Wow, I can't believe how many "beta apologists" there are out there.

Seriously, this isn't a June-beta or July-beta. This is a beta that went out mere weeks before the final release. This is not the kind of thing that you should see when the release is imminent. Yes, it doesn't crash. There's no data-loss. But it's still extremely annoying, and casts a shadow over Apple's quality control process.
That’s because.

Wait for it....

Drum roll please....

.... it’s beta!

Of course there’s bugs; regardless of version. There’s no ‘shadow’ being cast. And Apple engineers don’t read Mac Rumors forums - so don’t think your words mean anything outside this echo chamber of amateur users. If you don’t like bugs, don’t install beta software. Simple.

Maybe Apple set the length of the intended beta testing period hard-coded in the software, and it’s this period about to end. Apple would have to make a change on their end to fix this issue permanently.

That's because we have drunk and/or high devs on-board.

Noooo... an incepted iPhone

Sorry, I don't follow. This bug has no influence on the final software whatsoever, since it has to do with beta expiration date calculation. Bugs like these can occur at any beta stage, no matter whether early or late. Yes, it's annoying, but its also trivial and harmless. And yes, Apple should have caught it, but stuff happens. The speculation around this is beyond idiotic.

For the first time since 2007 I don’t want to pick up my iPhone. Pop up appears every time.

If you use it for work and your and other’s safety on the road depends on it *do not install beta software*

I don’t often reply to these posts but honestly just stop with this already. How the holy heck is anyone supposed to test and validate betas if they don’t use them in real world situations? LOL

If I wasn’t totally clear, STOP telling people to not use beta software. And STOP complaining about people sharing information on bugs.

Go to the apple beta page and redownload the beta software profile.

iPhone and iPad users who have installed the current iOS 12 beta are being plagued with a continual popup that suggests a new iOS update is available when it's not.

Affected users are seeing the following message: "A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 12 beta." The problem is users receiving this message are running the most recent version of iOS and there is no additional software to update to.

Beta testers have been seeing this popup since the latest beta was released on August 27, but over the course of the last day, the popups have become much more frequent.

Many users are now seeing the popup every time an iPhone or iPad running the beta is unlocked, and it is a popup that must be manually dismissed each and every time before an iOS device can be accessed.

Developer Guilherme Rambo has suggested that an error in the latest update causes the iOS beta to think that its expiration date is imminent, leading to the popup problem.

Complaints on Twitter and the MacRumors forums are picking up from users who are frustrated with having to continually dismiss the popup, and it's not clear when a fix will be available.

Toyota had cars that accelerated on their own killing people. People still buy them.

Samsung has phones exploding, burning shut down. People still buy them.

Apple has a minor software pop up glitch on a beta that’s easily fixable. People will till buy them.

Life goes on.

guys there's a fix to this annoying bug go to settings and time and date then turn off automatic date to manual then you reverse your date to 29th or earlier ! the bug will go off it's like rolling back in time lol. but warning you maybe signed out of icloud and other apps might not work well
[doublepost=1535711200][/doublepost]i reverted back to ios 12 dev beta 6 thinking maybe that'll fix it but it didn't and now i'm stuck with ios 12 dev beta 6 because i don't have the ipsw file for beta 11

There is a huge difference between reporting and complaining. It is great and expected that beta testers report bugs, even comment on how annoying such a bug would be to a regular user. It is unacceptable and ridiculous for beta testers to complain that a bug shouldn't occur however late the BETA release is. It's a beta. Then there are the people saying the Beta users are perfectly entitled to complain because somehow Apple is now responsible for providing a bug-free experience to its public beta community... *sigh* How entitled and narrow-minded can people get. I'm really hoping Apple is reading this forum and starting a black list of users who shouldn't be allowed to beta test their products anymore for breach of terms (you know, don't freaking bad mouth us on a public platform about a product your were warned is still being developed and are evaluating in a BETA program).

Did this work for anyone?
