Yes! Thanks for reporting on this. A few days ago it happened maybe twice, now it pops up every time I unlock the phone. I'm running the latest iOS version already, as always. It's very nerve-racking but it could be worse. Thought I was the only one ... I finally resorted to googling how to address it and this article popped up![]()
Get someone else to do the testing or use two devices, one stable on iOS11 and a companion iOS12.I don’t often reply to these posts but honestly just stop with this already. How the holy heck is anyone supposed to test and validate betas if they don’t use them in real world situations?
iPhone and iPad users who have installed the current iOS 12 beta are being plagued with a continual popup that suggests a new iOS update is available when it's not.
Affected users are seeing the following message: "A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 12 beta." The problem is users receiving this message are running the most recent version of iOS and there is no additional software to update to.

Beta testers have been seeing this popup since the latest beta was released on August 27, but over the course of the last day, the popups have become much more frequent.
Many users are now seeing the popup every time an iPhone or iPad running the beta is unlocked, and it is a popup that must be manually dismissed each and every time before an iOS device can be accessed.
Developer Guilherme Rambo has suggested that an error in the latest update causes the iOS beta to think that its expiration date is imminent, leading to the popup problem.
Complaints on Twitter and the MacRumors forums are picking up from users who are frustrated with having to continually dismiss the popup, and it's not clear when a fix will be available.

Manually setting the date back a few weeks gets rid of the alert.
No, people get plagued with diseases such as the plaguePlagued? People get plagued with disease such as cancer. A pop up is hardly being plagued. Hyperbole
I’m sure it’s been mentioned already, the solution is simple, roll back to the 11.4.1 general release.
Yes the pop up is annoying, but it comes with the territory. It seems each year as more people are trying the public beta there’s a sense of entitlement for the beta releases to work flawlessly. That’s not the intent of beta software and Apple tells users not to use it on non-testing devices.
Bottom line, if problems like this bother you, your not a good fit for the beta program.
Just my 2 cents.
Why did you download a BETA operating system knowing there was a very real risk of issues like this ? Like you didn’t even download the beta of a little app, but the actual operating system for the entire phone, you should have known that you’re not the kind of person to be able to deal with any arising problems so it’s so confusing why you did ?SO OVER THIS BLOODY BUG ! ITS EVERY TIME I TRY AND USE MY iPHONE !
C'MON APPLE !
UPDATE PLEASE OR KILL THE MESSAGE SERVICE !
PS THIS WORKS SO MUCH BETTER THAN SCREEN TIME AS NO ONE WILL TOUCH THEIR DEVICE UNLESS IT'S AN EMERGENCY !
Nope your response isn’t valid. It is a beta. Full stop. You know the risks. They are made clear up front and you accepted them.Love these responses.
"Work flawlessly".
Many people aren't expecting that so what you saying is just a straw man. People do however do expect them to be stable or else what's the point of providing these to the public and not just devs?
Complaints like this are 100% valid. People can be annoyed. People should be vocal about issues like this.
Plus, I would rather the testers using my apps not shift off the iOS 12 beta because of this; it's not ideal when you have two weeks to dev and your audience is being discouraged from actually testing. Both for me and Apple's sake in producing a good product.

With pre-alpha idiosyncrasies - but keep appeasingCOMPLAINTS? It is a BETA people.
Thx for testing our serverpark bandwidth with your responses.Yeah, but being a Richard to people who are venting in throws of a really obnoxious situation is close to as annoying as the "bug." CLOSE to. By this much...

Can you post Apple's response? Hopefully not a middle finger emoji...
tvOS beta profile?I'm still running iOS 10. Wish I could turn off the pop ups nagging me to update to 11....![]()
That’s because.
Wait for it....
Drum roll please....
.... it’s beta!
Of course there’s bugs; regardless of version. There’s no ‘shadow’ being cast. And Apple engineers don’t read Mac Rumors forums - so don’t think your words mean anything outside this echo chamber of amateur users. If you don’t like bugs, don’t install beta software. Simple.
This is just alpha SW, by def. Those who keep saying 'ohh it's a beta, what do you expect' this is the largest number of betas apple has either even had or had recently. This is an alpha level mistake. So get off your high horses. As someone who does programming, that kind of mistake is really lazy.
Get educated about elementary UX usability perspectives of beta SWI love how people think this is a bug. Most likely the expiry date for the beta has just been set wrong. The GM won’t have an expiry so this won’t happen. It’s a non story.
