United Kingdom (says GB in the picture)

I'm in Canada and I just checked my order status again and the shipping method has changed from "Standard Shipping" to "Expedited Shipping".

Anyone else have this changed?

mine still says standard shipping (canada as well)

This is incorrect my good sir. Apple has charged my card and my order is still in process. iPhone 4S 64/Black/Canadian store.

When you place the order they put a hold on the funds to make sure you have enough in your account, so yeah they do take the money out in a way but it's not a final charge, this will be put back into your account within a few days and will then be properly charged when the phone has shipped.

I stand corrected :). Thank you for the information! My shipping method is set to standard aswell (Canada).

I just called Apple because for some stupid reason put in my details for the billing details, instead of my dear mothers and I had to fix it. I asked them if there is any chance of it shipping before the 14th. And well, he said no. That most likely it will be shipped exactly on the 14th. All I can do now is hope they are wrong!

In Australia by the way, and I pre-ordered mine as soon as the Apple site was up and running. If Optus, Telstra, etc. can get it ON the 14th, and to their customers ON the 14th. Why can't apple do the same for the customers that buy directly from them?

The last pre-release item I ordered from Apple...

… was the Apple TV 2. I assume this shipped from China as it was a new release item and I ordered it as soon as it became available.

It was shipped on 27th September 2010, and arrived on 2nd October. Oh wait I actually picked it up from the local TNT Depot on Saturday 2nd… otherwise it would have arrived on Monday 4th.

So assuming it left China on 27th Sept and was delivered to me on 4th Oct thats delivery 7 days after dispatch.

So unless our iPhones are being shipped from the UK/Europe there is no way we'll receive them on Friday :(

But what I don't know is what day the official launch of ATV2 was in the UK. If it was 4th October, maybe we will be ok if the phones are already in the UK. Apparently Carphone Warehouse already have their hands on their allocation and are holding them until Friday.

If ours don't come by Friday I may have to join the line at my local Apple Store and return the shipped one when it arrives.

Does anyone have any other experiences about receiving things on launch day in the UK?

I was told that under NO circumstances whatsoever will ANY iPhones be shipped earlier than the 14th, emphasis on the NO. Yet when I came back with the masses of tracking numbers they said "Oh, well those are definitely Apple products but there's no way it's the 4S." At this point I'm not expecting it on the 14th, but I think there's still a chance.

If they are under "no circumstances" shipped before the 14th how will they ever arrive at anyones door ON the 14th anywhere in the world? I meant that "apparently" there is no chance that the iphone will be delivered (not shipped) to Australia on the 14th. I think you got 'shipped' confused with 'delivered'... as in, no chance that anyone will have theirs delivered to their door before the 14th.

I didn't say I believed what he said, I'm just quoting word for word what he told me. The rep claims that not a single iPhone is allowed to ship from the warehouse until the 14th no matter what. He went as far as to insinuate that every person in this forum with a tracking number is a liar. Yet he had no refute for my questions.

I even had this confirmed by a 2nd rep, so obviously there's some false information floating around the call center.

Call centre's truly have very little real information.

It's really strange how almost every American orders have already received tracking numbers while we International buyers haven't even finished processing yet. I'm sure Apple sells more handsets overseas than inside the US, and yet it seems they don't even bother treating us as equals...

Well, whatever. I'll just have to wait and see. And if it seriously ships out from China on the 14th, I will be very disappointed. It's currently Tuesday 11th in Australia, 11:18AM and both my iPhones are still processing.

Australian Shipping Time

Ok guys here's my breakdown of how things MIGHT go for us aussies based on what I'm reading about the USA orders at the moment.

It appears that USA orders have started to arrive in Alaska having being shipped from China on the 10th and entering Alaska from Hong Kong airport. This has been confirmed via their shipper tracking info even though the Apple site in some cases still states "processing order" or "preparing for shipping". All this aside, I do not believe that our orders have left China as yet but none the less it is my ASSUMPTION that they could still be on our doorsteps by end of Friday. This is my reasoning:

As the US is the furthest country from China, is a bigger country geographically and would have the biggest amount of orders they would need at least a couple of days head start than every other country to start their shipping process to allow for a 14th delivery.

Now for us in Australia, being closer than USA to China... Having a play on the TNT site, and their shipping estimates, our orders would have to leave Hong Kong no later than 12pm our time tomorrow to facilitate a 9pm arrival in Sydney. The orders could then leave TNT on the 13th at 9am, for us not in Sydney, and still make it on our door steps the next day, the 14th. Bottom line, our orders HAVE to be on a plane from Hong Kong no later than 12 noon tomorrow for us to have it in our hands on the 14th...

I've worked in over the phone customer service before, and sometimes you just need to ******** to shut people up. Maybe that's what they are doing? I'm just happy that I realised I'd put down my name for the billing and had it changed to my mothers name before any serious delays occurred for me. I would have been so angry at myself! It will be delivered eventually. But even uni studies won't keep me distracted. Like everyone else, I just want the waiting to be done with!

I'm in Melbourne, and I know there are direct flights from China right here. In general, I believe that the iPhone needs to be shipped out of China no later than Wednesday because it takes a day to get to Australia. Then it will arrive in Australia early Thursday, be stuck at customs for half a day before being dispatched to the Fedex centre that afternoon, which will be either delivered on the day or on Friday.

Bottom line, if the iPhone 4S doesn't ship out by tomorrow, we have no hopes of seeing it this week. If you're not in a major city, even worse luck since it takes another day for the iPhone to get to where you live after landing in a major International airport.

Ordered from Apple.com at around 8:40AM GMT on October 7. Still showing as "Processing Items". 'Dispatched: Ships by October 14' (UK). Order took less than 30 seconds to complete, confirmation e-mail took 10 hours.

Hoping to at least see some movement by this time tomorrow.

My MacBook took 3 days to get from China to Sydney! Unless they had different shipment methods. I'm assuming our precious iPhones will be travelling by air then? I hope I see "Preparing for Shipment" tomorrow, but at the same time I don't want to be disappointed. Imagine spending the whole weekend waiting for delivery, when everyone is already playing with theirs bought directly from the telcos... I just want to test out Siri so badly!

Telstra, Vodafone, Optus etc are all saying they'll have the 4S for the 14th in store.

Apple will just ship x amount of units to Australia, and allocate them different destinations. So I'd imagine that our phones will come out with the phones destined for the Apple stores and other mobile carrier's stores, and if they need to be delivered to the stores for the 14th, I'd imagine we should have them then too.

If not, I can live without it for another week or so, although I'll be using an old SE phone as I've sold my current iPhone as of Saturday.

I don't see why we who pre-ordered would have to wait longer for our phones than those who buy on the day. If stock is to be shipped to Australian Apple stores for an 8am Friday launch then there is no reason why our pre-orders would not be shipped around the country, to pre-order customers, at the same time.

In Canada (Calgary, Alberta, to be precise), and mine is still processing, with standard shipping.

Maybe it's being expedited if it's going out further east? I lived in Newfoundland up until a month ago, and I believe my orders from Apple have frequently been expedeited without any extra charge to me - and I still managed to get it on the day.

I'm new to living out west, but there is obviously a bit less time required to ship from China to Alberta than from China to Atlantic Canada.

Ok I get that Australia get's an X amount of iphones delivered on the 14th to the telcos, and hopefully some of us who pre-ordered early. But I don't see why Apple would put down Ships By, and in America Delivered By. Did anyone outside America get a status with Delivered By. Mine originally said that, but then as I was pre-ordering, the status suddenly changed to Ships By, and I was like WHAT! Just thinking out loud as I slowly wait for tomorrow to find out if they will prepare our shipment. I hope Apple are fair this week.

I'm in Calgary as well. My shipping is showing expedited though I think that was the doing of the second rep I spoke to. I was showing Standard until I spoke to him.
