexus has all of those things. The nexus s is in fact getting full blown jellybean. Not a watered down ios6 like the iPhone 4.

The Nexus S doesn't have Face Unlock so essentially, it is a watered down version. The Nexus S is barely a 2 year old device so it's nothing surprising that it'll be updated.

So anything the Nexus has the iPhone doesn't is unnecessary? LMAO!! What a joke  Oh and your list is REALLY reaching. Nexus has all those things anyways. You fail.

Because once I proved you incorrect a number of times, you completely change the subject to which platform would I want to be a dev for. That question had ZERO to do with the thread we were in and the topic being discussed as it does in this thread as well. Try asking me in a thread that question would be relevant to.

It doesn't have face unlock because a VGA front facing camera isn't enough to verify a face. Face unlock isn't exactly a major feature like siri or navigation in maps either.

How's that iOS 6 look on the iPad 1 which you could buy at the same time as the Motorola Xoom which is getting jellybean.

You kept changing the subject so the question became irrelevant.

And yes, they are unnecessary to us iPhone users but necessary to Android users because they think they have something against us.

And stop voting up your own posts.

Motorola Xoom has 1GB of RAM and a dual-core processor where the iPad 1 has 256MB and a single-core processor. Nice try.

You could buy them at the same time for similar prices. When the xoom came out the ipad 1 was apples tablet.

As obnoxious as Mbell is, he has some valid points. Which is why I consider the iPhone and iOS6 to pale in comparison to some of the android phones out there.

Feature for feature, Jelly bean is more robust. No if, and's or butts. However the fact that it is more robust doesn't automatically make your phone and OS obsolete!

I don't think anyone here is trying to make people switch, its just when people make blanket statements like "Android sucks" "iPhone is has the best hardware and software" it seems that they are being cheerleaders instead of researching the competing products.

No, they're just here to call those of us who simply prefer and choose to use Apple products mindless followers while promoting a brand most of us don't care about.

This is a tech site and the vast majority of us ARE educated consumers, chose the Apple iPhone as the best phone to suit our needs, and came here to discuss that phone with other like minded people.

The second Apple steals a feature from Android, the second something uncessary becomes innovative and awesome.

That's probably because iOS does not support custom ringtones per contact. I was quite disappointed to learn that the iPhone 4 does not allow for custom ringtones for individual entries in the address book/contacts. It is very helpful to have an "audible caller id"-type feature. On my Android handset I set ringtones frequently.

The lack of a visual missed call indicator (LED) on the iPhone is another feature I miss.

The thing that keeps me on my (prepaid) iPhone 4 is the excellent battery life (due in part to how iOS handles multitasking).

If Google ever got to the point of admitting that Android's multitasking is "broken as designed" and addressed it, I'd be back. (and they'd have to deal with the autostart of apps that have no reason to autostart)

Proved me incorrect on what? Considering the logical inconsistencies with your posts, I am very interested to hear what you think you've proved me wrong on. You started ranting, I asked for clarification on something you said, and your response was that the iPhone isn't part of the "big boys". Asking which platform you would develop for is directly relevant to that assertion.

Since the "big boy" developers are choosing iOS as their lead platform, investing hundreds of millions into the already 7+ Billion dollar AppStore ecosystem, I find it interesting that you say they aren't part of the "big boys" because of things like the screen size.

That's like comparing a 13" Windows laptop to a 17" Linux laptop, and saying the Windows machine "isn't a part of the big boys", because your screen is bigger and you have Conky on your desktop.

Just because you prefer something doesn't make that the better option in a non bias critique.

I am glad you like the iPhone, I use an iPhone 4S(iOS6 Beta 2) as well as a Galaxy Nexus(Jelly Bean) and they both have there strengths and weaknesses. I prefer the Galaxy Nexus, and I also think that it has the iPhone 4s beat feature for feature. The only downsides are the camera and the fact that I cannot group text and keep those text messages in one group!!

The last one is really cool. Ringdroid is a great App. I made 5 ringtones yesterday with my phone using my own music. Ive had that app for a couple eyars and it is really nice and easy to use.

Oh and you didnt add multitasking to your list or external storage.

Buy some NFC tags and it does a lot more without having another NFC device around.

Your responses are bad.

I'm not going to reply to all of them, just the most egregious ones:

You can do plenty with NFC right now (google 'NFC Tags'.)

Keyboard - you're wrong about this, 3rd party keyboards are leaps and bounds better than both apple's AND google's keyboards (i.e. swiftkey 3).

Widgets - Once you've used widgets, you won't go back. I like being able to turn on my phone and my home screen has FOUR widgets, negating the necessity of opening 4 different programs. And no, not all of them are battery draining (just the ones like facebook which update all the time, but even then, you can use programs that limit their updates).

Edit: Oh and the Nexus line gets timely updates. The Nexus S is getting the updated google voice. The iphone 4 doesn't even get Siri, what a joke.

Batting 1000 has some denial issues.

But you know ....all this talk about which phone is better gets out of hand. I may not even use the face unlock feature as im not using it now. Its a better security feature, yes, but its not something im real excited about. But, it is there if i change my mind.

Clearly Google Now imo is much better than Siri but Siri does well too. However there are times i wont want to have to read the answer or have to go to a web search so in that regard, GN is much better.

Whichever floats your boat though. The iPhone first and foremost to me is just too small and isnt customizable enough. But, for others, they like bland or just dont want to have to mess with that and like simpleton type stuff. Nothing wrong with that.

All SwiftKey did was predict my next word which was annoying. Otherwise it had auto-correction just like any keyboard.

I wasn't fond of widgets. The weather/clock ones were nice and I used those, but things like The Google Reader widget, etc just update all the time and they made the home screen scrolling laggy.

That Dev question IMO isnt a real good question.

As a Dev, i could charge money on either platform so it really doesnt matter but since more people are on Android, i think id probably choose that one and keep the App cheap but really since im not a dev, its hard to answer that one logically. Right now, my logic says go where more people are at.

Swiftkey has INCREDIBLE autocorrection and prediction. Sometimes I can tap out a whole sentence by hitting space bar.

You probably didn't use it for very long, it learns over time.
