Same here, I've tried contacting Apple Support without much success.

Call Apple Support and ask them to transfer you to Greendot. Greendot will delete your account/card and you can try verification again. I did and the 2nd time it worked.

I went through a verification process that asked for the last 4 digts of my SSN, then the full SSN, a scan of the front and back of my drivers license, and then got a screen that said verification failed. Anyone else got through this?
I only had to enter the last 4 numbers of my SSN as the final verification stage, no full number required. That sounds very odd.

Does anyone knows if this Apple pay cash works only in the countries were Apple Pay is available?

I thought it was odd too. Makes me wonder if it's a random process that some have to go through or somehow related to credit score? When I did it a second time (after talking to Greendot support) it was the same process, including driver's license, but this time it worked.

Another man in the middle taking a slice. If you're in the US, just use Zelle. There's like a 90% chance you already have it with your bank.
I know Wells Fargo has Zelle.

@ iCloud iMessage

Apple is supposedly rolling out iMessage syncing feature - similar to what they do with Notes now. (You see them across all devices signed into your iCloud account, and they are on the cloud)
As it stands now, if you get a new phone and sign in to it, you start off with zero messages. All historical messages are MIA unless you restore from a backup.

Although I really don't know how well this will work with their stingy/measly 5GB iCloud storage space. STINGY.
Also, when you delete an iMessage on one device, it will delete from all your other devices. that's what I am looking forward to.

Not sure if my issue is isolated, but after I installed 11.2 PB 2 and tried to enter passcode to unlock, iPad Pro 9.7 when into "Attempting Data Recovery" mode. Hoping this is no biggie.

The bank I use for checking/debit still isn't setup for Apple Pay, stupid credit union.
It took mine a while too and once when I asked about I was told they'd sent everything off to Apple they were just waiting for it to be turned on. What I don't like about my CU's app is that it doesn't support even TouchID let alone FaceID. I'm always having to copy/paste my pw. Considering other banking options to smooth that out.

Apple Pay Cash is currently only a US feature. However if we're talking about acceptance of the card outside the US.

You may have problems because it's not a Visa or a MasterCard. The card is a Discover Debit Card which is issued by Green Dot Bank.

See Here for international acceptance, the page shows what logos to look for while you're overseas at the bottom of the page they change for each region you select at the top. They also have to support contactless Discover.

If someone has money loaded onto the Apple Pay Cash card, do those funds become the default payment for iTunes and App Store purchases for that Apple ID until the funds on the Apple Pay Cash card are depleted?

Oh that’s actually something I initially overlooked; were you trying to connect a credit card? I connected a debit, which I’d imagine has fewer strings attached.

I wouldn’t touch these new pay systems with a 10 mile barge pole with iOS 11 in it’s current bug filled mess! I haven’t had Apple Pay work since the last update...

I tried to watch a You Tube video on Touch Arcades website the other day and it crashed Safari completely...

It’s an utter fudging mess, I have never had as many crashes and bugs in several years of iOS use as I have had with iOS 11!!
I must be really lucky because Im not experiencing any these bugs you have.

Just used it today, and it worked fine. Was very easy.

iPhone 6S 128GB with plenty of free storage and about a year old. Apart from the updates to iOS 10, which it shipped with, iOS 11 is its first major OS update, and an utter mess too.

If you're having that many issues I would wipe and reload iOS 11 fresh. I've got two others on my account with the same phone and none of them have the issues you're reporting.

After looking at this, I think I'll stick to Zelle. It's about as easy to use, addresses the security drawbacks of Venmo, and goes directly to the other person's bank account instead of some silly intermediary Apple Pay Cash card.

Actually, if you are in Europe you can use N26. They had that feature to send money in iMessage since a year now (at least)

I'd like to see Zelle add that functionality - there's no reason they couldn't do it. Although it'll be interesting to see if Apple kills that ability for N26 because it's "redundant with" an Apple service.

I don't know, not sure what if any advantage this would have over, say, Venmo, which is cross-platform and pretty widely used -- at least where I am.

Yeah, I'm sure he's going to buy "ramen" with that $20.

Well, maybe he will until his weed dealer starts accepting Apple Pay.
