How are we meant to unlock the phone in the dark?? Surely Apple won't say "get out of bed and go turn the light on, unlock the phone...turn off the light and continue using the phone in bed"

Although this is the company that said we were holding a phone wrong because they put the antenna in a stupid place....

TouchID is actually a useful feature that they promoted heavily, now they want to get rid of it. How about keep it and get rid of all the bloat ware they keep including in iOS.

iPhone 8 and 8 plus,

also known as iPhone 6SSS and iPhone 6SSS Plus.

It's like I'm in 2014 all over again.

I'd rather have a 6SSS than what I'm afraid is coming in the 8, which is a glass back. Ugh.

That's why I jumped into a deal on a new iPhone 7 Plus, one thing these rumours have showed me is I prefer the 7 with the aluminium back versus a glass backed model!

Hmmm. Interesting but I feel this is not going to be very convenient compared to the existing Touch ID.

Touch ID requires you to touch your finger to authenticate. Face ID doesn’t require you to do anything. If you’re using your phone, you’re authenticated. No action needed. How is Touch ID more convenient?

At this point Apple could hold an event to unveil the contents of Tim Cooks sock drawer and it would garner worldwide press attention.

I can't speak for anywhere else but here in the UK Apple announcements make the mainstream news never mind the tech news.

Problem is not to be on the news. The problem is how long Apple stays in the news cycle. These "leaks" guarantee at least a week of coverage before the event even happens. Then you get Tuesday, and then you get about a week of further news due to reviews and such. Instead of being in the news for one or two days, they are on for two weeks at least.

So... you think that Apple needs help to hype a new iPhone?

Have you ever been to Earth?

Yes because nowadays hype deflates very easily. Apple is not exempt from the natural reaction of "old news". This way they are not going to be old news for quite a while.

I'm a sucker for the latest and greatest CPU though. I'm on a 6S+ right now, tough decision on whether to get a 7+ $100 cheaper (after Tuesday), or suck it up and deal with a glass back.

I hate these idiots who feel they have to leak every single damn thing. I hate myself even more for reading these articles because I feel like I’m not “in the know” if I don’t.

It’s like some guy going around blabbing to everyone what happens in a movie people are anticipating and spoiling it. Then when you go to see the movie you’re not as interested as you know what’s coming.

Watching the latest blockbuster movie is hardly comparable to a phone release.

High voltage charging confirmed in HomePod firmware.

I wonder if that stacks up against Quickcharge 3.0, Samsung's proprietary charging system in their Exynos processor, and the OnePlus' dash charging setup?

No? I honestly can’t see how it could be less convenient, unless you have to carefully align your face with on screen guides or something. If it’s any good it will just unlock immediately after you wake the phone and it “sees” your face (since there isn’t much you can do on an iPhone without facing it, barring the sight impaired modes).

It's not as simple as you say. Otherwise this kind of leak have happened before in the past ten years of iOS releases.

Webmasters disable the directory listing for private webservers and directories.
I can't imagine Apple relying on security through obscurity for protecting any information of consequence. We know from previously "leaked" Apple job listings that unlisted URLs can be reconstructed programmatically.

Looks promising in regards to the SOC performance. Apple doesn’t even need the increase against competition, but they just keep pushing forward year after year.

Did you read the double click? That is why I quoted the small sentence that said you have to double click. No action needed?

Again did you read? You have to double click the power button. Single click will lock it and double will do Apple Pay. What do you think will happen by mistake. Try double clicking the power button now.
