But you're living in a neighborhood of scavengers. Either start ripping, or move out of the neighborhood, but staying within the neighborhood, don't ever state honest opinions, and God forbid, start something about rightness and wrong. :)

Yes, I like trailers too, not the entire movie. But again, according to the kind of logic I have witnessed recently, I'd think that we should all be smacked with the entire movie and from what I gathered, it's also the popular choice. Why? Because we love movies! So we automatically must be smothered with them!

For what it's worth, I agree with you.
Just because you watch the movie trailer it does not mean you want to know everything that happens in the movie

The point, as you seem to miss along with lots of people here, is about integrity and ethics.

Something you might want to learn about and maybe develop some.
Something you may want to learn about and employ is called a measured response. Histrionic overreactions about leaked software are textbook examples of "yeah, not really a measured response."

Apple is not Sansa Stark. The leakers are neither Joffrey nor Ramsay. The GM is not virginity. It's software that's going to be talked about next week and the leak will be forgotten shortly thereafter. Nobody - literally and figuratively - will care... 'til the next leak.;)

Lighten up Francis and save all that righteous indignation for something important. Something like, I don't know... should I start a running back or wide receiver in my flex spot on my fantasy football team?

You just made the list, buddy.

This begs the question about what next years flagship will be called. Xs sounds too much like Excess which doesn't exactly have positive connotations. lol Either that or the iPhone X will be pronounced 'iPhone Ten'. But then again, it created questions on naming going forward.

Even if there are no surprises left for those in this group, the public at-large will hear it for the first time on Tuesday with Apple's media machine running like a well-oiled machine. As early as yesterday, I was having conversations with people that have no idea that Apple's new phone is being announced on Tuesday, and if not for me, would have probably learned about it for the first time watching MSNBC, complete with small sizzle clips from the media event. Even after the announcement, most still are unaware of the existence of the HomePod, and probably won't know about it until they see it for sale inside an Apple store, probably when they're there for some completely unrelated reason.

These rumors and leaks are a thorn in Apple's side, but your friends that are not diehard rumor site enthusiasts will be blown away as usual. The only consolation is they also won't be waking up at 3am ET to pre-order like you or me.

And I am feeling bad for Apple as these people have no regards whatsoever - just for some likes they will rip apart anything to bring before the hungry masses.
Not convinced Apple is too upset about all the recent leaks. Are the 'leakers' getting more sophisticated than before or is Apple somewhat pleased by a bit of advance publicity?

I find it hard to believe they couldn't somehow obfuscate relevant info in code under pseudonyms. Even though, it's still exciting to hear confirmation of the rumors at the keynote from Tim, Craig, Phil, etc. themselves.

ha ha, I love it, I think you nailed it! Heh the Iphone Excess! For when you are ready for Moar!

Hate to be that guy, but I wonder what the next gen will look like? If the 8S or 9, whichever they go with (if at all), will look like the current 8, or if they're going to implement the X design to all models going forward. Seems dumb to do so much work for a one-off.

Design wise, I expect less hardware with buttons and the OLED model will likely make its way to the lower end models. It's also rumored a 6.4 iPhone for next year and any new models will also have OLED models from that point forward, with the exception of the iPhone SE.

What gets me is that if this stuff is in the GM and not betas, then the beta testing isn’t really that representative is it?

Lol, I find it hilarious that you (and apparently 13 others?), all feel that FaceID could’ve been properly tested in the field on current iPhones & any kinks worked out.... if only Apple had left that code in the betas!!
Umm... wut?
Not sure you all fathom how literally anything works at all.

Interesting that they're jumping to type 3 seemingly. When A10 was restricted to 2 cores at any time, I figured Apple didn't see a point to it and wasn't just in it for marketing core count like most others. Wonder if anything changed, like bandwidth, or if they wanted A10 to do that but didn't have time or something (not that it didn't crush at launch anyways)

Next year I’m going to avoid reading rumours, because I feel like I know everything about Tuesday’s event.

Never understood why people want spoiler free reveals but visit Macrumors on a regular basis.

I personally visit this site for the leaks and spoilers. It’s not like I won’t be watching the reveals anyway.

They should at least take away the licenses and memberships of everyone involved in the leak. Set a precedent that if you leak the software out of our campus, we leak you out of your job. If you leak things out of our software, we leak you out of your developer membership.

Possibly even litigate. Because people today have absolutely no regard left when it comes to ethics in such matters. Just for likes and viewership/ readership.

Apple has no ethics regarding slave labor, but I should be up in arms over software developers doing what software developers do, which is pick apart code?

Mind you if you work for Apple and violate an NDA, you should be fired.

Hmmm. Interesting but I feel this is not going to be very convenient compared to the existing Touch ID.

What about in low light / evening conditions? How well will FACE ID work in these conditions? I think Touch ID is going to be sorely missed. Having said that, the amount of times it doesn't work with wet, sweaty, dirty fingers etc...

When was last time Apple held a reveal that was substantial anyway? Each one is more boring that the last (BTW I've been using Apple products since original MAC).

Airpods... I don't remember reading any leaks about them when they had launched. Just a news on vague blue tooth head phones that were coming out.

Agreed!

I don’t see what’s the issue, granted the people who worked deligently on the rumored iPhone X and other upcoming Apple devices should be disappointed by this leak.

But us as Apple’s enthusiasts should feel indifferent about the whole ordeal. As far as I know... the price hasn’t been confirmed nor if this rumored iPhone X will be available when the other 2 iPhones are announced.

With no home button, there haven’t been any concrete word on how Apple plans to utilize the bottom area of the display. There is a few unknowns.. but if anything this leak has made me even more excited to see what Apple has in store.
