International iPhone 4S Order Status Thread

Apple UK Site

Hey all

Just for clarification - on your browser if you hover over the white triangle in a blue circle (to the right of Processing Items) it pops up a list of where you are in the process.

Mine says 'dispatched' but it still falls under "Processing Items".

You only truly know it's on it's way in the UK once you get a tracking number and you can no longer make changes to the order.

I'm excited but know that you can't rush the :apple: Processing System!

P.S. In the UK the tracking option often doesn't appear until its actually out for delivery as their website takes 24 hours to update with the info. Plus the usual UK carrier is pretty rubbish in my experience!

Yeah, the Apple store website is hopeless to track with. I just used the UPS site and tracked my iPad from Shenzhen to my city :D Once they send out my iPhone and provide me with a tracking number then I won't need to look at the Apple site again :)
 
I just checked the apple.com.cn website. According to this website iPhone has been shipped. Awww...let's wait and see... I'm in UK. UK site says process:dispatched

Just tried looking at that site but it returns results in Chinese… so no idea what they say my status is lol

Are you sure? I checked the Chinese site and it says the exact same thing as the English one, except for the Chinese one using the old interface we used a few years ago. Yes, I can read Chinese.

The only interesting thing about the Chinese Apple Store is that it translates to "Ships before Oct 14". Personally I don't think it's anything significant, and I think we will be able to get it on launch day.

Everyone is just getting worked up because the Apple store isn't clear. "Ships by" means the phone is sent and delivered by the 14th, it isn't sent out on the 14th.

In a couple of days we'll start seeing some activity (that's if you ordered before shipping estimates went up to 1-2 weeks) and you'll get the iPhone by Thursday/Friday.

Yes! It will most certainly delay your iPhone delivery, I did the exact same thing with a Bumper. Phone Apple ASAP and ask them to remove the AppleCare from your order (you can't cancel it individually online, only the whole order which you obviously wouldn't want to do). Then just order AppleCare separately. Otherwise your iPhone will go to a seperate distrubution centre to be merged with your Applecare delivery and shipped the day after that. It can delay your order up to 3 days. When I phoned, the guy knew exactly why I was doing it. He cancelled the bumper and immediately my shipping changed to 'Fast Ship EMEA' and I placed a separate order for the bumper.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I ordered a docking station and I just checked the Chinese website. Translated, it said ,,Merge in transit", but after I canceled the dock it switched to express delivery! Hope I'll get mine on friday!!
 
Thanks, i had the micro usb ordered with the 4S and had the merged delivery. Canceled the adapter via online and now i have the fast shipment :)

France appstore by the way.

So I have been chatting with a German Apple-Store assistant and she told me that they would START the delivery on FRIDAY. Means no iPhones on Friday, at least not for Germany.
Wir beginnen erst mit dem Versand am Freitag. Und das auch erst wenn wir einen Zahlungseingang haben

Translation: We will beginn shipping on friday. Additionally, shipping only starts when chashed.

She also told me that the Carrier needs 7-10 days for delivery :/
 
In the UK and just spoken to apple. According to them shipping will not begin until the 14th with an estimated delivery time of 4 to 7 working days.
Very disappointing if correct but can only wait and see!

"She" can tell you a lot because those folks in Cork haven't got any clue about this process. They just follow up their manual.

Anyway, ships by means that iPhone 4s leaves their warehouse on or before that date.

Quite sure even some Germans will have their 4s on Friday ready. But not all.

pretty obvious the person you spoke to read 'dispatched: ships by 14th October' as 'the phone ships on October 14th'

By the way, this rule applies to all Apple hardware. If you are ever buying something from Apple and want it asap, order everything individually. Buying a Customised to Order Macbook Pro AND a bluetooth keyboard at the same time took forever. In fact, there's a pretty good blog about the whole Apple shipping process and you can read it here:

"Fast Ship (EMEA)" means it'll be coming direct from the factory in China.
If you ordered an iPhone and something else, it'll get merged into one box in The Netherlands on its way to you (delay).

How exactly do you navigate to check your status on the Apple China site? Whenever I try it only returns results in Chinese.
