Pretty annoying. Apple shouldnt annoy anybody with updating anyway. If you dont want to update your system, you shouldnt be forced to do. Apple supports dictatorship essentially.

I did not plan on running the iOS 12 beta so I was running 11.4.1 on my phone and started getting the annoying pop-up message. I went to the Software Update on my phone and no update was available. So I plugged it into my computer and a window popped up saying that an update was required in order to sync my phone with my computer. I clicked "download" and after a few minutes, "install." But the update failed. I tried restoring my phone and it failed--something about it could not access the server.

So, I begrudgingly went through the process to join the public beta test for iOS 12, downloaded the software and I still have the annoying pop-up message that everyone was talking about in the first place. However, I started getting it while running iOS 11.4.1! I hope they fix it soon!

It’s been somewhat annoying me every few minutes now, but it is a beta build. Maybe one coming out soon?

I think “plagued” is too much of a strong word, though.

I agree. If this was a final build it’s one thing. Beta = bugs

How could this rookie mistake slip through QA so easily?

Really easily. This is likely a typo in a single field in a setting. It’s very easy to do this.

Remember, you’re running a beta. This is software that specifically is going to have bugs. There’s a lot of crucial work being done in each build. Having a typo has caused an annoying issue but it’s not data threatening and it’s not a big deal.

I don’t often reply to these posts but honestly just stop with this already. How the holy heck is anyone supposed to test and validate betas if they don’t use them in real world situations? LOL
They're supposed to use them on a second, non-production device so that if something like this comes up they can revert to their device running the older, stable software until a fix is pushed out. Or accept that stuff like this is going to happen from time to time, or only run production releases. It really is that simple.

Welcome to beta testing. This is one of the most annoying things I've faced in iOS 12 and really hope it'll be over in the next beta.

Prime example right here for why you run betas on a secondary device instead of your daily driver.

...what? An error in which the expiration date was set incorrectly...would...in fact...be a bug.

Look it’s honestly a little frustrating that this has happened but to be honest this beta cycle has been one of the best I have been through the overall stability of the betas has been great which leads me to believe the release version will be so much more stable than previous builds if this is the cost I’m willing to pay it

Mistakes can be done, sure, but keeping all quiet and leaving no information from Apple is somewhat rude to all testers.

One word......... BETA
Nonsens—RUDE is a better word!
